View Full Version : Andrew could be an incredible housemate
Ignoring all the exposed stuff he's said on Twitter, in terms of actual entertainment value I think he's going to be good. I think he's a really interesting character. Not likeable in the slightest but interesting.

His whole shtick is way too contrived for me. He'd be crap even without the exposed comments.

I agree. A promising start for him IMO, one of the best housemates from the first episode.
It's about time we had someone who was openly wiling to be ruthless and 'play the game' (as best as you can in BBUK). They've asked them to fight for their place in the main house and he's the only one who seems bothered and determined.
Judging him on tweets from four years ago is just silly. The point of the show is to judge them as housemates, or else why are we bothering to watch?

It's not that silly. Four years ago maybe but he was still a grown adult at the time, not a silly kid. Anyone who's willing to spout such hateful crap isn't someone I'm willing to lend my support to.
But yeah, comments aside I'd be finding him tiresome anyway.

Because some may watch for different reasons than the one you watch it for? :hee:

Nevermind the tweets he's still a one trick pony
His self importance will grate by the end of the week

If he'd made the comments a week ago it'd still be silly, that was my main point. The fact it was four years ago only heightens that really.
Like, if we're just going to judge housemates by their actions outside of the show, why don't we just get an entire background check of all of the housemates life histories with character references from people they know, and judge them on that, crown a winner and let's not bother with the series? Because if people are just going to hold things against housemates for things they've done outside of an entertainment programme and the false reality that the Big Brother house is, then I don't really see what the point of us watching is, or even the housemates bothering to show up.
Because some may watch for different reasons than the one you watch it for? :hee:
Those being to judge housemates by their life histories (of which we know very little about, btw - a few tweets don't tell you everything) as if it's at all relevant to an entertainment television programme? Or to judge housemates as people rather than as housemates? Which is counterproductive. Or perhaps both?
Either way, there'd still not be much point in watching, so maybe you shouldn't bother? Might be best for the series too :hee:
He has potential to be a good villain but we'll see. He comes off as someone who would be unwilling to play nice in certain circumstances.
Yeah although I hate his comments I want him to stay because he is definitely unique and intruiging

Yeah I was thinking the same. He seemed cool at first but now I am thinking, 'okay dude, stop being so aloof. We get it, now let's see something different.'
So far I've seen nothing from this guy that makes me like him.
And what's his accent? American? Irish???:conf:

I want to see more of him too ,could be the series saving grace

Haven't paid attention since launch night because been racking my brain where the fack have I seen this man before- was it dinner date? Street mate? Did I work with him? :conf: No this morning I wake up my first thought "shipwrecked??:conf:" I google that and it turns out it was Tristan his younger brother with exact same face and voice who was fit but a prick and massive game player.

He's brilliant. Easily shown the most potential so far. I don't think he's going to be one to just talk the talk either, I think he genuinely doesn't care about the money/people and just wants to play his own game and be competitive. It's refreshing and I want to see him succeed.

Yea I really really don't like him at all but he seems to be constantly planning stuff and I like his gameplan so far, he seems pretty smart and could be very interesting. He won't get involved in the stupid petty arguments as well but will analysis everything

In response to Jack's comment: 'Or to judge housemates as people rather than as housemates?'
I tend to judge by what I see in the house. However, the housemates are people, just in a different setting, and their basic characteristics will be displayed both inside and outside the house. The person and the housemate are not two entirely different entities so surely there is an overlap between the two?

The problem is it's impossible to play clever when everyone else you're playing with refuses to join in. Andrew could be a strategic mastermind, but if all the other housemates won't listen to him and also try to play the game, he'll get frozen out really fast. We've seen this already, he'll come up with some tactics and all The Others will go "No I want to do etc. etc." with no reasoning, and everyone will shout over one another.
