Okay, so this all pretty much confirms my worst fears about the whole twist to this series, and the dribs and drabs of info we've been receiving about "The new rules".

All of the strategising, plotting and scheming that The Others are supposed to be doing is completely and utterly pointless. The Others don't care (or shouldn't care) about who they get out of the house, all they care about it how they get into the house, which they *still* don't know how to do yet. Instead of them "playing the house off of each other, causing paranoia and being an ominous force", what them getting into the house comes down to is a simple public vote, most popular people get voted in, the other Others don't.

How exactly can The Others do anything worthwhile with only part of the information? We saw this on launch night even, none of them understood exactly what the figures and the podiums were about, or why they were choosing someone. This whole spiel about "The Game Has Changed" and the new rules doesn't mean anything when we're learning about it all in little incremental pieces.

The entirety of this process should have been explained on launch night. If the "Twist" is so grandiose and complex that you couldn't explain the whole thing on launch night, then it's convoluted. The Others can forget attempting to cause paranoia in any way, the only strategy to get into the house is to get as much airtime as possible.
