he meant he was asked what materialistic things would he miss in the house, hence why he only listed materialistic things and not his family. that wasn't shown in the VT so he was just clarifying it

That is one perspective - on the other hand he was saying for that VT the question was "What materialistic thing in your life will you miss" - Ans. his car.

Purpose: two fold, to get the public to dislike chelsea even more, and to then play up the relationship with his 'Others' HM.

It backfired on the producers of the show.

The producers have either scripted HM VT's, or asked them leading questions, since the first series. Mel BB1 confirmed this years ago in an interview discussing how she wasn't happy with the first script they gave her.
