View Full Version : What is the point of the second house?

They appear to be having so many issues with handling footage from one house, let alone two. The series so far has felt haphazard and hastily slapped together. We haven't really gotten to know any of the cast even though a lot has happened as far as twists are concerned. I still feel like I know very little about any of the HM's. I think part of it is because they keep trying to justify this new house and the twist(s)... clearly having two houses is actually hurting us getting to know the cast because of having to split airtime between the two trying to keep with the sense of time.

It's bad enough we get rushed footage, that it didn't even take the normal house more than a few days to figure out that the other existed. Technical difficulties of tonight's "twist" aside, all the housemates looked like they couldn't have cared less... says it all there. I'm starting to really believe what we are seeing are not real people, but a scripted trainwreck. There are times I feel like it is good and we get some good footage. Other times it's just a mess that we're left to sort through.

They should've moved people into the second house after a few weeks after HM's were comfortable in their roles and we would need less footage to understand it. Should've just put all the evicted in there. I'm not sure what the point is now.

Many issues? There was one issue.
I feel like I know as much about the cast after week 1 as i do any other series, you can tell who the bores are and who the controversial ones will be.
They couldn't care less about the twist because it was old news to them.
Why would they spend all that money on a brand new house for them to scrap it after a week?

Something to waste money on that could have been spent on giving the fans what they've been asking for, for years.

Don't understand why the others should be immune though. Surely the ones without housemate status should be in more danger of going rather than the actual housemates.

I opened this one before yours, but I think it was late late last night in UK so it never got replies. I had to bump it.

Its dumb, its not the first time theyve done it though. Marc was immune for 4 weeks they wanted to keep him so bad.

The issue I have with the second house is the fact that none housemates are safer from eviction than real housemates. That's unfair that none housemates are not having to nominate each other.

I like it, it's different, they're not real housemates and could go any time. I like that the main house are now aware of this and they know 'The Others' are fighting for their place in the main house, it also adds paranoia on the main housemates because they will know they are being watched.

The others shouldn't be part of main house noms ....but I do think there shud be a seperated noms process for the others and that one shud be leaving tomorrow...

Was interesting, last night, that theories about the seperated couples being staged may not be the case...Jayne openly said that had BB told her about Chelsea being in the other house she wouldn't have agreed to take part...and if Chelsea knew about her being in the other house he is a very convincing actor cause he gen seemed shocked to see her....none of what took place there last night seemed staged to me.
