Im Irish and I can tell you that Travellers have a strict code that they stick to and Homophobic issues are not a problem for them, they just wont listen to anyone that supports man on man sex, so Hughie is a bit of a radical and a departure from the norm which cant be easy for him, but Im guessing that most travellers will want him to win, but the same fans will hate his sexuality.

For years Travelling people have endured problems so their way to deal with it is an attitude of screw the system, we do what we want, so just leave us alone and everything will be fine. Its a hard life they have and peoples prejudices does not make it any easier for them.

From a very young age their kids are taught to fight for everything and money is god. Hughie has a game plan and he wont deviate from it. He wants to be seem as a radical and gay, he thinks this will get him support and take him to the finals but his temper seems to be his undoing but its funny when he gets angry and starts squeaking.
