No exact final date has been confirmed yet but based on Emma's comments we should expect to be around 26-28 July

"It's eviction 3 and only three and a half weeks are left"

Does that sound tragic to anyone else?

Yes it should be like week 6 or 7 for that to be true welp

Why do they even bother doing Civilian BBif it's less than 2 months?
How could Endemol approve murdering the format so brutally?

3 weeks is nothing.

This series is serving good ratings and good moments and the fan reaction is good? Why have they decided to shorten it from 9 weeks to 6?

Even after 5 years channel 5 still manage to surprise us at how sh*t they manage this show. :joker: I love it.

Like what is the actual point in bothering? Or even bothering to build the extension (which was also a waste of time given how they yet again gave up on it a week in)?

This series will only have aired in two months of the year :umm2:

so if it ends July 31, I think that makes it 55 days at most.

I mean, I'm not entirely mad about this? Yeah it's short but As An American BBUK can be exhausting to watch and I much prefer this to a ****ing 99 day season like BBUS is this summer.

I guarantee summer CBB is five weeks

Their circle jerking over it is so nauseating that it's beyond comprehension

It's been a letdown in all aspects, especially "the big changes ~ everything is changing"

Wouldn't be shocked if this was the last regular series.

Is this an actual surprise to people though, I've said all along that the final will be on or around 29 July since the "8 weeks" was mentioned by Emma(Willis) and Marco in his eviction.

Wouldn't surprise me if CBB18 is 7 weeks long to make sure they get their fill of BBUK in 2016.

lol 'it's a whole new show, a whole new job! The game is changing' yeah sure

Probably, and like **** am I sticking with CBB once the civilian series is axed. I don't care whether it's better these days, their obsession with and devotion to it has been evident since the minute they bought the show and I refuse to allow their deliberate preferential treatment and overexposure of it to make me lose sight of the fact that it is and always will be the sideshow to the main, original format

Once civilian goes, so do I

I can't* even follow the American one. They cut in too much with the over-acting ITM's.

I actually don't mind it is shorter. Last series fizzled out too fast for me, especially after 4-in, 4 out...

This series though could use an extension....

People are saying it's because of the Olympics.

This is probably wishful thinking but they might extend it? Love island finishes in like a week and it gets higher ratings when it's not against love island. You never know

Tbh they could've just put it on earlier if it was due to the olympics... the reality is C5 dont have a clue what they're doing and need to give it up to Sky or ITV2 ... the fact the winner is spending less time in the house than BB13 Conor just puts me off my dinner

If they are ending it early it's down to the revenue, the phone lines are probably not as lucrative as they once were

Surely thats the fault of the producers for giving us two terrible civilian seasons in the last two years. By manipulating the hell out of the show they've put many people off voting, and they should try and bring people back... I honestly thought they were doing a good job so far with this series but it seems they dont understand why its all failing for them and want immediate success after years of damaging the show.

Even more of a reason why they should ditch the public vote! Maybe then the game really will change

Doesn't stop the US and Canada from producing multiple seasons

And the public vote isn't the only thing BBUK makes money off, they have product placement now too. Make that a bit more overt and hey presto you don't need the public vote anymore

Absolutely pathetic and honestly a sign that Channel 5 are prepping the axe. Their treatment of the civilian version is abominable - they've destroyed it and most of it's core audience (what's Big Brother's loss is Love Island's gain). Apparently they've also been close to pulling the plug early on the past 2 civilian series due to ratings. Also, Frow's apparently said that the ratings last year were a "problem" and that he wanted 1.5 million:

748943714014355457

Honestly, if Endemol really do care about the show and want to keep the civilian version on the air past 2018 then now is the time to try and shop it to other broadcasters (but let's be realistic - Sky and ITV2/Be are probably it's last hope with the damage Channel 5 has done). With the way the ratings for civilian BB are going I can see C5 only going for CBB when the contract renewal comes up in 2018.

01-07-2016, 07:47 PM
They need to sort themselves out.

Stop having two CBBs!!!!! And put more effort in to normal BB

01-07-2016, 07:49 PM
I'm absolutely gutted to read this news, IMHO I think this best series of BB since the move to channel 5, & the ratings aren't doing to badly either, can't get my head around why they've sorted the series so much:conf::bawling:

Jack_
01-07-2016, 07:49 PM
The ball's in Endemol's court now and I reaaaally hope they have the fans back (like it seemed they did the other week with the updates) and stick to what they said during the initial negotiations back in 2011, that BB and CBB are a package deal and you don't get one without the other. That is our only hope now

The thought of C5 being worried about losing their precious CBB cause they're too bitter about the civilian version :joker: :cheer2:

Yeah, but BBUS and Canada haven't been shunted to channel 5 after it stopped being popular.

True but then Slice was probably a smaller channel than C5 tbh

reece(:
01-07-2016, 07:49 PM
C5 will never be as iconic as Slice!

01-07-2016, 07:58 PM
that BB and CBB are a package deal and you don't get one without the other. That is our only hope now h

I think that's what they're doing right now. Making this excuse of a civilian BB just so they could do CBB. Endemol should not let them treat it like that like it's a check list they need to tick.

What a mess. The best series in years and they've decided this. ;/

lewis111
01-07-2016, 08:48 PM
That's not enough time to make this series iconic and it has potential

They need to cancel this mass eviction that'll ruin the show and extend at least 2 weeks

Even if it was say 64 and CBB 32, so at least it's still double which is fair (ish)

reece(:
01-07-2016, 08:59 PM
They should be lucky they're actually getting over 1 million on bloody C5.

Awh should be atleast 5 weeks left, they might be doing it to give CBB more weeks but that could backfire knowing the weather might prep up towards the end of summer.

Jay_Roberts441

Thinking about Emma Willis's "three and a half week" comment, pretty sure the series could end on Tuesday 26 July which would be Day 50. BBUK can't do live shows on a Sunday, also there hasn't been a Friday final for a long while now and like I posted on another thread CBB18 "could" have the Thursday 28 July as it's launch date to give it a weeks worth of coverage and press before the Olympics start on 5 August.
