I think what BB tried to say in Friday's HL show was that Charlie said the dog was like his daughter, then Jane piped up that Jason had mentioned his daughter to her which let Charlie who was keep the 'daughter' part of Jason 'secret' start talking about how hurt her feelings were concerning Jasons ('mother / daughter relationship status unknown') secretive and protective nature with his past.

However I think Jason was hoping to protect these people from media attention.

The housemates then tell the version of what they have heard and they then change what they have heard when repeating what they have heard to someone else.

i'm not too young, far from it. and also had personal experience of way too many years with a genuine psychopath not to recognise her manipulation of the other housemates, her attempted manipulation of jason, and fully understand his horror at seeing her there for the first time. his guarded behaviour is him protecting his family's privacy, his dignity (what little he has left), and his/housemates' sanity.
because he once loved her, he's also been trying to protect her from making herself vilified in the public eye.
