My Statement

Regarding all the drama of last night… here’s my take on things.

A while back in MSN, Lance and I were discussing how it would be funny if it turned out that I actually knew James in real life because we live quite near each other and I do know a few people from his town. Then we started joking around that maybe I had even gone out with him in the past, as I had also been out with one or two people from his area. Then Lance began to create this elaborate lie about a sordid affair. We were laughing and obviously weren’t being serious. Shortly after, Tanser got in on the joke as well, then it seemed to spread via small comments on MSN and in TiBB.

Now, everyone was well aware that this was obviously a joke and there was no malice or ill intent. However, if anyone had been offended or upset by it, then I would obviously have stopped. Nobody seemed to be upset or offended. James didn’t seem to be taking it any more seriously than anyone else, so I didn’t actually see the harm in it.

Then we had the “snippets” thread. And, of course, that was a perfect opportunity for our more creative members to use the “fake rumour” to create humorous news stories. Again, I didn’t see the harm, as I wasn’t aware of anyone who was upset or offended by it.

Now, after last night, it seems that Sasha has taken all this a tad personally. It was never my intention to get into a fight with anyone, especially over something that is clearly tongue-in-cheek. Things turned sour rather quickly last night, and it’s now blown way out of proportion.

I really do not have any interest in James and Sasha’s relationship. They are both consenting adults and it’s none of my concern. I wasn’t attempting to sabotage the relationship (as has been implied). Nor was Markus (who incidentally is not my “hobbit” and is perfectly capable of making his own decisions).

It’s sad that things got nasty. Sasha obviously presumed that she could say and do anything regardless of Forum Rules because of her online relationship with Forum Admin. I might point out that Kizwiz has an actual relationship with a Moderator, yet she doesn’t abuse this situation to her advantage.

Sasha and I were getting along rather well up until last night. Things have taken a dramatic downturn, which is pathetic, because after all, this is only the internet.

I don’t come here to fight with people. I come here for a laugh and a bit of light-hearted banter. If things have to be taken so seriously all the time, then it’s a sad reflection of what this forum has become.

I still don't understand what went wrong and how things got out of hand. I guessed that the tale of you and James was a giggle too........ and I assume most of the other members did.

Now I have also been annoyed at some comments by the other member involved but I shan't go into that. I would just rather that be dropped.

Its a new day so lets just start again.

Don't really know what happened last night but i have gathered bits and bobs. Seems peoples have crossed wires on a few 'nothing' posts, but the beauty of a forum is the chance to make things right and iron out such issues.

I can write that much in the morning because a) It had to be said...b) I think fast ... and c) I type faster!...And yeah, it was a joke. I wish James or Sasha had just told me it was bothering them, then all this could have been avoided.

It's probably too late to clear things up, but I've had my say now, and I'm done with the issue. I agree, it's a new day.

You didn't take it too far. It was just taken the wrong way. And, kiz is right, there were far worse things said in the snippets thread, not least about myself.. but, if everyone doesn't take it in the manner it was intended, then it causes problems.

A joke is a joke at the end of the day...... if I find something offensive i report it.

The snippets thread was a outlet for a little fun..... it wasn't serious or malicious. So if anyone found my post offensive then I'm sorry too but nobody said they were hurt or upset.

It seemed to blow up out of nowhere and reading back on the threads today I still can't fathom what went wrong.

This is the problem when people like a joke but then they decide it isnt funny anymore without letting anyone else know about it!

Knowing you of old I doubt that there would have been any malice intended Stropz, and maybe people need to think about the intent of posts before they actually make them.

Everyone on this forum needs to follow the rules irespective of who they are or are not in a relationship with, otherwise it makes the rules a waste of time.

I just hope that new day new smiles applies in this case :cheer:

Since i have come on to TIBB i have done nothing except have a laugh, it is not my intention to have e-fight/e-conflicts with people. Anyone who has objectivity can see everyone of my posts have been about having a joke - there is too much drama in the real world without the need for it in cyberland!

I am new and have no awareness of the history you and other members share. However, if i did it still does not affect me. I have had a laugh over the "rumour" about you and James in the past... and something I too found amusing. I am a tad disapointed it is NOT true as according to you he was good in bed.

It is normal for the jealous e-girlfriend to get angry with her e-bf's lover, it was all part of the joke. A joke i thought you were playing but decided NOT too when it offended you.

If you were offended by the witch comment you couldve u2u'd me and i would have edited it. If you thought it was a geniunue insult then let me assure you "witch" and "dog" are not the insults i would use if i was REALLY affected by your actions and angry at you.

As i was NOT taking you or the whole rumour seriously i didnt viciously insult you with a barrage of swear words or bring in anything REALLY personal about you. A geniunely ANGRY person would have.

In all reality I thought this "e-rift" wouldve been a good next chapter to the Jamesha story plot... The whole time it was going on I was in MSN with James taking the piss out of him and actually trying to see why he didnt meet you as you lived so close. I even asked you in for a 3some (which you sadly declined).

I am assuming your statement was written as you were "spoken to", only cos i was spoken to last night for my "behaviour". I was shocked that moderators intervened in what was obviously a joke and it took it to a next level.

I was also very angry to find out I was given special treatment, I had no idea until about 1.30am that mods were asked NOT to warn me.

Yes I have abused my e-relationship on TIBB but that was only to get new icons and not to avoid the TIBB rules. It was only at that stage I was informed that people were upset that i had insulted you. Up until that stage I assumed it was part of the joke.

As a mod myself, (on another site) this situation couldve been ressolved by a simple u2u to check if it was still a joke OR a u2u saying the joke has got out of hand. However there was none of that and I was oblivious to the fact it was becoming a "drama" becuase the whole time i was viewing James pics in MSN (What a hottie!).

As for me and James, yes it was a little bit of e-fun to start with, to be honest it was never part of the "sasha plan" for him to submit - i like the chase! But over the past week i am glad he has as he is a nice guy and a great e-buddy who i can chat to for ages about everything.

I was banned last night over this for x hours, and decided to leave as i couldnt believe i would get banned for having a laugh. I decided after my ban that TIBB was way to serious for my type of humour and wasnt the place for me. Maybe an over reaction, but people do hasty things when they are angry and upset.

I made the statement here this morning, because I wanted to air my views. I'm not in the habit of going behind people's backs when things are irritating me. That was the main reason for me posting a thread out in the main. I was rather hoping James would respond to it, and to be honest, I'm glad you responded to it. I'm well known here for speaking my mind. It's not always a good thing, but I figure that honesty is the best policy.

I agree with what you said about drama in real life. Also, I'm sure you will agree that jokes sometimes do not come across well on the net, because there are no facial expressions or body language to read, and sometimes things can get misconstrued.

I enjoyed our chats prior to recent events, and would be happy to start over and forget this whole sorry episode. I hope we can move past it, however if you would rather not, then that is obviously your choice.

He has apologised to me to for asking the mods to give me special treatment, when he told me i went ape sh!t as its not right.

He has admitted it to me in private and on here publically. Both occassions he has apologised for it.

As for the text speak, its a habit. But yet again i maintain my stance about not being responsible for the actions of mods. I am ASSUMING that as you are soooo offended by it you reported it when it happend.....(if you didnt, thats your problem and fault!)

If they CHOSE not to warn me, so be it. Take the matter up with them and dont use it as a barrel scraping bandwagon jumping exercise to attack me!

Yes, I think mods should be a bit more lenient with name calling.

Based on such, can you please issue me an official warning for calling stropz a "dog" & "witch" and for also talking in text speak.

I will GLADY take it, as it is TIBB rules not to have a joke or call people silly playground names or talk in "text speak"

Ok.... heres where I stand on this matter, Sasha, i dont think its fair to call the comments on this thread fickle. Everyone has a right to say how they feel. A lot of people were upset and confused at last nights going ons. It was, up to a point, the funniest night on TiBB in a while with the snippets thread.

I still dont see why you posted the split thread but to cause some controversy. I think its an easy option to say that your comments/insults were a joke. I had to bite my tongue last night on many occasions. I'm not a confrontational person. You yourself were joking too in this thread I do believe. Then something changed.

This is only my opinion but I think things changed and started to get nasty when you said "me and James been in MSN the WHOLE time laughing at ur pathetic attempts"

Calling other members pathetic is something I didnt like and this comment made me think that you and James were making a mockery out of us. This might have been unintentional but that just the way I see it.

Through fear of being called fickle, I'm still going to say that I agree whole heartedly with what Kiz said.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that it undermines mods attempts at upholding rules on TiBB, and undermining efforts of members that try to stick to the rules to make TiBB a better place.

I disagree.

I think the support for Stropz has been completely biased and subjective. The posts for this thread make out Sasha to be the guilty party when it is clear to anyone who reads the dispute that it is 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

I read the dispute for a while last night and thought it was an amusing bit of banter, I had no idea people were serious, but for everyone to come whining on this thread holding Sasha responsible is total bulls*** and some of you need your heads checking.

I am not whining Hitman, I'm just getting things off my chest. Of course things are never onesided BUT I have a right to respond to sasha and her comments in this Statement thread.

If you read through I have not mentioned that sasha was wholly responsible... fair from it but a lots of issues were raise from last night that need to be ironed out to clear the air.

Although not directly involved in last nights' e-incidents, I do play a part in this. As Stropz has pointed out in her first post, the whole James & Stropz thing was a personal joke that we had on MSN (Stropz has already explained it all).

I mentioned it on the forum as a joke and a way to wind up Stropz (as I like to do on a regular basis) and didn't think it would cause so much contraversy.

So, I apologise to everyone who took anything I said to be offensive. It wasn't meant to offend anyone and wasn't posted with any intent of malice.

I fully agree, and i too was upset to hear Stropz was offended by what i saw was a joke. She done the adult thing and explained the bigger picture and i done the same.

I did make it up with her about 4pm and hoped this whole saga was over. But I keep coming on hearing peoples 2pence worth and people bring in unrelated topics like spelling and text speak and special treatment.

I cant and wont do anything except laugh and give as good as i get!

If people have a problem with the rules, then complain in admin section and dont barrelscrape/bandwagon jump on me
