Immediately after Andy was given immunity, Hughie went up to Andy and made nice. Is it strategic?

Wouldn't be amazed if it was.

There is already a thread on this, I don't think so, as Hughie said people know who they want to vote out any way beforehand so he just wanted to clear the air, Andy did a similar thing with Teesh before DR nominations as well I didn't think he did it to change her mind about nomming him and it didn't change her mind

Andy spoke with Teesh directly after she had been told off by BB in front of the whole house for talking about nominations... the conversation that BB read to the group included her saying that she knew Andy hated her.
Andy then went into the bedroom straight after to tell her he did actually like her.
The situation yesterday where Hughue told Andy he likes him was not similar .

Yes it was because Hughie had just argued to give Jayne immunity while Andy watched

The only reason Andy got immunity was because half the house voted to target him thinking it was to do with eviction. Then the majority of the house faught for him not to get it. The public voted him as biggest game player and least genuine. How on earth is being on Andy's good side of have any stratigic value?

Hughie came over as very sincere to me in that dialogue with Andy.

And when it backfired and Andy got immunity instead that's when Highie went cap in hand to him.

Yesterday when I saw that clip on line I gave him the benefit of the doubt but after watching the show last night and seeing how Hughie and Lateysha were the most vocal in their determination to eradicate Andy it just confirmed that Hughies best man speech was fake.

It takes 2 to make up and it's my opinion that they both just simply wanted to make up and be friends, hence the i wish we could be friends comments from both of them.

it is allowed to want andy out the house you know, but it was my understanding that hughie accepted alex's point abouit jayne being the one who always wanted to go, so therefore he simply conceded the point and went with what he then thought was the correct decision..no biggie really.

He came across very sincere to me too....he's good, I'll give him that....but I ain't buying it.....the build up to it and all the circumstances around it support the idea that he was not being real.....which actually makes him more interesting cause he's also clearly a player....the hot headed performances were just that, a performance....last night when he had his target in sight he was calm, collected and rational.

I don't buy it myself but I prefer it....I think this Hughie is more interesting ...seeing him thinking instead of shouting is a massive improvement and sets him apart from his mates Ryan and Lateysha....Hughie is more skilled than they are.

What would you have said if they didn't stick up for Jayne? Hughie was in the Others house with Jayne so has a stronger bond, Teesh and Andy don't really click, he wanted to clear the air same as Andy did with Teesh before noms, if Hughie went cap in hand as you say so did Andy, I like both HMs btw so have no axe to grind

Well firstly they did also stick up for Jayne too and secondly she didn't take any of them to one side and start back tracking on what she said....but if she had I would have seen her being strategic which she is and is one of the things I like about her...even though I don't actually like her that much as a person.

i think it's again possible for him to be playing the game by combining the knowledge andy isn't going anywhere this week with the desire not to recieve a nomination from him.

add to that he maybe doesn't hate andy as a 'snake and a liar' as he's so ostentatiously tried to pursuade the voting public/other housemates and a sense that andy might still be less popular than himself, it shows that he has the ability to think, plan, and plot :D which is a vast improvement on the VERY SHOUTY LOUD AND OVER THE TOP OF EVERYONE ELSE tactics he's employed till now. it certainly shows he has more brains that poor little orange plastic ryan.

Hughie had pushed to have Andy targeted .. and then pushed to see he wasn't immune. Andy saw the deliberation on immunity and Hughie knew this.

He wasn't trying to clear the Air .. He is a game player and was trying to cover his butt so Andy wouldn't target him for eviction.

As if Hughie thought that would work :joker: also Andy didn't see Hughie pushing to get him targeted, he and Jayne only saw the immunity deliberations

Hughie says to Andy that he's glad he's got a few more days in the house. How arrogant to assume that's all Andy has left and he'll be gone after that because HE thinks so!

No Andy didn't see Hughie push to target him ... but it wouldn't take much for Andy to figure that out ... And He did know Andy saw the immunity deliberation and that he was 1 one of 2 people against him.

Also notice the 2 weasels in the deliberation let others votes .. and when the first 3 voted for Andy nd it was clear they weren't going to get their way said something along the lines. "well do we need go around and have everyone vote then" Didn't even have the guts to go on record having voted one way or the other.

So now hughie can say say " I never even voted for you not to get immunity don't ya know"

Sly spineless game play .. exactly what he accuses Andy of being the hypocrite

Would been good if BB had insisted they all give reasons but I suppose they couldn't because the formula they were using was their own choice not BB....I wish Jackson had pushed for it though, but can't complain, he did a brilliant job and got the result the majority of housemates wanted.
