I've seen a lot of very famous performers busking in the street at one time or another. Neil Young and Bon Jovi come to mind immediately. I'm all for buskers.

Busking is a legal profession... no one has proof he doesn't have a license
The sidewalk was big enough for this lady and others to go around even with a crowd of people
The store is obviously fully aware he is there...he is using their electricity and probably cut a deal with them.
His playing in front of the store makes people actually stop and notice the window display
If you don't like the music...the tone, sound or volume.... move on lady....the world is big enough
Like bitontheside said... many famous musicians started out this way
And what is the point of life without these small injections of art and culture to uplift us during our busy day.

Hypnotic tones from a British hero
You are so right Paul - as time will show. In years to come - just as the evils and malpractices of Heath, Major, Blair and co. are revealed to turn them from 'heroes to zeroes' - then the TRUTH spoken by Farage, and his NOBLE service to this country, will see him hailed as a TRUELY GREAT BRITISH HERO.
...'It is not clear what she says to the man'
...I can't see how she 'attacked' him, it can't even be heard what it was she said to him because she didn't have a microphone like he did..and he was raising his voice as well into the microphone while addressing her and seemed almost encouraging of the crowd chants...how frightening for her, it was like an angry mob and one elderly lady who obviously had some mobility issues...she may have been a bit grumpy about the space he was using up on the pavement but the 'mob' behaviour was awful and he wasn't the best either in his reactions...

So why did she stand in front of him for ages trying to ruin his performance? If she was so scared why not just hobble off?
..it looked from the vid as though she was trying to talk to him, rather than trying to ruin his performance but he was just dismissing her and raising his voice and shooing her off...

Well if he was dismissing her and shooing her off then maybe she could have possibly taken the hint that he maybe did'nt want to speak to her?
Judging by his and everybody elses reaction i would hazard a guess that she was more likely trying to cause a problem for him.She went up to him not the other way round and she stayed there when it was plainly obvious that her presence in his personal space was'nt welcome

...the reaction hostile/mob-like wouldn't have been there though, had he turned his microphone off and discussed whatever the 'problem' she had with her...none of the crowd knows what was said by her so they don't know whether she was saying anything that was valid, they had no idea what she had said at all..they just absorbed the negativity of the performer, which he was quite encouraging of..and to the point where she was being shouted at by several people, terrifying for her and very badly handled..whatever it was she 'apparently' had issue with, she didn't deserve that at all...

How rude invading his personal space and standing on his belongings while he attempted to entertain, as old as she is she should learn to have a little respect for others who contributed to hear his performance.

Arista do you even know what a delay pedal does?It does'nt boost up the sound. It creates repeats of the sound that is played to create an echo. You can use it to repeat what you've just played or just to create a slight ambience.Maybe you're thinking of a clean boost pedal or an overdrive or distortion pedal which both do boost the sound and/or create either preamp or power amp compression.

It can double the sound
which creates a boost.
Of Course he has a great deal of Amps

If it was that bad and causing any real disturbance he would have had the Police on the case.
I would guess she just didn't like the music he was playing.
So ignore it and walk on by would have been the more appropriate thing to do.

Even if the delay pedal did boost the volume(which it does'nt) it could only go as loud as the amp can.Turning the master volume down on the amp would fix that.
Once an amp hits a certain volume level(its limit)then all that adding boost/OD pedals will do is add more compression I.E a more distorted sound.Guitar amps have a volume limit and once it hits that limit no pedal will actually increase the loudness just the compression. Now most boost/OD pedals do have a volume control to adjust the balance between the volumes of the pedal and the dry amp sound but even then it can't go louder than the amps limit.
In short if it was too loud then the problem was'nt the pedal it was just the fact that he had his amp set too loud.A delay pedal with a volume control(which most don't)only affects the volume of the echo effect but delay pedals don't boost the guitars volume.
Northern Monkey
14-07-2016, 05:22 PM
After watching again his mic does have an echo effect on but that would'nt be the problem either if it was too loud.Just his PA volume.
