View Full Version : New money twist revealed (50K up for grab)

Big Brother yesterday sprung a brand new prize fund twist on the housemates.
Less than 24 hours after Jason Burrill decided to steal £20k of the prize pot for himself - and evict Lateysha Grace in the process - a further £50k was up for grabs from the original £100k total.
And each of the remaining ten housemates had a chance to take a share.
One by one, each housemate was called to the privacy of the Diary Room and asked by Big Brother if they wanted to live 'rich' or 'poor'.
Living rich would see housemate take £5,000 of the prize fund for themselves and enjoy living like a king, with luxury food, drinks and treats.
If however they pick to live poor, they'd not only miss out on the cash but also live like a pauper in the house without even hot water or bedding.

Why must they insist on taking even more money from the cash prize? Still, at least it's £5,000 each instead of one housemate getting £50,000

So if they all go for it just 30,000 left in the prize fund

More drama, I'm guessing Evelyn might be the only one who won't go for it

hehe cool Jason should live like a king then even if evicted Friday (which is doubtful anyway) he would walk away with £20,000 and his head held high :D
But I have a feeling he won't do it

Im guessing only idiots like Ryan and co will pick the luxury angle as he is so thick he wont be able to work out that with the luxury comes penalties.

Why, if it has the potential to cause more drama?
Because the prize fund is for the winner other wise what's the point of all this if they all go home with a nice wad of cash? And I doubt it's gonna cause any drama I'm interested in I would much rather just watch the housemates for once without all the forces drama.

Because the prize fund is for the winner
I want to say the game is changing, but they've been messing around with the prize fund for many years now, even back when it was on C4
other wise what's the point of all this if they all go home with a nice wad of cash?
Not everyone will go home with a wad of cash.
I would much rather just watch the housemates for once without all the forces drama.
I can't think of anything more boring than watching a house where everyone is best friends and there's no drama.

Some people want more from the show than the shallow scream fest that channel 5 have made it.

If it drops too much, they will just win it back like BB16.
The prize fund dropped BY 86,000 last year, but then they won it back + some more.
The series was won by Chloe Wilburn, who won the £116,100 prize fund, the largest prize money in Big Brother UK history, plus £5,000 which she won during Cash Bomb Week
They won around 100k of it back Pretty sure it went under 10k at one point.
Jayne getting £5k for her campaigns

Yes and this is why i think Jason may go for the poor. He's not one bothered by luxuries and we know he doesn't need the money.

I would choose poor. Picking rich is bound to have repercussions.
So we'll be voting for someone to get around about 45k? Not really life changing...

I'm assuming if Jacksok picks the rich option hell spilt the 5k 9 ways?

I could understand why they'd snatch it if it was to take home with them as an actual prize but it's literally like Joel spending £2.5k on a pizza on a weekend-long scale, no? Would be pretty idiotic to take it just for a task for a few days if you don't really get that much of a reward.
I can only really see Ryan and Hughie taking it.

So those two prize plums chose the money and luxury. I hope there's a sting in the take. Both of them up for eviction next week

Just think of the nappies that kind of money could buy for Latysha's baby?

But it's a different set of housemates so the fall-out/outcome probably won't be the same.
Although going by your logic we might as well not do another show because it's been done before..
