View Full Version : Mixed format: how would feel if...

The housemates nominated each week as normal. The public votes amongst the ones they want to stay (or evict). Then on Friday, the housemates vote between the bottom two and ultimately make the decision.
This mixes the UK format and the US formats together. It comes after tonight's eviction was somewhat a success to some people.
Would you be here for this being a permanent format change?

I can smell another 8 pages debate over the BBUS format

I actually wouldn't mind it? Tonight was far more tense than normal evictions

I'm undecided about the format but just wish this show (BBUK) would stick to one of them instead of this picking and choosing whenever it suits them.

I liked the way tonight was done, and obvious boot Laura stayed so I'd be here for it?

Yes this tbh.
If it keeps my favourites around when they're destined for their demise then let's roll with it :clap1:
Maybe now and again, but it'd give the house majority too much power if they get to choose who to put up and who to evict

Yes, my favourite part of the US format is the house vote and tonight was proof of why so I would settle for this

It wouldn't have the same effect if the HMs nominated as well cause we would see who got the most noms etc
And to get a decent amount up they would have to do like everyone with 1 non
But I did really enjoy and think it should happen like twice every season, maybe with everyone up again though

I liked it tonight, but having it every week would probably get annoying, even for those who are for the format.

You still couldn't play that strategically though, it really needs to be entirely one or the other

The best compromise IMO is to have an HoH comp, winner noms three people, Veto takes place as usual and then the public vote to save one, leaving the final two to face a house vote. And then you just give the UK a jury vote at the end of the series

Either go 100% one way or the other. People might be surprised about how much they may enjoy the US format. You need live feeds though of course to enjoy the US format to the fullest.

I like that actually.

The house vote is often boringly predictable. It's going with what the house wants, and nearly everyone knows in advance who is going anyway, often including the person going. The pleas are nearly always pointless dressing, and just give away who's going anyway. The HGs just go to the DR, give a name and leave. The gameplay element is nothing like as cut-throat as Survivor, if you're at the bottom of the pecking order in BB it's very likely you'll stay there.
The best part is really the competitions, when they aren't random things that are decided by chance anyway. Competitions/tasks that actually matter are good, though of course they often don't show them live lol which weakens the idea.

I'm not sure, because if that format were to happen this season, a lot of the good housemates who have managed to get far under unlikely circumstances would have gone early. You just have to look at the people have got the lowest nominations this season to see that it might not work out that well.
