This task shows that BB wants Hughie to win. BB brought all vile former housemates (close friends of Hughie and the sworn rivals of Jason) to the house and harass, bully, insult him to the point, he wants to leave.
It's not entertaining to watch actual breakdowns of with real emotions.
Whereas Ryan, Lateysha, Hughie, and Jayne's breakdowns were fake and just for cameras.
All BB promotion of Hughie is so lame, and against the premise of the show.

It's not Hughie's fault that Jason made enemies and he didn't!

the task was designed to attack one person..
they hated jason only for the reason that he was the nicest guy and may win the show.
they made so many false accusations against jason and all ganged up on him.
jason did not make enemies, the gang chosen jason as their enemy.

They saw / still see Jason as an authority figure and these entitled, spoilt cretins who have never seen that in their shallow little lives don't like that.
Endemol is enabling certain ex-housemates just like the Celebrity Chef is enabling his Son.
I think it helped Jason's chances more. Everyone is feeling sorry for him.
I honestly think they want Jason to win, they want a controversial winner.
Saturday's episode was so against Hughie, but you're not a fan of him so you wouldn't notice.

On the other hand you could argue that they brought them in to boost sympathy for Jason? I haven't seen the ep but going on what you have said

..yeah I think this as well..I do think that it was wrong for BB to do what they did but because of it's unfairness, I think that it's very much going to work in favour of Jason, rather than against him...they knew that Hughie wouldn't really be 'highlighted' with this and not being highlighted at this stage is not really any advantage, I don't feel...

They want him to win to promote his upcoming family tv show, pretty obvious isn't it.
I think it helped Jason's chances more. Everyone is feeling sorry for him.

This....
Anyone else would have been kicked out for his reaction.

I don't think Hughie was 'accused' of anything was he? Don't think I saw him in the witness box - so the OP may well be right...
The Gobby Toddler was most probably brought back for the value of his Hughie tattoo and pathetic handcuff stunt...

That's bull.
In fact, Hughie not being shown is detrimental to his win. He won't win anymore, Jason or Andy will. I note that Jason and Andy are closing in on him in the bookies because Jason would get a huge surge of votes when lines open again.
Not showing Hughie most likely means they DON'T want him to win. In a Vote to WIN, showing a lot of HM helps you a lot.

He was. He was accused of being confrontational.
I'm glad we didn't get to see his because we didn't have to see Ryan again.
I'm guessing his, Sam and Alex's ones were not interesting to watch.

Thanks for the clarification. I should pay closer attention, but as I have no interest in Hughie I probably miss a lot where he is concerned. All I want at the moment is for Alex to go...

Hughie hasn't made any enemies that have left the house bar Natalie and she would've come for Jayne not Hughie. Jason made everyone of those who hate him (Lateysha, Ryan and Charlie) an enemy on his own accord. He should deal with the consequences of his actions

Last night's episode suggests they want Jason to win (or get the grannies who feel sorry for him to vote and give them more revenue)

Yeah, cos how dare he evict Latyesha the poor single Mum. How dare he nominate Ryan the annoying gob****e and Charlie who was making his life a misery. What an asshole. Get real!

Hughie and his team were all over the place with the court task .Jayne implied that Jason's game playing side came out when he pressed the buzzer for the 20K, Jason should have pointed out to her if that is the case then she is standing between two other Hms that pressed the buzzer for 20K...Hughie and Jackson...gameplayers?
Then it was Jackson who took the 5k but he wasn't game playing he was only thinking about his son ...right!
Hughie is one massive contradiction , he is do as I say but he does what he wants, proved in the last task when he decide he was eating the food for the other Hms and not going to jail as directed by BB.

Wrong...they hate Jason...Jason didn't hate them, which is why he was shocked and sometimes hurt when he found out about what they were all saying behind his back in the diary room....and the main reason they hate him is because they see him as an authoritarian figure because of his age, his manner and his sex.....they're not used to having to show respect to anyone because they haven't been raised properly

Whoever wins is who BB wants to win.
Hughie is not a bad bet though as Viacom's winners have been kind of shall I say on the Ch4 side of dull lately, and Hughie would be their "Nadia" moment in having a non straight, non English, and lively winner that isn't deemed as too unlikable like Helen Wood was in BB15.
Basically a great winner with a balance on likability and entertainment value, it's what made Nadia and Brian Dowling as top notch winners for BB.

So they want hughie to win by getting hughie's mates in to attack Jason and make people feel bad for him?
This theory wasn't very well thought out was it.

Putting aside weather it's true or not....can anyone explain why BB want Hughie to win....or indeed, why BB want any specific housemate to win ? What difference does it make once they've got their stealers on the cash and legged it ?
Or hughie has entertained us and kept himself relevant to the show and its numerous storylines...he is popular, get over it
Jealousy is a terrible thing.

It doesnt matter how much BB promote a housemate if the general public dont like them they wont vote for them. If however the gp find a housemate entertaining either for the right or wrong reasons they usually ( with the exception of the few bores that won) get behind them and vote for them. BB can show Hughie 99 per cent of the time and the other housemates only one but if people dont like him they wont vote for him. I have warmed to him which I never thought I would say and got a bit fed of with Jason which again I never thought I would say. Every year people say BB are pushing a housemate towards a win with good edits etc but you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink

Why do you think BB would push one housemate over another ? In this case Hughie over Andy, Jason and Jayne

Sorry riona, it was more a hyperthetical question which prob you may not know any more than me
I'm just curios why people think BB would want or need to steer one housemate to winning over another....it's not like any of the last six are the elephant man or have a scandal to hide....maybe there's a simple reason but I've never worked it out.

What I understand even less is how any numpty could have their own opinion changed by BB anyway...they could lock Andy in the cupboard under the sink between now and the final and I'd still vote for him
Or hughie has entertained us and kept himself relevant to the show and its numerous storylines...he is popular, get over it
I can't recall one story line about Hughie himself of any relevance. :conf: All I recall is him yelling and raving about something or other, and I can't even remember what, that's how relevant it was. Every scene has become just one big shouty blur.
Oh, didn't he fall drunk on purpose into the pool? His highlight :hee:
Who IS Hughie? Has he been seen having a proper conversation with anyone apart from some slurpy nonsense with Ryan?
I liked Hughie a lot at first but the one trick pony ranter quickly became tiresome. What has he done, really, of any significance whatsoever?
