Finally a winner who isn't vapid and fame seeking. He's a normal guy who's been through the war of life and he deserves this.

He looks like he needed something like this to make him feel like life was worth living again, its a real dreams can come true story. He would have never dreamt this would happen!

Just brilliant...I really didn't believe he would win...but I threw a few votes his way because he was my winner. When we heard it was only 0.5% in it I threw a few more... Hughie has been the favourite since Lateysha was evicted and I thought it was a hopeless cause. However it just goes to show that human decency recognises a truly decent guy who has had a lot of **** thrown his way when he never did anything wrong. He was even decent enough to wish Charlie well despite her calling him such vile names...a real gent and a great winner.
Hughies not a bad guy apart from his temper..had he had to deal with the crap Jason had to deal with he would have no doubt been thrown out.
A great night for human decency :cheer2:

Pleased, though I wanted Andy to win, once he was out of the running I voted a lot for Jason as it was so close. I think that prob happened a lot, and it was worth it! :cheer2: We got 'one of our own' as a winner and the clique must be spitting mad! :hee:

Extremely pleased!

As they ousted the housemates tonight, I kept thinking back to when Helen won. They both had similar opinions of them by the majority of their housemates and the public. When both won, I felt ecstatic that the underdog, the non-cool one had prevailed.

Another great result!!!

One note: I wish Jayne had finished second.

Devastated since I had three chances to strike gold and crown this series my favourite since BB7 :o and now that's down the drain

He's by no means a terrible winner though, I'm just bitter it ruined the ending of an incredible series

I don't mind that he won, when I think about if Jackson had won and how bitter I'd have been! I'm kind of 'meh' about it though, just because he isn't someone who defined the series for me personally, but that's often the case with BB winners anyway. But he's alright.

He's a surprising winner though, and I suppose it's pretty great that him winning has defied the idea that whoever has the most twitter followers etc will win, and to have an older winner is also pretty great. (A Jayne win would have also covered those areas though :( )

'Tis the type of gesture Judas would have made to Christ had the false charges against Jesus been dropped and the crucifixion never occurred.

Or Brutus, had Caesar survived the Ides of March.

No - Ryan is far worse than Brutus, because Rat Boy would have hugged Caesar then asked him for his knife back. :hee:

This tbh I've really enjoyed this series so I'm gonna choose to look back on my favourite housemates and moments. I can debate about Jason for years after this but I doubt people are gonna change their minds and I'm really not here for him becoming a Helen wood figure you pops up in debate year after year.

It was just a formality tbh I didn't look too deep into it but I just brought it up because someone made a comment suggesting that housemates were being immature or petty on bots when really I think they were all just accepted that he won.

Very disappointed.
Someone who asks to leave 3/4 times should NOT win...

Does the hounds cry to quit the hunt?
Does the School bully ask to leave the playground?
Does the violent abusive husband beg to quit his marriage?

No - it is ONLY the VICTIMS who try in despair, to escape from their tormentors.

Although insincere attempts to 'escape' the BB House, and fake 'Diary Room' pleas to be "allowed to leave", have become part of the repertoire of a lot of 'Game Playing' melodramatic HM's, Jason's attempts to 'leave' were not histrionics, but instead were desperate pleas for help, from a man being unjustly harassed and bullied, who did not know how to deal with it.

For Jason was 'set up' by the BB producers, who were content to sacrifice him upon the altar of commercialism, to appease their Gods who are the viewing public.

He was verbally assaulted and emotionally blackmailed by his ex-girlfriend because she is psychologically and emotionally unbalanced, and verbally abused by lesser HM's who unfairly isolated and shunned him, and disliked him for no valid reason - because the truth is, that he did not do anything bad to any of them.

And all the time, this quiet, introverted giant of a man unfairly suffered.

He squirmed in embarrased frustration and fought back tears, as - hampered by his shyness AND his awareness that they were on public TV - he stumbled to reason with that demented harpy, Charlie, as she repeatedly and shamelessly tried to bully him into taking her back, then exploded into manic outbursts when he 'tactfully' declined to do so.

With only the articulated support of the admirable Andy, and the less animated support of Alex, Jason was treated like a pariah, a leper by the rest of the house - for no valid reason - and HE knew it.

Jason does not have a countenance which could ever be described as 'happy', and there is a haunted sadness in his eyes, but as the series progressed, this benign, decent man, began to physically show the results of the unfair abusive treatment he was receiving daily from the other HM's, and he had a look of wounded resignation; like a poor dog who has been systematically abused by his bestial owner over many years - a look which says; "I am hurting, but I cannot do anything about it" , a look which says; "I am ready to be kicked again".

The great British viewing public, however, have a great propensity for the TRUTH - no matter how well obscured it may be among the B.S. 'razzamatazz, lies, and bad-acting of certain BB HM's, and they will always 'feel' for the underdog and 'sympathise' and support the abused victim, rather than 'swallow' the hype of the abusers, bullies, and perpetrators.

THIS is why the psychologically disturbed toxic bitch Charlie suffered an early eviction, and EXACTLY why Jason WON the show, the money, and the plaudits.

Jason won. It may not be a truth which some like, but truth it is. The 'Best Man Won'.

I don't mind, I would've rather saw Jayne or Andy win but so long as Jackson didn't take the crown I could have accepted any of the remaining 5 as the winner. For once we had a second pretty good line up of finalists.

I didn't know how I would feel about Jason winning up until they were the last three/two. Then I knew I want him over Hughie. So I'm happy with it.
He has shown maturity, decency and went through a lot of **** in the house. A deserving prize for a good person.

Decent enough bloke

Boring HM, very quiet and sulky with lots of repressed rage behind his eyes

Don't believe the whole 'shock' story of him and Charlie both having 'no idea whatsoever' that they were BOTH about to be on the same BB, even though they were both in contact and slept together during the months of the whole BB selection process

Still quite like him though; but as a winner, he is one of the boring floater winners like Sam

Out of the final 6, he was my 5th choice to win

While that sounds bad, I'm neutral about him winning? Sure, I would've preferred it if Jayne or Evelyn (or both, and they split it into £35k  ) won, but they didn't and tbf Jason is a deserving and decent winner, albeit the fact that I like him less than I did a few weeks ago
