View Full Version : Is there a tie-break procedure?
In the very unlikely case 2 or more housemates get the same amount of votes on an eviction, what happens then?

The producers decide?

That's highly unlikely.

I doubt it will ever happen, the probability is very low. If I remember Lisa vs Sara was so close that producers did come up with a tie break procedure so I assume they'll use that (I guess the HMs decide?)

In the event of a tie, Big Brother’s decision as to the outcome of the Vote and/or the method of determining the outcome of the Vote is final and binding.

Wasn't the closest we've ever had to a tiebreaker Wolfy vs. Hazel where there were only 150 votes separating them both?

Yeah X Factor has something in their T&C's about this too when crowning the winner, I remember reading it a few years ago
Basically if the vote is tied they aggregate all of the previous votes cast for the two finalists across the weeks to determine the winner, and if that vote still ties (yes there's a contingency plan for that too), then the judges determine who win. There wasn't anything to say what would happen if it went to deadlock though :worry:

i mean it could tie these days, how many votes do they get in a normal eviction? Like 40?

Didn't BB15's final only get like 300k votes :worry:

I have a further idea which may work..
In the audition, the person had the most yes's from the judges wins?
if not that, rock paper scissors
Epic.

I have a feeling Jack vs Simon was so close last year that they decided to re-open the lines, but that's just a theory I have.
Another rule I noticed is: Housemates are not allowed to nominate themselves or an inanimate object.
Imagine the scene...
I wish to nominate Bob, my blue bed, as he's been really uncomfortable recently.

Didn't Kitten try to nominate the statue in BB5? :joker:

Didn't Kitten in BB5 try to nominate 'Big Sister' and the statue in the garden?
I'm sure they can nominate inanimate objects. Alex got a few noms this series, didn't he?

I would imagine they'd keep the vote open an extra minute and not tell anyone
