View Full Version : The TiBB Reality Ranking 2k16 [fin.] [ranking begins pg. 8]
It’s December, which can mean one thing and one thing only – it’s time for this thing which I’ve only done once before and am now declaring to be annual because why not? or The TiBB Reality Ranking (now with even less randomness) if you’re nasty!
So, those of you with a decent memory might recall that this time last year, I ran The TiBB Reality Ranking 2k15, a search to find TiBB’s favourite reality star of the year. In the end, Janice Dickinson won out over Brittnee Blair, because of course she did. Turns out that it went ok by my standards, so I’ve decided to do it all over again (except for 2k16, because that’s how these things work). After all, with such horrors as Gold Stars vs. New Stars, Survivor: Game Changers, some talent show based around Gary Barlow and somehow yet more series of The Voice and The Jump on the horizon, I thought now would be a nice time to reflect on a mostly good year of reality telly before it all goes to pot. Therefore, I present to you:
http://i.imgur.com/PtGmXzG.png
Yeah my logo-making skills are still as **** as they were last year, what of it?
We’re all a year older and wiser (lol) but the rules remain more-orless the same: pick up to 30 of your favourite contestants from reality TV shows which have aired in the past year and PM them to me in a nice little list. I'll tally up the results and present them in a... way. I'm not sure which. The only real stipulation is that the people you nominate have to be from a competition show (i.e. one that they were eligible to win), so no Real Housewives of Widnes or the like. I’ve got a lot of eligible shows in the logo itself (BB, I'm a Celeb, Love Island, X Factor, Strictly, Bake Off, Survivor, Amazing Race, Drag Race… you get the idea), but if you want to pick something virtually unheard of like Albania’s Next Top Potato Carver, feel free. Also I’m aware that some shows haven’t ended yet, but by the time voting closes, the likes of I’m a Celeb and X Factor will have ended and the likes of The Apprentice, Survivor and Strictly will be near enough to ending that you should have a pretty good idea of who you like by that. Also also, I’m aware that America’s Next Top Model begins a new cycle in a week or two, but they’re just being difficult. Anyway. Please rank these people from 30 points (your favourite reality star of 2k16) to 1 point (your thirtieth favourite reality star of 2k16). If you wish to pick fewer than 30 people, feel free to do that too. For example, if you only rank 22 people, you’d give your top reality personality 22 points and so on and so forth.
As with last year, the current plan is that anyone nominated by two or more people will qualify. I’ve got no maximum number of people I’m allowing to qualify just yet, but let’s put it at around 75 for now. Also as with last year, I’ll be doing a write-up for each person ranked, and since I’ve actually watched most of the shows this year, that task might be a little easier. However, because this is your countdown and I’m not one to hog the limelight, I’m also delegat-I mean opening up the floor to you lot. If there’s anyone you feel so passionate about that you want to tell the world about them in the form of a short write-up, then that’ll be more than welcome. I’ll post a list of the qualifiers as they, well, qualify for anyone who wishes to be as kind as to do this. If not, then I’ll bull**** my way through 75-odd write-ups (write-ups? Writes-up? idk)
Nominations will provisionally close on Friday 16th December and there may be a repechage round afterwards to make up the numbers. The countdown itself will be held sometime in the week before Christmas, aka whichever night TiBB Xmasvision or Most Loved or whatever aren’t on. And fingers crossed that TiBB won’t go down for several hours during the middle of it this time x
Feel free to ask any questions because this is probably as clear as mud. Now, get nominating! Or not! It’s really up to you tbh!

Is there a list to nominate from?
Is there a list to nominate from?
Nope, you can pick from any contestant from any show this year (within the limitations I specified in the OP, that is)
Here's a non-exhaustive list of shows you could nominate from, though:
The Amazing Race
American Idol
The Apprentice
Big Brother UK
Big Brother US
Big Brother: Over the Top
Big Brother Canada
Britain's Got Talent + international variants
Celebrity Big Brother
The Great British Bake Off
I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! + international variants
The Jump
Love Island
Project Runway
RuPaul's Drag Race
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
Strictly Come Dancing + international variants
Survivor + international variants
The Voice + international variants
The X Factor + international variants
(I've probably forgotten half the shows eligible)

I just reread sorry
I'm limiting it to people from competition shows (sorry), because otherwise there'd be thousands of qualifiers and we'd never get anywhere :p If any Real Housewives etc have competed in a reality show where they've been eligible to be eliminated/win, like Celebrity Apprentice, BB, Dancing With the Stars and so and so forth, then yep, that's fine
(It's a bit of a complicated system I've drawn up, I know)

I'm holding out hope that this doesn't follow the 2016 trend of harrowing voting results but yes I will be on the campaign trail to get her in it!
I'd offer to do one for miss Charlie Doherty but I'm sure you'll write a gorgeous one for her anyway.

I'm going to cap the number of people in this at 70, which means that the (currently) 12 lowest ones will be entered into an exciting little bootcamp-esque poll that only 2 can survive/make it through to the ranking. Before that, I'll post a list of everyone who's qualified, with the people in ~jeopardy~ bolded, so those who are kind enough to send in any write-ups can do so (in other words, I'm milking this for all it's worth)
Anyway, under six hours left! -glares at Ross-

Pick up to 30 of your favo reality TV stars of the year (specification of my very confusing rules can be found in the OP and probably several other places in the thread too), put them in some kind of order - preferably 30 points to 1 - and PM them to me. I add everyone's points up and present the results in a hopefully quite visually appealing form
Here's (http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/topic-293781-the-tibb-random-reality-ranking-2k15-top-90-countdown-now-pg-7_other-reality-tv.htm) last year's one (which I think you might have voted in?)
And if you can't think of 30 for some reason, then either throw some random names in there (COUGH THE ENTIRE CAST OF AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR COUGH) or rank a number-below-30-of-your-choice instead

Here's (http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/topic-293781-the-tibb-random-reality-ranking-2k15-top-90-countdown-now-pg-7_other-reality-tv.htm) last year's one (which I think you might have voted in?)
Oh I just sent mine and numbered them 1 - 30 (instead of points). Also still happy to do a write up for Emma if she qualifies!
When will results be revealed :dazzler:
At the moment, I'm planning to have the results reveal on Thursday (giving time for the mass cull and any write-ups to be sent in), and basically it'll be whichever time doesn't clash with TiBB Eurovision/anything else that night :worry: I know it's a busy time of year for these things, but it's that or after Christmas
Oh I just sent mine and numbered them 1 - 30 (instead of points). Also still happy to do a write up for Emma if she qualifies!

And here are the 25 (a number chosen because that's the maximum number of options a poll can have. I think) who were the bottom 25 in terms of points, and whose fates now lie in your hands. You'll notice that Ed Balls is in this group and Nancy's in the other because that's what that thing I just did was. Again, in alphabetical order:
Alyssa Edwards
Anastacia
Benjamina Ebuehi
Chloe Khan
Christopher Maloney
Ed Balls
Four of Diamonds
Frankie Grande
Joe Del Campo
John Partridge
Julia Sokolowski
Kryssie Ridolfi
Liz Markham
Lucy and Trip Hazard
Malin Andersson
Morgan Willett
Michelle Meyer
Rebecca Jeffrey
Sarah Harding
Selasi Gbormittah
Sharry Ash
Sue Clarke
Tiffany Rousso
Victoria Coren-Mitchell
Whitney Hogg
From this group, only four can go through to the ranking since that's how maths works*. I'll post a poll soon from which you can choose who they are! Yay democracy!

TARCan4 is *ESSENTIAL* viewing for anyone who is a fan of BBCan1 or fans of Jemmett or both. Basically every episode ends with Jillian either having a shrieking meltdown or SCREAMING at Emmett and berating him with some iconic line ("I'M FED UP WITH NO TEAMWORK!!!!!!!" is my personal favorite), or both if we're lucky. The part that's left out of the bagel gif above is the part where Jillian runs away hysterically sobbing and just screaming at Emmett HONEY I'M SO SOREY :( :( :(

So, 24 hours later, the four reality TV-ers completing the ranking are:
Anastacia
Benjamina Ebuehi
Rebecca Jeffrey
Tiffany Rousso
Thanks guys  And to the 21 who didn't get through, you're all disgusting trash and should be ashamed of yourselves, etc etc
.
To anyone planning to do so, by the way, you've got until the day of the ranking to send in write-ups :)
Due to my poor planning and impractical scheduling (I'm away today and Friday, and if I did the show tomorrow then I'd be pushing anyone who has considered doing a write-up for time, plus I'd be clashing with TiBB XmasVision), the ranking will go up late afternoon/early evening on Christmas Eve (I know, I know), so feel free to waste the most wonderful time of the year reading this instead
ps tomorrow I'll do a run-through of some of the people who didn't manage to qualify, to... idk, whet your palates
So how does the voting for this work? Thanks!
So how does the voting for this work? Thanks!
It's closed now (sorry!), but it's a ranking of your favourite reality stars from the year, from 30 points to 1 point
Having said that, I'm sure I could still accept votes if you pick from the long spoilered list up the page + the four who qualified afterwards (Anastacia, Benjamina, Rebecca and Tiffany Rousso), because then nobody new would qualify and all your vote would do is change the order slightly, which would be fine. So feel free to do that :) I'll then make it more clear that voting's closed so I don't confuse people
Oh awesome! So would I rank the top 30 and PM that to you?
Pick your favourite 30 from the list in post #137 + the other four and rank them in a PM, yep :)
Sweet will do that now, thanks MB! :D

And you don't have to actually send a write-up either, just if you've got five minutes and fancy getting your opinions out there :p If there are any Bake Off/Love Island/BB/I'm a Celebrity people you'd like to write about then that would be super lovely, but don't feel any pressure to one just because of me leaving it til the last minute (I've written a lot of write-ups but I can easily replace them with one of yours)

Willkommen, bienvenue and welcome to The TiBB Reality Ranking 2k16! Our journey began nearly a month ago, and since then, several thousand reality stars (idk, probably) have been reduced to just 80, via a process that was far too complicated for its own good. Now, it's time to reveal those 80 - well, again - and to announce the order in which you've ranked them. Most will have write-ups, some of which were written by you lot, and although all reality stars are created equal, some are more equal than others and some write-ups will be longer than others. Heck, some might not exist at all.
I can promise that there will be ties, there will be tantrums, there will be shocks (for example, if you've bet your life savings on Gleb from Celebrity MasterChef to win, you'll be leaving a poor man), and most of all, there will be reality stars. But who will come out on top? It's time to find out. But first? A performance from one of the year's top reality stars... is something you won't be seeing because we couldn't book anybody good. Instead, here's Sandi from Gogglebox.

Benjamina’s time on Bake Off was probably best remembered for whatever the thing she had with Mr. Steal Your Girl himself Selasi was, and regardless of the fact that there was almost definitely nothing romantic there in the slightest, us Bake Off fans do love to project a good romance onto unwilling participants. Isn’t that right, Diana and Norman? Anyway, the fact that Benjamina has qualified for this ranking and Selasi hasn’t probably speaks some volume as to which of the two you lot prefer just that bit more. Despite winning Star Baker once and establishing herself as one of the judges’ top bakers for a further two rounds, our Benji eventually came unstuck with her Mexican Adventure Savoury Pies in Tudor Week (I swear to god what even is this show), allowing lesser such as Jane and Andrew to sneak through instead. Thankfully, she left enough of an impression to sneak through into the ranking, albeit in the lowest possible position. Good job!

God love a good useless Apprentice candidate. After last year’s #23 placer and all-round g.oddess (until she campaigned for Brexit, after which I dropped her like a cold bag of sick /beahamill) Elle Stevenson set the bar high by being in the losing team for six weeks in a row, not one but two of this year’s contestants decided they’d quite like to challenge this record. In the end, Frances and Rebecca only managed to tie Elle’s impressive feat, but whilst Frances went on to redeem herself via means of a questionably-quiffed badger, Rebecca… did not. Over the course of her time on The Apprentice, Rebecca indeed became the joint-most losingest candidate in history, being dragged into the first boardroom of the series, being tricked into not voting for herself to be PM by Jessica (<3), doing… lol nothing in the next two tasks yet still losing, and finding herself in the boardroom once again during the cycling task – after which Lord Sugar told her she had to Step It Up (feat. Dave Audé). What did Rebecca do? Well, if you watched this year’s Apprentice, the words “black African soap” should mean something to you. And thus, Rebecca was unceremoniously dumped in the same week as Elle. Ah well. These things can’t last forever. Unless you’re, like, any other female in the cast who isn’t Michelle or Natalie, in which case you can keep completely ****ing up all the way to interviews!

You’ve proved you’re not outta love with Anastacia by not only not leaving her outside alone, but by giving her a spot in the top 80 reality TV contestants of 2k16. Surely things were sure to run smoothly for this early 00s gay icon who still insists on warbling like she’s coughing up a hairball? Well, erm… about that. Anastacia’s rocky road began when she was partnered with Brendan Cole when she first fell into the dance-off in week two, a week in which she just so happened to have suffered an injury and torn her mastectomy scar following her last battle with breast cancer. Due to this injury, she was deemed unable to re-do the dance, and instead some bloke from Kiss FM was voted out. Did the British public react to this turn of events with compassion and understanding? Lolno. It was a shitstorm, my friends, and maybe the darkest Strictly moment since that time Laila Rouass had one too many spray tans and Anton called her a Pak-no never mind. You’d have thought Anastacia had paid her dues by now, but the worries were to persist. After making it through Movie Week on sympathy votes (she had to do a dance dressed as Kristen Stewart. It was creepy), she was in the dance-off the following round, in which she was now able to compete and completely destroy some bint from BBC Breakfast. Of course, at that point, a sick and tired Brendan went and nearly died, so Anastacia had to have a spare partner for her next dance, which ended up giving her her highest score of the entire show. One week later, Brendan returned and brought his hoverboard with him. He and Anastacia were duly eliminated. I’ll end this write-up here because I can’t think of any more puns.

The name Nancy Dell’Olio is a legendary one in UK reality TV circles, be it the time she emerged from a coffin holding a glass of wine and flashed her vagina at Len Goodman on Strictly, or… well, I can’t think of anything at the moment, but I’m sure there are plenty of other projects she’s done (poor Sven). That’s why Nancy’s Celebrity Big Brother stint would prove to be so hotly anticipated by everyone, or at least it would within the confines of my mind – would she and Kristina have a Strictly European battleaxe alliance? Would she and Angie fall out over the title of the only starfuucker in the village? How many days in would she be medically evacuated for liver failure? – and yet in reality prove to be so disappointing. Of course, being Nancy Dell’Olio, no appearance of hers can truly be disappointing as such. Just think back to how she spent the first live feed session of the series, five minutes after the launch, talking about how much she hates the house and everyone in it and would like to leave right now thank you. Or think back to when she got locked in jail in the garden for… some reason and threatened to call her lawyers on Big Brother. These were the kinds of things that would have been a given from Nancy Dell’Olio anywhere else, so the fact that they’re her highlights might make you wish that she’d been utilised a little more as a character, and not just somebody to pop up five minutes before her eviction lip-syncing to Hello. We salute you, Nancy. Hic. Or more specifically, Shaun salutes you. I’ll let him take this one:
Somehow scrambling her way into our hearts - because she sure as **** didn't do it in January when it mattered - the former "person who shagged Sven Goran Eriksson for a bit", and somehow there have been three on Celebrity Big Brother now, although I've always had my doubts about Ben Adams, ended up cruelly evicted second. Would she have gone much further in a Vote to Evict series? I hear you pine, and the answer is "yeah probably", but I'm sure we can all agree that CBB17 didn't miss her too much. I of course am meant to be singing her praises, though, and what better example of Nancy's Majesty than her lipsyncing performance with Angie Bowie to Adele's "Hello"? Don't even try to deny that you cried. She hid some wine, she swatted away Winston McKenzie's advances and she admitted that the entire world is intimidated by her - which is probably why you've only put her [POSITION HERE, I AM PRESUMING IT'S NOWHERE ABOVE 60].

I don’t blame the Big Brother producers for trying to recreate a bit of the magic they somehow landed on the previous summer. Of course, they could have done this by bringing back, say, the likes of Vanessa and Audrey (and Jackie lol <3) rather than James, Da’Vonne and Vanessa’s sister, but with the show as it is, you’ll take whatever you can get and there were much worse options available. Having said that, the former two were weak versions of their former selves, and the latter barely lasted long enough to make her mark. Why, I hear you ask? Because her fellow housemates were too paranoid that Tiffany would turn out to be just as neurotic as her sister. And, I mean, they were right, but give the girl a chance why don’t you. To her credit, Tiffany wasn’t the first out (that honour fell to Glenn, now known by his official moniker, #GlennExposedParty) and also managed to survive the chop for the next three rounds, despite being the Roadkill nominee in week two and Bridgette’s target in week four. Eventually, Tiffany’s time ran out when P**lie won HoH, and she later lost the Battle Back to Victor, marking the end of this Rousso’s stint on Big Brother. But on the bright side, I’m sure we all look forward to seeing a three-year old cousin of the Roussos on BB19. Or something.

Kristie’s entry marks the first Australian Survivor cast member to rank on this list. Now, I appreciate that most of you will not have watched a second of Australian Survivor, and many of you will be wondering what an Australian Survivor is and whether or not it can crawl up your toilet whilst you’re sat on it. But let me telling you that you’re missing out on not only of 2k16’s best reality TV seasons (lol as if there’s a great deal of competition), but perhaps 2k16’s greatest reality TV winner arc. Or second greatest, if you’re a proud member of Alana’s Angels. More on her later. But no, Kristie Bennett’s journey to the title of Australian Sole Survivor, in a season which many doubted at first and was frustrating at the best of times, helped to shape the show itself. We first saw Kristie in episode two, when she had a random OTTN meltdown over somebody intentionally hiding her bag, even though it later emerged that said bag was still wherever she’d left it. This, to fans of the wider Survivor canon, is known as ‘doing an Abi-Maria’. This clearly set her apart from her fellow castaways and made her a sure pick for the next elimination… and yet she wasn’t. She cleverly aligned herself with the women on her tribe and rode this alliance until the merge-which-wasn’t-a-merge, where she joined the dissolved Vavau tribe. The fact that this turned out to be one of the losingest tribes in Survivor history couldn’t stop Kristie, and she took advantage of one of the show’s many bull**** twists by blindsiding her ally Phoebe at the final pre-merge tribal council. Despite being the only remaining Vavau against ten(!) Sanaapu members at the jury stage, Kristie worked her way into the majority. She was laughed at by the jury for not flipping on the physical threats in her alliance, yet proved them wrong by winning the final crucial Immunity Challenge. The jury walked into Final Tribal Council not expecting to vote for her to win (and since there was only one other person to vote for, it wasn’t looking great), and yet she managed to completely change her perceptions of them by laying out every part of her 55-day game, giving her the win. Somehow. Anyway, now she’s somewhere in Las Vegas, stalking the cast of Millennials vs. Gen X and casually sneaking into the back of their photos, safe in the knowledge that she’s richer than most of them. Queen tbh.

From the sublime to the less-sublime now, as – well, I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t the most avid viewer of this most recent run of I’m a Celebrity, largely because it was dull as all hell, but this particular inclusion did surprise me a little – Ola Jordan has qualified. Now, me personally, I would have thought that they whole being-married-to-James-Jordan-of-her-own-volition thing would have ruled her out permanently, but apparently she must have done something right. Either that, or this year’s I’m a Celebrity cast was so poor that you’ll take what you can get in terms of favourites. Who can say? Still, I’m sure that in and amongst the Martin/Larry/Danny middle-aged men drama, a small vibrant Polish woman was a welcome addition to the jungle, even if she only managed to muster up 4.89% of the vote to save. Luckily for her, she’s probably got a calendar out, and you might be seeing a lot more of her if her arse of a husband goes back into the Celebrity Big Brother house next month. What a joy that’ll be (by the way, these two entries are probably the most emblematic of the disparities between the lengths of the write-ups you’ll see tonight. I promise that if there was more I could have said about Ola Jordan, I would have done)

Known to 90s British sitcom fans as the leopard print-wearing, Madonna karaoke-singing cougar Dorien Green in Birds of a Feather and known to BBUK fans as a perennial Bit on the Side favourite (including that time she was on the same panel as Bianca Del Rio. What a bizarre show), it was for her role as, well, herself on the most recent series of Strictly Come Dancing for which Lesley Joseph wins her place in this ranking. The fact that upon signing up, she became the oldest ever female Strictly contestant and was partnered with Anton du Beke yet managed not to be completely terrible deserves some credit, and I guess this is it. She scored her highest score on the Charleston, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering she was alive in the 1920s. Sadly, however, after five weeks her time in the dancing competition came to its inevitable end following a routine in which she played a fortune teller so, really, she should have seen it coming. After her elimination, she was all “well of course I was going to be a good dancer, I’ve done musicals all my life, what did you expect?” in the press and proceeded to slag off Ed Balls which lol gwan Lesley atta girl. <3

It’s taken us eight gyals (-Jackson Blyton, 2k16) to get here, but finally, we’ve come to the very first male contestant in this year’s TiBB Reality Ranking. And who is this fine specimen of a man, this strong, virile hunk of a fella? Why, it’s none other than Homes Under the Hammer’s Martin Roberts, who truly rose to prominence as a participant in the most recent series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Try to resist your natural urges, ladies, I know it’s difficult. Perhaps the most random casting of the show which didn’t involve Diversity members or comedians in dick pic scandals, few expected much from Martin, especially when he was snuck into the jungle a few days in with fellow grumpy old man Danny Baker. However, Martin certainly delivered. I’m not sure what it was that he delivered, but he very much delivered. I’ll be the first one to admit that I wasn’t hooked to this year’s show so may have missed, y’know, the finer details of his general rivalry with almost everybody in camp, but one lasting memory I have is when Danny went off to do a trial, and Martin had an accompanying confessional which was along the lines of “HA HA HA I HOPE YOU GET EATEN BY A CROCODILE!”. I wish I was exaggerating. Yes, for some strange reason, Martin had a tendency to fall out with his fellow celebrities, or himself, or even just the surroundings, be it over washing dishes or his general existence. Later on, he became a bottom goddess, barely surviving the vote-off for three days in a row. Ultimately, this cockroach could not last, and he was ousted in a double elimination alongside renowned football star Boring Twat With Crap Tattoos. In a series as dry as I’m a Celebrity 16, it was nice to have someone like Martin to shake things up… oh god, I’ve just realised how easily can replace Martin’s name with Bear’s in the last sentence, do ignore me. Yeah, Martin was fine.

A list of Cheban ~moments~:
When, having only just entered the house, he began openly criticising the show’s casting department upon being told who Nancy Dell’Olio was
When Gemma showed him the contents of her wardrobe and he laughed in her face about each and every one (choice quote: "it looks like a Mexican hit a car on his way to a fiesta")
Actually, everything about his relationship with Gemma:
Former TOWIE star Gemma couldn't control her emotions, bawling her eyes out as he bid her farewell.
'Get it together! Now you have another bed. You can fart, you can snore, you can wear pink all day tomorrow in remembrance of me!', Jonathan told his unlikely new pal.
'I can't!', Gemma wailed as she dissolved into hiccuping sobs.
When he was the only one to leave as a direct result of David’s Dead-gate despite having absolutely no role in it
When he said he quit because he “ran out of things to do”
When Jonathan (the other one, Firewire. I mean Fireplace) had the word ‘Cheban’ under his username for the best part of a year in tribute to this fallen hero, because why not
For all of the above moments, I should probably like Cheban more than I actually do, but he was a fun presence in the darkness of CBB17 and that’s something. We salute you Cheban (and now he’s rumoured to be coming back as an All Star which… lol ok hun)

GAYS WERE NOT THROWN OFF BUILDINGS FOR ME TO ONLY FINISH IN 70TH PLACE. THIS IS MAKING A MOCKERY OF RANKINGS. Ahem. Sorry about that. Yes, Andy was an interesting ‘un, as he was more-or-less cast solely for his sexuality, in this case for being fired for voicing out against homophobic Tyson Fury’s inclusion in the Sports Personality of the Year shortlist. And the matter of who he goes to bed with ended up defining his otherwise not-overly-memorable time in the house (other than his Chris Wright-lite diary room entries and maybe those seemingly endless scenes of him droning on about nothing in particular to Jason in the smoking area. Oh, and that time he was the unwilling audience for Marco Does Bieber), be it his argument with Ryan and Hughie over how gay married is not to be mocked under any circumstances ever, be it his boyfriend proposing to him in the house, or be it the fact that said boyfriend was soon caught flirting with other blokes on Grindr, after which Andy quickly called off the engagement. In a series with four gay men, I suppose it was going to have to be somebody’s role to be the patronising uncle lecturing all the gay kids about how they should never have fun because of ISIS. If he can appreciate the irony, then good for him. Still, he placed higher than Jayne and Evelyn, and that’s unforgivable.

It’s a good thing that our next entrant has a post all to herself, because she doesn’t need to be carried, bro. Yes, it’s the woman who had Redditors and Jeff Probsts everywhere quaking in the boots because she – shock horror – managed to win Survivor without shouting about all the #BIGMOVES she made across the beach down a megaphone. What a simpler time May 2016 was. Michele, aka Winchele, aka Controverchele, aka Meeshfitz, aka the beauty bartender (despite being, like, a travel agent whilst on the show) soared her way through the game, not bothering to turn up to a single Tribal Council until after the merge, getting into alliances with almost everybody just in case, and being the only person to win two individual immunity challenges that season. She cut her best friend, she was so upset at losing a tribal reward challenge that she nearly walked into the sea, and she became the first ever winner of the advantage to vote out a juror. This latter #BIGMOVE is truly where Michele secured her win, as she proved Neal wrong by indeed being a bad-ass bitch at Final Tribal Council and got the votes of some of Aubry’s closest allies, which was ultimately enough to get her the crown and the million dollars. Nowadays, you’ll find her wearing glamorous red kaftans and going on expensive holidays, although not as regularly as you once might have done because she’s done locked her Twitter account. We all love a bit of Judge Rinder – I’m not sure which bit exactly (his enormously long hammer? Yes, that should do) – so his appearance on this year’s Strictly was bound to be legally blinding. Because he’s so bright. Like, y’know, a star. Oh, never mind.
Making the leap from weekdays at 2pm to Saturdays at WheneverPM, and quite a leap it was (he was wearing sequins and everything), Robert Rinder (rhymes with Tinder) quickly stole the hearts of the nation. Quickly because all of the other gay favourites were either voted off in week two or ended up walking. In spite of the horrible handicap of having to make Duffy's "Mercy" danceable in the very first week, Mr. Rinder made it all the way to the top five of this year's Strictly Come Dancing and even defeated Ed Balls (Ed Balls) in a vote-off. He was criticised for his bizarre facial expressions by fellow gay Craig Revel Horwood, and the less said about the Flintstones costume the better, but surprised everyone considering his lack of dance training, so in a way, he finished third behind Ore and Claudia really. Wouldn't that have been a better final? ~ Shaun

Good-looking alphas who turn out to be goofy, awkward, socially inept betas  Rohan’s Ausvivor journey was full of awkward highlights, from nearly tanking his and someone else’s game by not wearing tight enough shorts, to his attempt at social game being randomly going up to and yelling at his tribesmates, to throwing himself at the beach (???) in celebration of finding an immunity idol, to calling said idol “the thingo”, to eventually giving said idol to someone else and accidentally voting himself out, all whilst trying his hardest to prove that he isn’t a typical dumb male model. What an adorable doofus. Of course, Australian Survivor 2016 was the year of the women (three of them have qualified for this ranking, which is impressive for a show that barely anyone on this forum watched) so Rohan never really stood a chance, but we should be grateful for the lulz that he provided and for keeping this glorious reality TV archetype alive. And we should also be grateful for all his post-show publicity opportunities (which all seem to end up on MailOnline, get that white supremacist promo?), including pictures of him and Some Woman getting their PDA on at some posh dinner in which she looks very much into it and he looks like he wants to play Angry Birds instead, that time he randomly took all his clothes off at the beach in front of a bunch of horrified surfers and a conveniently-placed paparazzo. I’m glad my subliminal messaging (sticking the words ‘vote’ and ‘Kelsey’ into the thread tags) worked to a degree, as Kelsey comes in at a whopping 64th place in the ranking. When can your faves? Anyway, her appeal was generally being a fun stank bitch, the best member of the cast Third Wheel (Kelsey >> Jared > (half the cast) >>>>> Rail), and being a recruit who lolrandomed her way through the first eviction (since Crustine didn’t even get a single nomination, poor that, I’ll mentioned here that “I’ve waited sixteen years to say that I vote to evict Paige” is a season highlight srynotsry), eventually being booted after a few weeks for being a massive target and also being absolutely useless. But wait! This being Big Brother Canada, it was time for a twist lifted straight from BBUK circa-2004-and-every-year-afterwards in the form of the secret house. Of course, Kelsey was stuck in said secret house with her adversary and fellow strategic mess Loveita, who proceeded to give her a week-long crash course in how to play Big Brother. This came in handy when Kelsey was chosen to return, and promptly cockroached her way to the final two (alol <3). I’ll admit, the latter few weeks of BBCan4 weren’t the greatest time for Kelsey, especially when she had so many opportunities to go with the likes of Cassandra instead of the likes of, well, the brothers, and it was incredibly frustrating but also incredibly in-character for her not to. After all, she couldn’t beat Cassandra in a final two, but she could beat the brothers, right? Well, no. In a final act of being utterly incompetent at everything, Kelsey somehow threw away a kind of easy win (!!!) to Nick and Phil (!!!!!!!!) by giving terrible answers to the jury and not defending her game well enough and etc etc etc and thus a two-headed monster was born. But still, we’ll never forget the good times. In short: duck-stealing icon tbh?

In many ways, Val may well have watched wibbly-wobbly Sandy from last year’s show and decided that this was something to try and challenge, as she turned up the middle-aged woman lulz to eleven, joyfully telling us about she listens to her cakes and does aerobics when baking, heartily laughing that she’ll never be allowed into Yorkshire again upon producing a particularly shoddy batch of puddings, nearly destroying the city of New York via the medium of gingerbread (I bet Bush did it) and weeping everywhere after getting eliminated. After the show, it was revealed that she was going on a holiday to Ayia Napa, which is very much a Val thing to do. Oh, and I’m sure they said at one point or another that she likes listening to Coldplay when baking, but hey, we can’t all be perfect.

In post-Brexit Britain, one really shouldn’t be surprised when Middle Englanders take offence to something banal and harmless as if to distract from some more important issue. And yet this made the reaction to Candice wearing lipstick and occasionally pouting a bit no less bizarre. It almost took away from the fact that she was an uhmazing baker, cooking up an actual pub and making that giant peacock thing that the other contestants might well have just given up after first seeing it. And once Benjamina and Selasi were culled one after the other, it lay to Candice to not only deliver a good winner for BBC Bake Off to end on, but also a good winner in the wasteland that was the 2016 reality show hall of fame. And despite being up against a ginger and a middle-aged woman, Candice pulled it out the bag and worthily inherited Nadiya’s crown. Of course, all this wasn’t quite enough for her to crack the top 60, but I guess that’s because you’re all a bunch of Tories.

Frances <3 She was a rather UTR presence to begin with, but that’s the same for many classic Apprentices, and she soon came into her own. Whether it was breaking down in the boardroom, pointing out that it was a badger, with a quiff – A BADGER WITH A QUIFF, or completely being ignored by her sloshed sub-team before proceeding to create a historically insensitive and geographically inaccurate logo for orange-coloured gin, it’s fair to say that Frances delivered in the final few weeks of the series. This strong endgame run makes it even more lulzy that she didn’t win a challenge until episode 7, being stuck in the losing team for the first six weeks a la dignitaries such as Elle Stephenson and fellow contestant/rankee Rebecca. Ultimately, the interviews were Frances’ undoing, because Lordsugar wasn’t going to invest in some kiddie clothing business goddammit. He wants to invest in proper stuff, like sippy cups in the shape of football trophies. Still, at least she ended up as a third place g.oddess (has that ever been a ‘thing’ on this show? It hasn’t, has it?), and the pre-finale revelation that she was both a wag and a national karate champion only did wonders for her. In the words of Frances herself, HEY BITCHES.

I’ve blocked most of CBB18 out of my long-term memory for a vast variety of reasons, but from the little I can recall, cultural icon Sam Fox was… okay? Nothing brilliant, obviously, but she was okay. The only proper highlight that I remember from her time in the house was her ‘accidentally’ smuggling a pen into the house in her make-up bag, which was a good moment by itself but was made into a classic by her follow-up claim that she carries a pen everywhere because the public are forever hankering to get Our Sam’s autograph. Other than that… well, she told a story about her late girlfriend, which was sweet. Oh, and Bear nearly blinded her that one time, but that prick didn’t qualify so I’m not going to discuss him any more than I need to. Sam may have been chucked out of the house in a low-key double eviction with an X Factor seventh-placer, but she’ll always be a national treasure in our hearts, and will continue to demand that we touch her body for years to come.

Let’s just reflect on the fact that a guy who nearly named his business Purple Whale (apparently he changed it immediately after the show in disgust lol <3) was ever in contention for a corter-of-a-million-pound investment. Let’s also reflect on the fact that he put the phrase “I’d like to fart in a lift full of supermodels” in his business plan. And yet, despite this description seeming like it would fit some unholy monster, Courtney was actually quite likeable? That is, however, until his random OTTN breakout in the gin – sorry, Giin – episode, fluffing up pitches all over the shop, being extra cocky for absolutely no reason, randomly barking orders at people…and still winning the task? Lol this series. In a year so strongly dominated by the women, you could somehow have found far worse options for the sole remaining representative of the male sex than Courtney Wood. Loveable dictator Kat’s arc was possibly the first sign that Australian Survivor wasn’t going to be a total flop after all, with the fact that she survived her one-episode rivalry with walking caricature Des suggesting that there may be room for the J’Tia and Alecia-types in this brave new world we call Ausvivor. And, lo and behold, she mostly lived up to this early good impression, going on to slay evil drama teacher Evan and survive her incredibly dysfunctional tribe, if not just for the fact that the show had a tendency to cancel Tribal Councils at the very moment it looked as if somebody good was about to be voted out (positive rigging <3). At the tribe swap – sorry, ‘merge’ – Kat joined forces with fellow rankee Kristie to oust another rankee Rohan, taking advantage of the fact that he was as dumb as all hell, leaving (spoiler) fellow rankee Phoebe to fend for herself semi-successfully. Unfortunately for our Kat, her nine lives ran out shortly afterwards, thanks to Andrew’s impromptu decision to turn into Russell Hantz for a few episodes. In a season so long and with so many people, you’d think the pre-mergers – and there were several hundred of the buggers – would simply fade into anonymity, but thankfully there were so many stars in this group, Kat being one, that this wasn’t the case in the slightest. Or maybe it’s just the fact that the season only ended two months ago and we haven’t had time to forget them yet. We’ll see!

But thankfully, others disagree, and they looked beneath his ridiculous hair to see the sweet geek beneath. And to his credit, he wasn’t as dreadful as the reality TV geek often is, in that he knew how to be modest and he didn’t win (see: Ian Terry, Steve Moses, Cochran, ad infinitum). Otherwise, let’s move on.

Sophie Grad-off, more like (y'know, given that she quit the show and all) (actually she's the one who went all lezzer on the show, right? History-making icon I guess  Or should that be bicon?) (if anyone else can add something of worth to Sophie's time on Love Island then that would be much appreciated thank you)
Pete.

So to my shame, I haven't actually watched any of BB:OTT, but from Wiki-watching/vaguely following it, Shelby was the best one? And she was in the Ball Smashers? And Jason was a ****? And Shelby didn't win but she got pretty far and one of the Ball Smashers did win but that particular one didn't qualify for the ranking but her sister did? And I'm going to stop talking like this because it's weird? Yeah, that one?

For a brief while at the start of this year's live shows, the idea floated around that Gifty would be one of the frontrunners for the crown. That she would eventually reveal herself to be "seventh on her best week" came as...well, no surprise to anyone who's ever stanned a black girl in a reality TV show or competition, but still. Largely used by Simon Cowell as a walking and singing advertisement for the many hits of Fifth Harmony (there have been two so far over here, don't @ me), Gifty couldn't really contain her disappointment with her mentor's judgment and the decisions of the other judges. Primarily because anyone with a working pair of eyes and ears could have seen that 'Four of Diamonds' were never going to ****ing go anywhere. She did have two Fifth Harmony-free weeks, though, and her rendition of Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" ended up being one of the series' best performances. That's not a stellar endorsement but it's what I've got. She did bow out with a glare and a legion* of fans trolling Nicole Scherzinger's Instagram with gift emoji, though.
*probably 200 but oh well?

This piece is entitled "The Same Parts" People at the party and I'm wanting to dance. Other ugly-ass bitches ain't standing no chance❌. Dudes looking at me like they want to get in my pants. Come on, bitch, see me with 'em hands. His back on the wall. My ass on his hUMP! Grinding for a second. His stuff's getting thick. He doesn't know it, but I'm getting firm too. His boys really need to know before calling me boo. Because what you see isn't always the truth. Because, baby boy, I've got all the same parts that you do. (the emojis don't actually work on this forum but... just imagine they do idk)
(also she walked the runway as T-BOZ I MEAN COME ON) (thank you)
