www.digitalspy.com/tv/strictly-come-dancing/news/a817199/strictly-come-dancing-final-rating-figures/A whole lot of you tuned in to see Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton's surprise Strictly Come Dancing win last night (December 17).
Ore triumphed over favourites Danny Mac and Louise Redknapp after two perfect scores for his showdance and jive, while his American Smooth picked up 39 points from the judges.
And a whopping 11.8 million people were watching along on average, with a huge peak of 13.1m viewers. Needless to say, it meant Strictly dominated Saturday night TV with a 53.5% audience share.
Ahead of the final, it was revealed that this series was the most popular one EVER with an average of 11.3m viewers every Saturday night.

It was one of the best finals, they should axe the show now on a high it's been going on for too many years now , it's become as miked to death like Big brother  . But BBC already have plans for another series next year  and once again they'll be claims of a fix and usual stuff that we already know

It's BBC so they actually would, look at GBBO. It's their best rating show and it got more viewers than Strictly and they got rid of it.

They didn't axe that though

well the articles made out they did by saying they refused to pay for it (they can afford it) so they got rid of it to C4.

No they just took it off BBC 1 because C4 is greedy and has bought it for a ridiculous price :idc: . And Paul Hollywood has jumped ship and is joining C4 when it airs

They can't afford it because they're a public service broadcaster
The production company took advantage of the show's popularity by hiking up the price to a ridiculous degree, which the BBC could never afford, especially when they've been having to close entire channels to save money. Strictly doesn't have that kind of problem because it's currently made in-house by the BBC

Me neither same dances, judges say the same thing it's a mystery
You could literally say 'same songs, judges say the same thing' for X Factor, or 'same cakes, judges say the same thing' for Bake Off
They've found a formula that works and they've stuck to it

Xfactor is losing viewers, GBBO has different show stopper challenges every week

I don't really care about SCD, I would find civilians doing it with no dancing background better to watch.

XF might do better to actually embrace younger styles of Music rather than Whitney Houston.

did you prefer IAC ?, you've not been on this forum awhile .
Danny was amazing but so was Ore and I'm happy and I think all finalists deserved it :) , this year had the best final and I think Ore pipped Danny to the win with his final performances

Well done to Ore for winning was rooting and voting for Danny loved his showdance and samba on Saturday even if Danny didn't make a mistake in his first dance I still think he wouldn't of won.
Will look forward to seeing Danny on the tour and pleased he has been cast in Sleepless the musical which is an adaptation of the film Sleepless in Seattle alongside his fiancee
