The Battle #1

Instructions
This 24 hour Battle will see the three teams transforming into political parties running for governance of TiBB. The parties will put forward a member of their team for the Presidential candidate, who will be the team leader. The parties must all create a thread campaigning for members to join their party. In this thread they must include the party name, policies, a campaign slogan, a logo and explain why people should join your party. Teams have until 7pm the following day to sign up as many people as possible (each person can only sign up to 2 political parties maximum). Simultaneously there will be a General Election poll where people can vote which party they want to win (people can only vote for one party, and players are not allowed to vote). Then at 7pm the vote will close, and the team with the most members combined with the most votes will win The Battle. The two losing teams will face the first Challenge.

Amy: So, I was saying to Thomas, "Why did you post an image of me on Instagram?" and he couldn't reply to me! I ended up blocking h- Oh, hi guys!

[MARC AND JOSH WALK IN]

Marc and Josh: Hey!
Josh: I am knackered. Just worked a 18 hour shift. It's mental.
Marc: Yeah, I know how it is.
Amy: I have to work 24 hours some nights.

[MARC AND JOSH GROAN IN AGREEMENT]

Amy: Oof, my chest feels tight. Can you check my heart?
Josh: O..K...

Josh: It's not beating?
Marc: Right, I'm calling 999.

Lostie: Couldn't score it higher due to how brief and non-descript it is but it was funny and the ending cracked me up. I'd also tune back in to find out if Amy is indeed a zombie. Score: 6.5/10

LukeB: A nice try, this must not have been an easy task but i would have liked it to be a bit longer, when Amy was talking about instagram they should have been more to that story but it feels like you skipped that and went onto another story to the next one. Score: 5/10

EmmerEnders Street

The Pub - Main Room

(The pub is one of a traditional vibe, oak beams supporting the grey brick walls that have held the dirty secrets and mysterious disasters that have shook EmmerEnders Street - located in a small, quaint village towards the North of Wales.

The doors, in the left of the pub, suddenly swing open after a faint unlocking sound. An elderly couple potter over to the central bar and put down their cardboard boxes and carrier bags atop the glossy, biscuit-coloured counter.)

Ron: This is it, dear.

(Ron is an older man, yet has a younger look to him. He is very protective over his wife, Margaret, and wants to pump some life back into the village.)

Margaret: Sure is - we better get this place up and running, sweetie!

(Margaret also has a youthful look to her, despite being the same age as Ron. Sometimes she disagrees with how protective Ron can be, but she knows its all in the best interests.)

(A pub regular, LeatherTrumpet, stumbles into the bar groaning and moaning.)

LT: Give us ya best booze, eh! (He shouts the order, pointing to some of the finest beverages on the underside of the counter.)

Ron: We don't actually open until -

LT: (Interrupting, not caring what Ron has to say.) I asked for booze, I want booze! This pub has been closed since the Dawn of Time, so long I've had to BUY my own booze! So give us a bevy!

Ron: Right you are; lager, beer or cider? (Margaret heads into the back room, presumably the kitchen.) Or do you want something else?

LT: Surprise me.

The Pub - The Kitchen

(Margaret is with a younger man, only in his late twenties. He is wearing a chefs outfit, and is polishing the knives.)

Margaret: You must be the chef - Marsh is it?

Marsh: That's right - and you're Margaret? (She nods, and he moves away from the knives.) Right, here's my speciality menu, (he hands her a sheet of laminated paper) will that do you or is there anything else you want?

Margaret: That looks perfect, proper Pub Grub! (She finds her eyes wandering toward the young man. She begins talking to distract herself.) Pie and Mash, Fish and Chips, a sexy young chef ... (She gasps, covering her mouth quickly). I'm so sorry, I'm jus- (Marsh swiftly grabs Margaret by her waist, pulling her in. They kiss, before hearing noises and pulling away).

Ron: (Ron walks into the kitchen, missing the kiss.) Everything alright in 'ere?

Margaret: Absolutely, (She wipes her mouth) I was just trying everything on the menu!

Ron: That's alright then, the queues are getting busier, we better tend to the customers!

The Pub - The Main Room

Margaret: Where did that drunkard go? (Margaret looks around over the counter, looking for LT. The camera spots him crawling into the kitchen, his head pouring with blood.

Ron: I'm not too sure, I'm sure he will turn up again, dear!

The Pub - The Kitchen

(Screams are heard from the kitchen, and Marsh is hovering above LT with a chainsaw, who is strapped onto the counter. Marsh cleanly slices off an arm, blood suddenly splurging to onto his white shirt.)

Marsh: This is what you get for breaking our contract ...

(A teenage boy stumbles into the room and freezes after seeing the spectacle.)

Morgan: I ... I was ju- I was just looking for the toilet? (Morgan runs out and everybody turns to watch him sprints out of the Pub doors.)

The Pub - The Main Room

(Ron notices camera flashes sparkling through the window, so goes over and opens the curtains to investigate.)

Ron: Are you a journalist? Are you!? (Nicky, the villages journalist, nods reluctantly. Ron opens the window.) What are you doing here?

Nicky: (He looks scared, and speaks in an accent resembling The Netherlands.) I heard there was a murder sir!

Ron: A murder?! Not in a pub like this young man ... Now scurry away and DON'T COME BACK! (He slams the window in Nicky's face, Margaret wandering over to see what has happened.) Just journalists dear, nothing to worry about!

The Pub - Exterior

(As Nicky runs away from the Pub, a car at full speed races over and knocks him off his feet, Nicky left unconscious on the floor, bleeding out. The car drives away.)

The Pub - The Main Room

(The doors open once again, a middle aged woman in a business suit walking inside, holding her police badge up.)

Niamh: Who owns this place, eh? (Ron and Margaret step forward.) Not only has local journalist Nicky been run over and murdered just this second, I have reports of a local pub customer being dismembered in the kitchen. Can I look around please?

Ron: (He nods, hesitantly.) We've only just opened though, detective. Nicky was nothing to do with us and I have no idea about where this murder accusation has come from!

(The barmaid, named Cherie, with young and lustful looks, walks out of the toilets and into the main room.)

Cherie: (She gasps as she spots Niamh.) You killed my grandfather!

Marsh: (He appears from the kitchen.) No - I KILLED YOUR GRANDFATHER!

The End.

Setting: The Alpha Pub. It's late at night and the pub is closed for the evening.

Events occur in real time.

Charlie, the landlady of the Alpha pub, comes back from her night out early and notices that some of the glasses have been left out uncleaned. It's normally her husband Jason's or her bartender Evelyn's job to do this, but she decides to clean them anyway before going upstairs to him. As she wipes the glasses, she has a sad look in her eyes, as it reminds her of the time she was in a car that collided with a glasses truck that resulted in the tragic loss of her younger sister and left her unable to conceive children.

Charlie (teary and to herself): "This is why I don't clean the glasses, Jason. This is why I never clean the glasses. As if I don't have enough on my mind right now with the impending destruction of Earth, now I have to clean glasses too." *sobs*

Charlie's phone rings and she answers it.

Charlie: "Yes?"
Voice: "This is commander Knowles of escape shuttle R2D2 confirming that you'll be ready to leave in 1 hour?"
Charlie: "Oh, yes, me and my husband will both be ready. The Earth is still about to explode then I take it?
Voice: "Unfortunately yes, but we'll be able to start a new civilisation with our brightest minds, most accomplished doctors, and of course everyone will still need pubs, so you and your husband are very important to us.
Charlie: "You know, I really thought that starting World War III was a good idea when it happened, who knew it could end so disastrously?"
Voice: "Yes that was a huge shock to us all, but here we are."

-Earth shakes a bit and Charlie drops the glass she was cleaning-

Charlie (crying again): "Ok well thank you for calling, I have to finish up here and get my husband."

Charlie wipes away her tears and heads upstairs. She hears the bed creaking and starts panicking that Jason might be repeatedly falling over onto it and injuring himself like the last time. She was unable to help him when it happened before as the door was locked, but this time it is ajar so she rushes in, only to see him in bed with another woman.

Charlie: "JASON!" She screams, and then looks over at the other woman... "EVELYN!!!"



Charlie looked at her husband and his ***** mistress under the rubble, blood splattered on the floor; both pleading with her to help them. Charlie laughed in disgust at both off them. “Rot in hell you rat faced twats” she said to them as she walked off in her high heels towards the exit door. “Wait, don’t leave me Charlie, we can work through this” Jason pleaded to her. Charlie looked back, looking at her husband’s blue eyes, thinking off all the years they spent together; would she really save him after he betrayed her so much. Deep down she still loved him, but if she was going save him, she would only have a few minutes to do so until the whole pub collapsed on them, killing them all. She ran back over and started to clear away the rubble surrounding her husband. “Please help me” Evelyn said to her. “Why would I help you, one less slut in the world” Charlie burned back to her. “Because…. Because…. I’m pregnant with Jason’s baby”.

Charlie look at her in shook. “Wait what?” she quizzed her. Jason looked over “Don’t listen to her Charlie, she is just saying that so you will save her, she is a liar”. “No I am not” Evelyn barked back to him angrily. “I mean look at her Charlie, she will say anything to you”. Charlie was still bewildered by what was going on. She had little time left. “I don’t believe you” she said to Evelyn, and continued to save her husband. “Please you have to believe me” … “I don’t have to believe anything that comes out of your filthy mouth” Charlie said back. Charlie was close to freeing Jason when suddenly Evelyn said something that stopped her. “It’s me…. Nikki, your long-lost baby sister who you thought died in that car crash all them years ago”. Charlies whole body froze. “What did you just say?” She demanded. “I’m your baby sister”. “It can’t be” Charlie said, but she noticed a necklace Evelyn was wearing, it was the same one their mother had bought the two of them years ago.

In that moment, she knew Evelyn was her sister.

She didn’t have much time, the pub was about to crumble, and she had to get to the shuttle to escape earth, she had the two tickets in her hand, she had to decide to save her long-lost baby sister who she could have a proper second chance with, or save the man who she loved who betrayed her. Charlie decided to save………

Lostie: That was brilliant. I loved the hilariously over the top storyline and the Evelyn twist and the dialogue was great too. And a good cliffhanger like any soap should have. Also bonus points for the 24 inspiration :clap1: Score: 9.5/10
