Just making this now to provide a thread for us all to speculate and discuss (since there's none on the forum) and I realised in about 2 weeks we should be getting the eye for the series (if they release it as a similar time as BB17) :omgno:

Perched for what un-needed twists we'll see this year

It would be interesting to see how this pair thing will work. I see this being a 50 day series again too.

I kind of hope it's not. Cramming a 10 week series into a 7 week series disrupts the natural (well as natural as a modern day series can be) flow.

I'm in two minds about it because if it's a terrible series then i wouldn't mind it ending 50 days:laugh:

but my theory is, pairs get evicted each week so that make it a short series.

Yeah I agree with you. If it's terrible I won't care but it was bittersweet in BB17 because the series was so good.

And I also agree with a pair (or at least two people - who knows how the twists will go?) getting evicted every Friday night. However, I'm not sure how many pairs they'll have in the final or if this will mean we have double the number of housemates we usually have - idk?

My guess is like 10 pairs and 20 housemates - which would mean (following the format of BB17)

Day 11 - 1 pair out, 9 pairs in, 18 housemates
Day 18 - 1 pair out, 8 pairs in, 16 housemates
Day 25 - 1 pair out, 7 pairs in, 14 housemates
Day 32 - 1 pair out, 6 pairs in, 12 housemates
Day 39 - 1 pair out, 5 pairs in, 10 housemates
Day 46 - 2 pairs out, 3 pairs in, 6 housemates
Final - 3 pairs or 6 finalists (they may split them up at the end)

But my guess is probably completely wrong and somehow I can't imagine Emma saying 'And the seventh to be evicted is...' in the final eviction of the series before the final.

I think there'll be eight pairs, first two/three evictions see pairs evicted before the housemates are split up into separate HMs.

So...

Week 1: 1 pair out, 7 pairs in, 14 housemates
Week 2: 1 pair out, 6 pairs in, 12 housemates
Week 3: 1 pair out, 5 pairs in, 10 housemates
Week 4: 1 housemate out, 9 housemates in
Week 5: 1 housemate out, 8 housemates in
Week 6: 2 housemates out, 6 housemates in
Week 7: final.

Oh I didn't think Channel 5 would actually stick to a structure of 1 pair out every week, I just think they'll evict 2 housemates every week (although probably leave room for 2 or 3 weeks when only 1 gets evicted as Channel 5 literally have no structure at all)

Are we forgetting the mandatory Armageddon/4in4out/Annihilation twist? I'm perched for the crew to kick half the housemates out in a week before replacing them by one or two pairs before later dissolving the pairs a week later

They are literally insufferable

Maybe the pairs thing will be enough to sustain the ratings AND ensure they can get enough people out normally due to two evictions per week without an Armageddon/4 in 4 out/Annhilation/Weekend from Hell type thing.

I can't see C5 being consistent and carrying the pairs theme throughout the entire series yet alone evicting a pair each week. I think the first eviction will be a pair (on either Day 4 or 11) and then it'll just go back to one evictee a week until another mass eviction and countless double evictions nearer the final until we have six left.

I can only wonder if a decision to split them up will be inspired by Emma and Victoria last series. The idea of splitting up twins isn't too farfetched, and it would have probably been seen as unfair before this point, but even then when Emma decided to stay people were still pressed about whether or not she should.
I could only wonder if they would use the backlash (not that anyone turned off due to the shock and outrage of the situation) would be incentive enough for them to stick to a twist for once, or to for it to encourage them to go against it and "shake the house to its core" on a half hour livefeed at 10:30pm on a Tuesday evening by splitting them, for which the feed's down for half of it

Perched for ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION DISASTER APOCALYPSE week.

Ashleigh survived Armageddon (albeit only just), Chloe survived 4in4out, and Jayne survived Annihilation. Which controversial woman(women? assuming they haven't split them up at this point)/rightful winner of the series will escape near-eviction

Ik it's a little late to be moaning about this twist as it's been confirmed for months now but idk I'm not really a massive fan of paired housemates so the fact they're having a house filled with them doesn't really interest me at all. The only pair I fully enjoyed were the Shannon Twins and they were on CBB. All the other twins or pairs have varied from irrelevant to awful (I refuse to buy into the myth that Speidi were good housemates because...they weren't.) I wouldn't have minded so much if half of them were pairs and the other half were lone housemates (kinda similar to BBUS13's duos, without the vets obviously) because lone housemates are usually better.

Apparently 15th May is a date we should be interested in according to several (probably pathetically fake) Twitter accounts.

I think it will launch officially with 1.8 million.

The same as BB17 then?

Jodie.

I think it could average just under 1.7mil, just needs good promotion and a cast similar to last years.

Yeah. I see no reason why they should go down following a great series in BB17 and the cast have garnered quite a lot (by Channel 5 BB standards) of press attention in the 9 months it's been since their series. A good trailer and promotion campaign could even boost it up to 2 million officially.

Looking back BB17 was a really good series imo, had such a great cast.

The annihilation week was really good and done well iirc.

I hope the eye is pathetically pleasing, normally even number BB's on Channel 5 seem to get quite ugly eyes, BB14 and 16.
