Channel 5 said: “At a time of political upheaval and tough questions about unity in the UK, Big Brother brings you an alternative look at Britain.”
They added that the new series will be a “summer of contrasts, conflicts and collaboration… and more fireworks than you could imagine, as a selection of people, from a range of backgrounds, come together in the ultimate social experiment.
“The United Kingdom of Big Brother… and everyone is welcome.”

This actually sounds kind of interesting and like the show is going back to its roots. It's a shame the eye is so ****e!

I don't trust them
they said the game was changing last year and did it ****e
There is no way they're going to remain back to basics or consistent

as a selection of people, from a range of backgrounds, come together in the ultimate social experiment.

Not them finally reading the synopsis for what the show should be?

Oh yeah I highly doubt they'll stick to the theme, it's just interesting that they're stressing the social experiment element again after all these years.

A diverse range of backgrounds..... or as far as our recruiters can be bothered looking.

Am I the only one that thinks this sounds just like the cringey tripe they usually write for the synopsis?

'Big Brother brings you an alternative look at Britain.'

they will probably make this happen, knowing the producers and they will give them scripts in the DR on what to say -yay-

i wonder how many times it will take them to say goodnight

I mean in 2017 isn't "social experiment" only used when it's like... people defending Jade Goody or Aaryn Gries and **** like that? It's just a buzz phrase that's used to excuse bigotry and other gross ****, and this show is plagued by plenty of gross **** on the regular so

Wasn´t the general idea of it always to be a social experiment. 12 or so different people with different personalities living and interacting in a house filled with cameras recording their every move.

Just a general press statement that shouldn't be read into too much.

This. It sounds like they haven't got a strong enough theme to spin a blurb for the series over so they've gone for a fairly generic one.

It will never be a social experiment again, I've come to accept that. Its not even a freak show anymore. It's scripted reality.

The only experiment is how long this "social experiment" mouthpiece bull**** will last.

i am pretty sure they will let them have their phones this time around and be connected to social media, thats the "social experimence" in their eyes.

Not buying it, same mess, different year. Expect ZZ-list celebs and career models eating fish guts and watching each other's DR talks.

It sounds good but like others have said C5 said the game was meant to change last year and it didn't plus thats not the first time C5 has said "oh this is going to be different" and it hasn't been.

I'm slightly optimistic. Im not normally after their cheesy sayings. BUT this is the first time since the move to 5 where C5 have openly promoted it (or even mentioned) that it's a social experiment.

They need to go back to C4 production days. Copy them. It was so much better.
