Rylan also hinted that the main show may be heading back to its simplified, more psychological roots. (Fingers crossed.)
"As you know, whatever the theme is for the series, we really go to town with it," he explained. "[But] let's maybe go back a bit and maybe go back to a social experiment."

I give it two weeks before we're back to housemates eating fish guts whilst their nominations are played on the living room TV.

Every time they try to imply a back-to-basic/C4 change,
let's not forget:

I wish Rylan would go back to his roots, and bloody stay there.

I loved this series until they did this. They were a really nice bunch of people and you could tell it would have been a fun series had they left the originals in there as they all got on.

Well no because Sam and Simon coming back in were better than anybody who left in that twist.

Doubt it
Even if it does start like that, ratings will drop= leading to producers panicking and starting manipulation like never before.

I agree over who said BB16 was good till 4 in 4 out. Although I was going through tough times then I prob would have watched it but that twist didn't appeal to me
Half of me thinks it could be back to basics kinda then half of me thinks didn't they say this last season. We shall see I suppose

"social experiment" in 2017 still reads to me as celebrated bigotry

Expecting situations similar to when they threw in Winston McKenzie just for dark controversy.

Yes, an appalling decision by the producers.
