Chrissy - lol :love: actually she's a bit boring in a not so boring way and yeah that doesn't really make sense
JP - ok this one is almost certainly boring (or maybe these are all just kind of boring, I don't remember)
Cole - yes :clap1: (but again not the most thrilling interview)
Roark - sweet and probably the most enjoyable interview so far :love:
Ashley - heh not sure, could love her could hate her; doesn't seem too boring tho at least compared to others so I'll prob have an opinion one way or another once I see more
Lauren - another snooze
Katrina - not great but not bad either
Desi - she's a thrill seeker but she sounds so monotone and boring??? :joker: she's likable tho
Simone - probably the most engaging character so far and seems like a serious gameplayer (that might not go well)... might be a Ciera type :love:
Joe - a lot more personality than most... could be a top fave of mine, I'm hopeful for a Tony-type breed with him or at least a Rodney lol
Patrick - back to the boredom
Mike - loool I'm a fan; seems like a better version of David and I liked David a lot
Jessica - hot and I like her; very nice, big... personality :love:
Ryan - funny and I like him but it's possible I find him annoying too
Devon - eh, he's cool; I trust in the surfer dude being great more often than not
Ali - seems chill and likable too but I feel like she could be messy OR a "male enabler" (or both) for some reason
Alan - also very nice and chill; I do recognize him but only after I see his full name and think about it so I wonder if any NFL fans will be there and recognize him (he really wasn't that big of a player tho)


Idk I'm not too excited about this cast... but I don't dislike it either. It did get better as I watched more so maybe I just started with the biggest duds. Still, I can't believe how many of them I felt were either kinda boring or really boring. Interviews like this aren't the most thrilling concept but I feel like I've gotten more invested in the characters from other seasons' pre-show interviews. :shrug:

But nothing else known, they do seem very overpowered as a group.

so I was thinking of doing a dynamic sweepstake on the forum which is what me and my boyfriend have been doing for Aus Survivor. Basically the idea is that we predict each week who goes voted out, who wins reward, who wins immunity, who finds an idol and random ones we'd make up influenced by the previews (examples we had include "which dumb **** is drowning" and "which dumb ***** are switching tribes") and we devised a point system for it, it's been fun so far :bigsmile:

However I know there's already 2 sweepstakes with Calderyon's and Jersey's so I don't wanna overload the forum with 3 sweepstakes lol but if enough people were interested I'd be happy to do it on here :bigsmile:

Yeah I actually just got into that in the Rankings thread. :joker: I felt like it was great character development before I thought about each person in the cast individually. I realize plenty are lacking in the character development department right now. But 5/6 of the Heroes tribe and a few others got some really great air time so I have a very good sense of their characters already in just 1 hour. Plenty were left out though, yeah.

Patrick is ok-ish (I liked him more in ep 2 anyway). But one of the issues with this season so far is that I don't really have anyone I dislike much and I'm only strongly in support of a few. Like the majority of the cast is just slightly likable or just whatever to me. I'd prefer to have more people to root for/against. This could change though as there's only been 2 episodes worth of buildup and getting to know these characters.

The premiere episode had a lot more going on, particularly with the Heroes tribe.

Ep 3 was a step back in the right direction though BUT there's been a bit too much of the overall boring Hustlers tribe in the past 2 episodes.

The only thing boring about the Hustlers is Ryan and his many contrived, often bordering-on-nonsensical (did he mention that he doesn't have a girlfriend Jeff?) attempts to be the new Zeke, who was the new Spencer, who was the new Cochran who was the new... etc. And by default, his alliance with Devon, somebody who's yet to show any independent redeeming features, unlike similar characters in the cast (i.e. Cole)

Lauren "Center Field" Rimmer is the star of the season so far, Patrick was a hoot and lasted for just the right amount of time and Simone was... very skilled at aquadumping?

Also there's been so much Hustler content these past two episodes because they went to Tribal both episodes

Yeah, my main gripe with Ryan is that he's nothing more than an overexposed superfan. The Zeke and Spencer comparisons are spot on. Like, Cochran and David at least had a story of ~growth~ and bildungsroman and whatnot, and although annoying at times it was at least legitimate. Ryan on the other hand appears to fit in perfectly fine with his tribe and is just desperately trying to make himself into a character. One whom we've seen countless times at that.

Yeah I know but it still sucks for episodes 2 & 3 when the Heroes & Healers have so much more going on but don't get to be featured as much because of that. Now unfortunately things will be shaken up too so we'll never get to see how those other two tribes would've played out. </3 (it can still build into the new tribes, however, so not a total loss for future episodes)

Also Ryan is nothing like Zeke or Spencer? Maybe slightly like Spencer but no they have pretty different personalities, it's just the superfan aspect... :shrug: All the nerdy-ish male superfans aren't the same.

Episode 3 was the best episode so far. Slightly above average episode where as the other episodes were just plain average. Maybe with the swap coming up things will pick up and we will get some better episodes.

Oh yeah that's the other thing I forgot, is anyone else getting tired of the episode 4/5 tribe swap, followed by another one a couple of episodes later, and then the merge? Like, I get things need to be switched up and a tribe swap can provide new dynamics, but can we at least change the pattern up a little bit or something idk :shrug:

There's just barely enough time to get to know the players as it is without swapping them around a month in. I also really prefer two tribe seasons, six people at tribal on day 3 doesn't work for me

My one issue with this season remains that I want more people to root against (or root for and Alan going doesn't really help that for me). There's too many likable characters that are basically just there and not likable in a way like BB19 where I was just overly supportive of them. Really there's a lot of just ok characters when it comes down to it. BB19 also had Jody which was honestly a benefit for the season to strongly root against them and feel satisfied when they got taken out. :fan: This season just has somewhat annoying, definitely boring, and over-exposed Lauren which even when she gets eliminated (hopefully it's coming), it's not going to be something to get excited about.

But anyway, the content has still been very good to make the episodes fun to watch so I'm not complaining. This is also better than having a bunch of castaways I don't care for or don't like which has been the case sometimes. I'm really enjoying a few at least and meanwhile the show is keeping things pretty entertaining.

I think Jess and Cole are dating in real life now so I cant see her voting him out. I agree she will likely be early jury, but I still think Cole, Desi, Roark, Ali will also be jury; they are setting it up for Kristie and Ben alliance to do well. :sleep:

Yeah I feel like Jessica doubting Cole is just something minor that's only being shown to give the audience some doubt in their relationship. Who knows with Jessica though :joker: but while she's a bit out there in personality I think in gameplay she'll be more straight forward and loyal.

She strikes me as an unpredictably predictable type where she'll be all over the place but in the end she takes the safe/predictable route most/all of the time. :shrug:

I'm enjoying this season enough tbh, the cast is hard to dislike and the edit is focusing on characterization rather than ~The Game~ so that already puts it above Cambodia and MvGx and the second half of GC (none of which are hard feats, but those are 2.5 of the last 4 seasons so it's worth something)

OMG survivor alumni twitter was POPPING last night. So basically Anna Khait from KR posted on her FB about that drag queen who was dressed like a scary monster/demon while reading for kids in a library and captioned it “if you want to be LGBTQ in private that’s fine but don’t do it in front of kids” and Corinne was not having it and called her out on twitter for being a homophobe and thinking it’s only acceptable to be gay behind closed doors. So THEN Anna responded that she meant to say she didn’t want people dressed as demons reading to kids (she like edited her FB and everything it was a real sad attempt to save face) and Corinne was literally STILL not having it and was posting screenshots of the original post saying she’d rather have Satan read to her kids than a homophobe (referring to Anna PLUS Corinne is a satanist) so THEN Ciera got involved saying that she thinks its crazy that anyone would want Satan to read to their kids and then a bunch of people started calling Ciera a homophobe and making fun of her for being a teen mom and it was so wild and Ciera kept on saying she didn’t agree with Anna’s statement about LGBT people and only got involved because she doesn’t think anyone should want Satan to read to their kids. It was literally so wild.
