So from what they were saying on launch last night everybody did apply in a pair - do you think Raph had a partner too or not?

Oh yeah maybe so, Macie?

He applied by himself in 2015 and got pretty far, I remember a producer calling him up when we were in Dawlish. Would imagine it was similar again but maybe not

This confused me tbh. As my husband was going to apply and had to rope his cousin into applying too as the BB website specifically said they were looking for pairs, and the application form was for 2 people too. So obviously, I was expecting to see everyone enter in bloody pairs :joker:

Have you ever even spoken to Raph, Nicky?

i'm sure they got solo auditions too or got applications from the past? i'm going to ask my friend if she had a pair when auditioning.

Maybe the single ones are those 'invited to apply' then fast-tracked by BB that we hear of year after year. And the pairs were those who actually just applied the normal way?

I'm sure several people (like me!) applied solo, and pit either their own details again or nonsense in person 2

Which rules out the point in them asking for pairs :suspect:
I don't get why they didn't have a single person form and a pairs option, but state they specifically wanted some duo-applications
Are you telling my my husband could have gone on. He had to beg his cousin to apply with him. Then when his cousin pulled out he couldn't find anyone else to do it so didn't apply at all...

I didn't apply again in the end but you absolutely had to send a dual application off. Whether he did or they contacted him from before is anyone's guess though

The thought of me living in the house with Raph and my friend is very strange

You/Raph refusing to nominate until they implement the US format?

Maybe he was approached because of his previous applications. like he was in the same group as Joel and Charlie two years ago and Joel got chosen first and a year later Charlie and now Raph.

:joker: I could see that happening
I hope Raph slags production off like Marcus used to, drag their tacky tasks, tragic twists and outside contact

My guess would be he was approached. He's auditioned pretty much every year and made it quite far and has kinda made himself known, persistence paid off

Not telling you anything apart from the fact I made a solo video, and put myself down again for all the person 2 bits :p I bet others did, but I don't know if any got in.

my friend was approached and did it solo. She auditioned in the past. but her tv experience may have helped her like them remembering her tape or something but she definitely auditioned. So i'm assuming Raph was also approached from his past applications.

Out of interest, did anyone here know or have suspicions he was going in?
I can't believe none of us picked up on the hints, I did think he was being more overly positive about BBUK than usual but it didn't click

No not until i saw Drew say he was going in, in bens thread, i looked back at our facebook messages and he was acting fishy and I remember him telling me he had to disable his wall because of work interviews (which was three days before eurovision) so i was thinking woah maybe he's going in. he never asked me before if i'm watching the BBUK launch but after i came home from Portugal he did and mentioned it 3 times.

Omg it actually makes sense now why he was so optimistic about the series that time the awful eye was revealed while everybody else was fuming. I just brushed it off as him being contrarian, as he usually is :joker:
