why is channel 5 so unconfident about BB?

10PM start times, confusing schedules and giving into other shows by giving them the upper hand scheduling wise rather than putting up a fight... I just don't understand :/
Honestly just improve the show and be confident with it or just don't bother at all

Yeah they have pretty much downed tools in every regard this year and should have been prepared for it since Love Island is getting even more popular, The Tasks and Twists so far this year have been so underwhelming and they have already lost one of the better and popular housemates, poor Raph might never recover after being in this car crash series.

The 8:30 PM start on night one, moving their show to 10pm to avoid clashing with Love Island at 9pm when it's been BB's slot for years, throwing in 3 ex-celebrity housemates as soon as the ratings quiver etc.
