FFS, shut up. Gawd, these sisters are irritating. Where did you being black even come into it? And surprisingly enough, they seem to have formed an alliance with the Suhks lol... All the race baiters in one team, I guess.
Just play the game, no need to constantly harp on about race!

Yeah, especially ironic considering this is the 'united kingdom of BB'... :joker::joker:
I have never seen a house so divided racially so early, and by those preaching 'a better world', no less.

It's how she felt. Do you know what it's like to be a black woman in a white male dominated society? Instead of disregarding these issues, these conversations need to be explored. Not pushed aside.

It's only the minorities who are even bringing race up.

I suppose it's easy to criticize what she's saying when you haven't experienced life from her situation or viewpoint.

if the housemates were in any way reflective of normal people in the uk, their behaviour may be worthy of analysis, but they are not.

Yes, it came out of nowhere. She needs to take criticism and not throw everything on her skin colour.

I see a lot of liberal leftard rhetoric in some of these posts. ****ing millenials.
If someone is being a dick, call them a dick. If someone is being lazy, call them lazy. If someone is being aggressive, call them aggressive. Doesn't matte rif they're black, white, brown or purple.

They're living in there so they must be feeling racial tension in the house.
It wouldn't surprise me if the very heavily right wing Ch5 covered up any racism going on in this series.

You always get one who has to turn it into a race issue, nobody even mentioned her colour at all

The only people I've seen exhibit behavior that might actually be thinly veiled racism are Sukhvinder and Deborah & Hannah.

oh, get out of here. This was not about being a black woman in a white male blah blah blah.
This was the cynical and cheap use of the race card.
It's this kind of behaviour that cheapens actual real racial issues and numbs people to situations that actually require attention and understanding. Shame on you for enabling it.

Are you assuming what I have experienced or understand?
And shame on you for enabling the cheap cynical use of the race card when it creates harmful white noise and actually damages understanding and dealing with real issues.

Completely disagree
I've just caught up - as a black or asian or ethnic minority in this country life is different and it always seems the majority never understand.
It seems like theres a lot of context we haven't seen but sad if this goes against the sisters.

Imran made a dodgy comment about it being a white house or something didn't he? That's the only example I know has been shown.
However it wouldn't surprise me if racism is coming from both sides of the house, but Ch5 will only choose to show the one side.

I don't mean out and out comments. I mean at certain times there's an inference in what they say.

Wait, so you are saying that she was right to play the race card on the assumption that she had a reason to that we didn't see?
Not that she played it in a cynical and cheap manner, based on what we did see?

Why does she bring that up? Is that her going to do that all the time now?

There are times when there is real racism and it is right to call people up on it.
There are also times when certain people DO play the race card.
People do that to try and silence their opponent or make them look as bad as possible. We all know in today's society it's a horrible thing to be 'labelled' as racist, so some people take advantage of that by labelling anyone who disagrees with them as 'racist'. It's a cheap-shot, quick-fix way to try and 'win the argument'. Happens all the time online.
But 'Racist' is a serious thing to call someone and loads of people over-use that word now. The trouble with doing that is, it waters down the meaning. It is also an insult to victims of ACTUAL racism to throw the term around so casually, simply for your own gain in any old argument.
That's exactly what Deborah was doing; she brought her colour into it as a way to try and unsettle, silence or smear Rebecca and therefore 'win' the argument.
All Rebecca had done was say that Deborah was being aggressive WHILE Deborah WAS shouting at her AGGRESSIVELY. No colour or race was mentioned. Aggression doesn't belong to any race, it's a universal thing.
And anyway, If Deborah was so concerned about some bizarre, vague, nonsensical stereotype about 'black people being aggressive' (??) then what did she think she was doing by shouting so AGGRESSIVELY in the first place?
