they didn't let her leave to get people talking and improve the ratings, they let her leave because its not a prison, and she can go any time she wants.

Not enough people care for it to affect ratings, and why on earth would that be considered interesting to anyone not currently watching the show, as that's the people they need to influence to increase their ratings.

No channel 5 seem to be a lot more strict about keeping in time and the schedule for eviction shows seem so tight, so I imagine they genuinely didn't have the time to tell her off.
