I'm actually quite shocked how negative a lot of people are being, I'm really enjoying this series. Appart from celeb week I think it's been pretty decent. I've even managed to get a bunch of my friends back into big brother through this series.

well i enjoy this series as well, i'm so glad and happy to be loving Chanelle now, already a iconic housemate for me personally :hee:

i'm now definitely done with Charlotte as a housemate, i still like her as a person, cause i think she could be quite nice and genuinely sweet outside bb

I am really enjoying it too. I don't really have a favourite though which could be helping a lot

I think the good quality of the series is being overlooked by the shambolic, awful production of C5 which seems to be worse than it's ever been before.

I'm still enjoying the episodes

I am enjoying it to the only thing that has dented it for me is the early loss of some really good housemates but that's allways the case and I didn't see the point of having 3 celebs enter on week 2.

This is one of the main reasons why i think a lot of people are being put off. And the fact it's become the Lotan show with his little group and a lot of outsiders have left already. A few evictions that go our way soon and it still has potential to be a good series

I'm enjoying it. Seems less manipulated by producers, also theres more natural comedy.

That being said, it does seem like a good vs evil house divide, and if Joe stays then the divide becomes a bit lopsided.

Same here. It's weird not to have a favourite but I get used to it.
OK maybe I stan a little bit for Rebecca.

But overall, it is not better than BB15 and 17 but way better than BB16.

Same here! Normally get really excited during the build up every year but this year I surprisingly didn't. Lots of channel 4 vibes on launch from the housemates, I think it's been great since day 1 with a couple of boring episodes here and there. Definetly didn't need the celebs either, however it was still very watchable.

Things making it work for me:
- No forced arguments, everything from Imrans 'house meetings' with Arthur bringing the dust from the kitchen to the egg gate lastnight
- Rooting for the outsiders- there all great housemates and I love how they put up with Rebecca and her ranting about the clique but still allowing her to stay in the clique
- Raph and Chanelle relationship ( most real and entertaining for years)
- Editing- I feel they have took inspiration from Canada this year; I did have points to make on this but a few grams of weed later and I forgot
- No one that gets under my skin e.g Jackson/Lewis Bloor/Stephen Goode although Lotan isn't getting any better and Ellie is so fake it's unreal; you could see the anger and devastation in her eyes lastnight when she came the to DR when the new girls arrived

I am enjoying it....just struggling to find a favourite. What makes it great a the moment is no pathetic showmances.

I'd argue the cast alone is way better than the mediocrity of BB17

Have to disagree this year everyone's way to similar especially when it's promoted as the United Kingdom of big brother. Like Imran and suki said they expected people from all walks of life and instead ended up in a house full of ex reality TV stars and people with agents.

I feel from their reaction to the housemates they were kind of misled by producers to get them in by telling them this year would reflect every aspect of society and it just didn't provide that in the slightest.

The cast isn't really 'diverse' that much I agree with. But they mix fairly well. Just the right amount of fun/arguments. Just wish producers would stop trying to interfere and just let the series run its course.

No lie that it's a mess but I'm still drawn to watch it. Hopefully it improves

TBH I don’t even understand when people say production has been a mess

- The launch night twist was original for C5, yes it involved outside contact but it was the first week so it didn’t matter that much
- The celebs were unnecessary but it was still very watchable and it resulted in Raph getting immunity x
- BB hasn’t meddled or caused arguments - it’s all been very natural
- They haven’t pulled a desperate twist even though overnights are bad
- The cast were diverse at the start and even though it’s a little samey now, they are still delivering

I'm liking it so far! There was a bit of a wobble for a few days but it's back on form.

All of this!

I don't get all the negativity either, it's been solid so far.

I'm loving the series, but not the petty squabbling that happens on season every year

To be fair, I think it's not as bad as it's being made out to be but it's by no means gripping

I don't understand the negativity either. I'm enjoying it, there's a lot more natural drama, I just hope they just let it flow. Even with the celebs going in it was so clear they wanted them to cause drama but the drama was happening around them and they weren't even involved, shows that they weren't needed. I think people need to give it a chance tbh. I'm not agreeing with the decisions to move evictions to a thursday etc for a few weeks, however when it's back to fridays 10pm could be good to avoid love island clash just for more ratings

It's a good series. Not necessarily better than last year. Just different. Definitely better than 15 and 16. It's reminding me of BB13 a bit, not just because of the divide, just the flow of things.

People are just over BB now. They want 'normal' housemates but scream boring if they don't threaten to stab each other with a knife on night one. At the same time they complain about everything forcing the producers to issue formal warnings and eject people over silly things.
The diverse and normal ones in there get evicted very early on most of the time or are branded boring.
