Sorry I havent created too many threads this series and havent been as active on the forums as I usually am. Alot has been happening in my life over the past few weeks. Anyway I never thought I would say it as I am a BB stalwarth since series 3 and never missed an episode of either BB or Celeb BB but so far this series I am enjoying Love Island more. I like both programmes and always liked BB slightly more than LI but even though its a bit of a silly concept I am soooo enjoying love island. For starters the voice over guy (sorry cant remember his name) is TONS TONS more sassy than Marcus. All of the inhabitants are drop dead gorgeous and its just so much enjoyable to watch. I look forward to it every night. I am just wondering are there any other die hard BB fans that feel the same way :conf:

LI just feels like all of the negative traits of BB, and losing any of the George Orwell elements.

This is about Love Island, yes I enjoy watching it but it feels like it's constantly repeating itself. Like all series are pretty much the same thing basically and all discussions are who likes who etc and tbh all of the cast are a lot more shallow than the BB cast.

I honestly don't see the appeal in watching a series because everyone is "gorgeous" to me that's where BB are going wrong and they need to get older housemates in not all these early twenty something's who all look and act the same. Look at the celebs in CBB for instance most of them are older and far more entertaining.

Never watched it but I may do at some point. It sounds though like its BB with even more 'plastic barbie/ken' types and even more push for showmances :S
That said I hated the idea of ex on the beach until I watched it and I did kind of enjoy it

Love Island is exciting, if you're interested in the cast.
However, one thing it has over BB right now (which it really shouldn't) is how well it executes the evictions. Last night had a double eviction where the islanders eliminated 2 of the 4 with the fewest votes and it was SO dramatic and actually on the edge of your seat TV. Big Brother is just messy all the time, but maybe because it does them live..

You're right, Iain Stirling is way better than Marcus
But yeah (and I know this has been said hundreds of times), Love Island is actually more like Big Brother than Big Brother itself is. I guarantee over half of the detractors would like it if they gave it a shot, I wasn't expecting to stick with it when I first gave the revival a go but it's very well produced. The editing is fairer, the twists are better executed, the casts are more 'normal' than BB's and the showmance aspect - despite being the focal point of the show - plays less of a prominent role than you might imagine
In the last three years, I'd say only BB17 was marginally better than it's Love Island counterpart

I may give it a go tbh I do like the fact it's only in its 3rd year and the contestants really have no idea how big it is reminds me of old school BB and omg anyone is a better narrator than Marcus lol here for BB moving to ITV2 and ditching him.

Haha Im not that way inclined. I like Ellie, Kieran, Lotan, Savannah Isabelle and to a degree Tom and Joe. I dislike Hannah Deborah Raph and to a degree Chanelle. I find Charlotte a bit of a bore.
I dont really have a favourite anymore but I will stick it out to the end as usual
