View Full Version : would raph be nearly as popular on here if he wasn't a member?
controversial thread maybe, but I really don't think he would be. i think the forum's opinions towards him would be similar to andy bb17

I really didn't like him the first few days
And the fact he was a member made me like him even less I think because he was SO over rated on here
But through what he has shown he has completley changed my opinion and I can't help but like him now

I like him, barely spoke to him on here so that doesn't cloud my judgement. I think he's a nice guy but his political views (and taste in housemates in past series) are a bit weird.

I think he would still be liked on here... not seeing him getting an Andy reception this far into the series, maybe more like Dan I don't know?

No they aren't
There are always calls to 'cull the deadwood' and stuff and Raph hasn't really done anything besides carry tales so would be classed as 'deadwood'.
Though he would like that given most of his faves in BBUK over the years have been utter bores too :D

I think this is likely as he is shoved in peoples faces on here a lot. he is barely spoken about elsewhere

Well he is popular among housemates, people on BOTS, Facebook, DigitalSpy, so I'd argue yes

Same since I didn't know him beforehand. Yeah I'd seen his posts, but we never spoke, so I didn't have a reason to be biased. And oh yeah, i forgot about Nicola supporting him, and I'm sure Helen does/did too. No one else comes to mind but he's definitely popular among various groups
Vicky.
27-06-2017, 11:10 PM
He would be the 'nice but boring' one. Who is barely spoken about, but popular with the BOTS crowd as he is a nice person albeit a bit dull. and would probably win due to everyone else being a dickhead and him being normal. Which I still think will happen

Raph is clearly playing the Andy BB17, Ben BB11 role.
And even though he won't like me for saying this, a bit of Siavash BB10 aswell and they all had big Internet fanbases.

Raph is a nice lad,its hard not to bitch on bb, as the show is based on talking to nice to someone's face and then nominating them in the diary room.
For me, on here members dig at housemates because they don't like the member who supports them and vice versa.
If there where stronger character's raph would be lost in there.

I actually like Raph and he's definitley not my type of housemate!
It's not because he's a member of this forum but I just see proper potential in him as a housemate.....though his American throwing his arms around whilst talking does piss me off.

The short answer is, no, he wouldn't. Of course not. That's clearly obvious.
The longer answer is that he does nothing in there except spread hate and tension between the factions. He is the lowest type of game player. Half fence sitter, half snake. There would be very little to be liked by him by anyone, even here, if he wasn't known and adopted as 'our boy'.
To pretend anything else would be disingenuous.

That's because people are resentful. Yeah he's not the most thrilling housemate but he's defenitley caused a lot of drama and that's what we all tune in for.
People may state that he's quiet but he's far from that....this boy is stirring **** up.

Plenty stir it up, and are hated. That's never been a reason to be liked here.
He is liked because he is seen as nice but boring. An alternative option to the loud ones that inevitably offend early on. A neutral when everyone is vying for attention. Even someone that is seen as 'intellectual', even though he has displayed zero actual intelligence, that folks can feel superior about supporting.
Otherwise he would be seen as just boring.

So you've completely missed him playing his game listening in on conversations and then telling his friends what's been said and then going on to say "no....please don't go confront them" lol.....he is a proper underdog and this is the first year ive supported a game player and it's not because he's a fellow member but because I'm impressed by his strategy
Epic.
28-06-2017, 01:24 AM
The reason I still think he'd be liked is that he's leading an unpopular crew within the house, which include Chanelle, Hannah, Deborah and Isabelle, all of which are quite liked here for the most part. So I imagine their leader would still be fairly appreciated.

No, I have not missed him playing his game. Ofc not. But, oh please... His token resistance before spilling his guts didn't fool anyone with a clear eye on him.
I don't believe you, sorry.

It worked though didn't it....it caused uproar in the house. Can't deny he's very intelligent when it comes to the game....BUT he's also showed his true self when getting upset with certain housemates.
I think Raph may be a strange herb.

I'd like him almost as much if not exactly as much. The way I'm looking at it is I'll support him no matter what and it'd be nice to see him win but I'm judging his character on whether I honestly like him or not. I didn't even know Raph much at all on the forum but he seemed like a nice, contributing member and he's kinda the same way on the show. :clap1:

Well, he is and he isn't. He plays it in a very basic way, but makes stupid blunders. It's honestly hard to tell if he is a good game player at this point, or just benefiting from the 'quiet but dull' credit he built up early on when he did nothin'. I am not sure his actual 'playing' has done anything but harm him.

Siavash was the true winner of BB10 imo, he only lost the show through his own stupidity which was ashame.
