Remember in BBUK4 when Nush was evicted and everyone went to the ~Rewards Room~ or whatever the next day and carried Steph around and danced while she wore a blonde wig and it felt like the end of a horror movie? That's what this season's felt like to me for the past month or so.

This is both oddly specific and scarily accurate (but since it's lasted for over a month as opposed to about a week, and we're dealing with the likes of Paul, Josh and Alex rather than... idk, Cameron Stout, it's even worse)

yeah so the latest developments have been Paul concocting a split vote plan to make Christmas break a tie, openly telling people that this is his plan so he doesn't get any blood on his hand, and Christmas not only not giving a ****, but giving Josh her stern, smug, condescending lectures bc Josh actually realized that this literally only benefits Paul.

Macie Lightfoot
06-09-2017, 02:33 AM
Yeah I mean at this point everyone just talks **** about Raven as soon as she leaves the room. She was on a roll today, talking about running marathons and her 6:20 mile time (not fast at all) and her 5K time being 18 or 19 minutes (actually decently fast, but literally impossible with that mile time), and her mother having breast cancer and Raven having to get mammograms twice a year and how they found fibroid cysts in her breasts. Raven's mother is very smart though, she almost graduated law school!

Raven's been on a tear this afternoon. Needs a mammogram every six months. Ran a mile in 6 point something minutes. Had two holes in her stomach you could see through.

If they'd kept Raven, Paul would have two lone girls aligned with him and only one pair left which I thought was his original plan? idk why Kevin is still there

Macie Lightfoot

bc Paul is not nearly as good at the game as he pretends to be

Jack_

Paul's game has its imperfections for sure (jury management being one of them) but it has been pretty much a masterclass these last few weeks

Orchestrating an HoH comp where you get everyone to throw it unknowingly to one person is absurd

Macie Lightfoot
08-09-2017, 03:15 AM

I don't even think production care about him anymore, they got their 40 episodes so they're not going to rig now (not that it doesn't excuse his favouritism the rest of the season). They didn't have to show Josh's and then Paul's goodbye message like that but they did, I think they just want some kind of competition and to not make it seem obvious that Paul will win. This is why I love that Part 3 of the Final HoH is basically a crapshoot, because like Queen Vanessa your whole game can be undone due to one question.

See I don't like that because I don't think 90+ days of hard work should be determined on the whim of a nonsensical crapshoot, I will always value social game over competitions but there is merit to the latter, especially when it comes to studying. BBCan have it right by making it a Q&A about the season

How has/is he though?

It's like putting a second year B-grade student in a class with a bunch of first year E-grade students and saying "wow, that B grade student has to be one of the most intelligent, remarkable student of all time.

09-09-2017, 01:00 AM
The biggest problem I have with Paul's game is his lack of transparency with the evictees, that goodbye message was a joke. Own your moves and leave them to stew over it in the jury house, there is no reason to still be lying to them.

I get that it probably comes from a place of thinking 'I got screwed by a 'bitter' jury last season so I need to make them bitter against other people' (hence all the orchestrated call-outs and arguments) but there comes a point where the jury might actually think why are you hiding away from your moves?

I'm also very concerned that Alex, Jason and Josh could be really bitter jurors

Macie Lightfoot
09-09-2017, 01:09 AM
Paul pulled the exact same **** with his goodbye message to Da'Vonne last season so he's really showing himself to be someone who hasn't tried to learn from his mistakes. And the fact that he's trying to get to the end with Josh and Kevin apparently and now wants to cut Christmas at F4???? Like... good job putting yourself in a position where you need to win a crapshoot HOH to get to the final two.

Paul has only been so successful because these people don't know how to play the game. Put him in a season with actual players and he wouldn't last 5 minutes.

He put himself in the middle of three pairs - all who believed they had a F3 with them, and who continue to believe that he didn't betray them. He then orchestrated like what, three/four HoH's in a row? So that his target in each particular pair would go home, leaving the other glued to him, and then went and managed to convince four other people to throw a ****ing track comp to a girl with a broken foot.

I think the dumb cast thing that people are floating around is just a bit of a poor excuse. Are these people the brightest players they've ever casted? Of course not. But you work with what you've got. I also believe there's an argument to be made for their perceived stupidity being Paul's doing. He's both convinced and terrified over half the house into thinking that a) he's loyal to them and their partner only and b) that his dirty work is to the benefit of them all. And this is with him being the only vet in a cast full of newbies. He has completely misted them and his social manipulation is completely on point just as it was last year.

I get that people don't like Paul. I don't like him as much as I did last season because Friendship Paul is a lot funnier than Demonic Paul, but to deny that he's played a stellar game thus far is just silly IMO. Like, I didn't like Maggie but she absolutely deserved to win BB6. Everyone knows how much I hate(d) Scumanda, but there's no denying the impeccable hold she had on the house up until the last few weeks. As dull as I found her, Michele's social game in Survivor earned her the win and I respect that. There comes a point where objectivity comes into it and even if you don't like someone you should be able to admit they've played well

Ross.

I think he's trying to learn from his mistakes (hence trying to make everyone else [notably Josh] the bad guys and get them to burn their own jury votes and not his, like he did last year) but he just isn't going about it the right way.

I think Paul has done fine with most of his goodbye messages this year. That one yesterday was very questionable but overall his jury management has been improved and I think with how much control he's had over the game this time around, the jury will give him the win (I hope so anyway). The problem is he has to get there and I think some of his most recent decisions are hurting his chances for that. I think he might value keeping Kevin too much which is just not actually that great for him in the second half of this game. That could be his downfall.

Also, I still think Paul was better entertainment last year (even despite stepping up in that department in the recent portion of the season). BUT he's played even better this year and after two years in a row of ALL THIS, he truly deserves the win so it'll be a shame if he doesn't get it. (albeit still pretty funny to me if it happens to be back to back runner ups :joker:)

I'm pretty hopeful he can win over the jury this time even if they're bitter at him (or want to act bitter like I feel some of them want to do lol). Him mentioning how many days he's played this game now is already an eyebrow raiser, not to mention how much he actually did to accomplish that.

JerseyWins
09-09-2017, 03:33 AM
It also doesn't matter who he takes IMO. I think his worst shot would be against Christmas so it's actually pretty smart of him to want her out - probably an easy beat in the F3 comps though so it's like a catch-22.

Enough people mildly liked Kevin but hardly anyone will be crediting him with the win unless he makes some big move at the end (or just by taking someone like Josh possibly)... but I think he never wins if it's a F2 situation with Paul.

I feel like Alex has minimal chance of winning in general and Josh has about no shot unless he successfully takes out Paul which I don't think he will be able to unless he wins that F3 HOH. It's a shame though because I think Josh has played decently well but I doubt the jury credits him for much of anything if he doesn't accomplish something big here at the end.

Christmas is currently critiquing the games of Ramses and Jessica.

Christmas wants to go to the end with Paul and lose.

Did Christmas really tell Josh to pick Paul to take to the final 2 over her? I don't know why I'm shocked but, she's going to get a BIG reality check when Paul takes the 500k and never speaks to her again.

Wizard.
09-09-2017, 11:57 AM
I feel like Josh's problem when it comes to his thinking of evicting Paul this week is that he's so oblivious to the fact that he could pull Kevin off, put Paul up and convince Kevin to evict Paul making it a tie, but all he sees is pulling Alex off and then knowing that Paul wouldn't be evicted and I feel like that's down to the fact that he's so blinded because of his arguments with Kevin that he doesn't know that he could flip Kevin.

I feel like if Alex wins this veto she is going to final 3 just because i can't see how they get rid of her? I mean she's already talked about throwing the veto to Paul so that Paul will be safe and then can save her meaning Christmas goes up on the block, however Paul doesn't want to win so she might go for it. I can actually see Paul maybe wanting to get rid of Josh at the final 4, but I feel like they might throw the final 4 veto to Christmas, letting her vote to evict Kevin or Alex.

Paul is taking Josh to F2 and Josh is gonna win this season

Why can't he ever tie the game up properly this is so frustrating

Braden
14-09-2017, 11:10 AM
Do you think? I think he's got it in the bag. I could see Cody, Elena and Mark voting for him in that situation. Matt and Raven are 100% gonna vote for Paul, as would Kevin and Christmas.

Jack_
14-09-2017, 11:19 AM
I'm sure I read somewhere that Mark said Josh would have his vote if he made it to the end and that he forgives him. I know Cody's said he'll vote for Paul but I could definitely see him take the opportunity to **** him over, even if it is to the benefit of Josh. I can see Alex and Jason being super bitter and my worry is if they and Maven compare notes, they all realise they've been played and Matt especially feels betrayed.

My biggest concern though is Josh winning part 3, I don't know why Paul is making this difficult for himself again. He has a crippled woman incapable of competing in probably the first two parts, and a total goat...what is he thinking? I know there's the whole 'she broke her foot' angle but I think Christmas would be his best bet for F2.

Braden
14-09-2017, 11:33 AM
Yeah, I was hesistant about Mark because he did refer to Josh as a brother, but he could be easily swayed if Elena and Cody do the same. I don't even think Maven are capable of comapring notes, and even seeing Paul playing them as a bad thing. There secure votes for sure. Alex and Jason are the only ones I'm not sure about, but I'd say they'd still vote for Paul over Josh.

I do agree that it's best for Paul to take Christmas, though.

Paulie & Zakiyah will always be the worst showmance (Ratt come close though)

Liz and Austin
Matt and Raven
Literally up there as the best showmances of all time!!!

Nicole is punching, Victor got hot tbh

The worst showmance is definitely Paulie and Zakiyah. The best is the-showmance-that-never-quite-happened-but-almost-was, Will and Janelle

Not sure which I find worse tbh... Jordeff or Jody. Definitely two of the worst showmances of all time.

Paul won part 1

Shocker! I'd love if Christmas isn't medically cleared for Part 2 so Josh automatically wins.

One problem that I can't seem to get over in Paul's plan is that if he wins the Final HoH then he wants to evict Xmas but wouldn't that leave Xmas up to vote for Josh in the end? I mean I know she's in love with Paul and she's dumb but will she not feel hurt after that? I don't think he's thought that through. He would definitely win against Xmas, even if some are bitter, but he thinks for some bizarre reason that Xmas is Nicole and Josh is James, when it's the other way around, and also there's no feminists on the jury this year so it doesn't matter if he takes a girl.

Its sad that even if Josh saves the season and evicts Paul, he would probably still lose the game.

That's kind of a win win for me actually and it would give us the end we deserve! Paul goes out @ 3 and Josh pulls a Paul

That amount of overplaying would be nuts... but it fits what Paul has been doing since jury. :worry:

The jury laughing at Raven's delusion just confirms to me Paul should've kept her as his F2

100%

Not only that but she would be playing for him / taking him all the way through to the end as well. If he loses that will be his biggest mistake.

If the final 3 was Paul/Raven/Christmas, Paul would already be the winner right now.

Raven and Kevin would have had him locked in. I still think he's locked in but he must like making it hard for himself?

Because although Paul has had most people under his thumb for the entire game, it's safe to say that his perceptions and judgement is still a little off?

She is NOT terrible but that would be a very "meh" disappointing winner (mainly with Paul & Josh being the other options).

I think it should be like The Belko Experiment where the F3 should be forced to kill each other and the one that makes it out alive wins.
