that BOTs follows it directly and people are more likely to watch it, I haven't watched BOTS in ages but did so last night...what a crappy panel though...
They moved it to 10pm because they're getting rid of it next year I think. Ben Frow said a few years back that that's what they would do when they were retiring the show.
Also they have no faith in the format and are too scared to clash with any programme so have it on at 10pm when no other channel would be airing new content.
But I wouldn't put it passed their idiotic brains that they would try to spite the main show to improve the spin off's ratings.

Ben Frow actually said he would air it at 11pm if he could, but it's too expensive. This year they've said the 10pm slot has gotten better ratings than it would at 9pm (because BB gets roughly the same in either slot, yet usually the C5 standard at 10 is a lot lower than 9)

Would it actually get better ratings though? Some people don't want to wait until 10pm every night to watch a show.

Put it this way (this is pure example)
Channel 5 average 800k in the 9pm hour and 600k in the 10pm hour
Airing BB at 9pm will get 900k which is 100k above average while airing it at 10pm would get it 2/300k above average
That's what they said last week, that airing it at 10 gets them 25% more share whereas 9pm only gets them like 15%

So they're looking at the ratings in comparison to the usual time slot ratings, not to the usual BB ratings in a different time slot if that makes sense

Oh right. Thanks.
So they're not that bothered about the actual rating then I presume - just the fact that Love Island is miles ahead of them?

I guess they could have moved it so as not to clash with LI, I like it at 10pm, 9 it can clash with dramas, 10pm its clashing with the news..
From next year on wards it's likely Love Island will be on prime time ITV1 all summer and the two shows won't be compared anymore due to LI being way out of BB's league.

Actually not sure if they'll do this as the World Cup is next year and would just cause problems in the schedule, plus it's a very 'ITV2' show

I prefer it being on at 9pm tbh but I'll still tune in at 10

I know it's doing well, but I don't think ITV would risk putting LI on their main channel. It's very comfortable on ITV2 and is doing wonders for the channel. I think that's as far as it'll go really. ITV and ITV2 are different audiences.
put BB on at 3am so they don't have to worry about other channels!

Not a chance. ITV2 is allowed to get away with showing sex on TV but the main Channel could never do that.
