It always came across to me that Arthur was deliberately winding people up and his claims of bullying were unjustified.

I think it was a a couple of things. Arthur thought winding people up would be hilarious and pass the time, but he didn't realise a few of them were getting angered by it.

Then they purposely secluded him from the group, "ghosting" him.

Arthur was kinda hilarious though, managed to turn everyone agaisnt him in a few days.

Then he just disappeared. Was so weird he seemed alright at first, it was like his mind kind of snapped in there.
