View Full Version : Ratings news- Share is actually UP on last year?

Even though in terms of numbers it's half a million down, the share for the series last year was well under 6% average. Pretty sure the late slot this year has pushed it over 6%
So, that's how much difference a later slot makes?

It makes sense tbh
Would they rather have 800~k viewers at 9pm with a low share
OR
Have 800~k viewers at 10pm with a high share
It’s obvious.

I thought the episodes (bar weekends and evictions) have been at 10 for years? Even on C4?

Most C4 went out at 9. Evictions in first 7 years went out 8 30-10. So a 10-11 35 eviction was a first.
On C5 only this series and BB15 went out mostly at 10. So the reason thus years share is higher than BB17 despite a big overall difference is quite interesting.

I know the evictions were always at 9 or earlier (the BB7 schedule was my favourite) but didn't realise the highlights had been at 9, certainly not last year. I clearly have a short memory

If it weren't for it being an even bigger slap in the face I don't think I'd care if they moved it to 11 like Frow suggested a year or so ago. The evictions should always be at 9, but 11 would still be fine for me and if they could pull idk 600k wouldn't that be pretty good for that slot?
I'm not convinced they care about any of this though. Frow's talk in Edinburgh will be interesting to say the least, I wonder if they do axe it whether they'll want to get on with announcing it so he can discuss that rather than 'will you/won't you'

They were. BB17 and LI2 clashed for like 5 weeks.
They were both getting around 1m-1.1m in the 9pm slot.

I think most 9pm episodes, even though they got around 1.1 million, only got like 4%
I do remember that last years 10pm episodes ratedmuch better, getting around 1.4 million, and I was at the time so confused why they weren't putting all their episodes on at 10pm. Then Ben Frow said at the TV festival in august that he had also realised that, hence why this year is all at 10pm... but for some reason it's suddenly not working like that anymore...

The main issue with the viewing figures going down I think is because people are choosing Love Island over BB and they both attract similar viewers.

I don't think this is entirely accurate. Whether BB and love island clash or not, BB is very consistent. In fact, one of BBs best ratings the last 3 weeks was the day it clashed with Love Island and Love Island got its highest ever..

I hope big brother learn next year that they need to cast a lot of normal people and a difference age rage because the people who watch BB are the older and younger generation. It says a lot that the ratings went down on the ratings thread and the officials right after Suhkvinder and Imran went (two normal people) At least with Love Island they know their target audience which is a different audience to big brother.

Well it'll be the last year so it'll be a piss take if they decide to learn now:

Oh yeah i didn't think of that, yeah i agree but there's 90% chance they won't especially with the rumours about it moving abroad (Love Island teas)

It is nit moving abroad lol
If it is their last year, I want it to either be all stars or I want them to go all out and not give a damn about ratings and fully embrace the US format or some sort of merge or just some sort of drastic, but exciting, change. Nothing to lose.
