I doubt this is even about the money yet.

I'm guessing they were told to get into the two teams and when the buzzer in the living area starts glowing/ringing the first team to press it gets control of the first "steal"?

Nah, i think the one person from the winning team will win between 10k and 20k, and the winner over all will win 65k (maybe the losers pot will go back to the winners fund, and probably the 2nd chancers fun too)

I think whats going to happen is...the winning team (being whoever wins the most cash from this 20k)...they will get the chance to either steal the money or add it to the prize fund. If only one person steals they get the full 20k (or however much the team has won), if two take it then its split...and so on.

This winning it back malarky cannot be all there is to it. It just can't

That way they could reduce the number of hms quickly

He doesn't individually get the money, it would go to his whole team. Deborah has said that she needs/wants the money for her daughter so obviously Raph will try his best to win it for her. At the end the winning team members compete against each other (if I remember correctly).

He is not getting it for himself, Raph doesn't need/care about the money. Imagine if he just sat back and let his team fail because he just personally didn't care about winning the cash? That would be a **** thing to do. He is trying to get his team to win, rightfully so.
