Yeah but if they did actually kiss before the end of the series it would be much more believable too, kind of why Helen and Pauls relationship was more romance and less showmance because we saw their relationship actually develop

Debs is more realistic , she wants a man not a plaything ! Kieran probably does fancy her - but he is trying to get airtime and is not very successful , i think he would have relished a girl to pursue but Debs is only interested in long term , not poxy showmances like Smellie.
