View Full Version : Why I think Raph can't win

He's been nice enough but he hasn't had an over-arching storyline like Jason did, he hasn't had the sympathy Chloe got, he's not been a main character like Helen was and he doesn't have a disability like Sam and isn't transgender like Luke.

He also has to contend with the fact he's American, so has no support from one area of the country (this is what I believed was Hughie's downfall), Chanelle was evicted which I think will translate more into Isabelle votes rather than Raph votes AND on top of all of that he's a forum fav.

He has all the odds against him but it'll be interesting to see if I'm proven wrong.

Right now I just want him in the final.. A tibb member in the final would be amazing :cheer2:

For the last while I didn't think he could win it anymore, but he's starting to get a winner's edit so who knows. I'm happy with either him or Isabelle tbh

The reason I think he won't win is because if/when it comes down to him vs Isabelle because he's had more hate than her I could just see people voting her last minute as an anti-Raph vote. That's the ONLY way I think Coleen Nolan could've beaten Jedward for example

I'll take a top 3 as a huge triumph and I think he will feel like a winner just making the final itself.

I have enjoyed him on BB this year more than the others, this isn't The X-Factor forget about bloody journeys!

isn't transgender like Luke.

I mean, he's gay like Brian and... Julian Clary?

But I agree with everything else. As amazing as Raph has been I just can't see him winning (a little part of me thinks he could be leaving tomorrow, but we all know Vanessa wouldn't allow that), especially with Isabelle there. She just seems like the set winner because of her storyline (and kinda sympathy?). She kinda combines Chloe's lack of confidence and nice girl vote with the initially hated and then loved storyline of Helen (I've always loved her and as have many of us, but she was very much disliked earlier on </3)

As great as Debs is, I can't even see her winning either for this reason. I'm trying not to be biased but Issy's just the clear winner imo

I really hope you're right  While he was my initial fave, I'm putting all my votes towards Issy - I'm scared others will be the same and he'll lose support

Yes, the anti vote is pretty strong. The only reason Sam Evans won was because Dexter/Gina were so hated. Sam had next to no fans, just people didn't tend to mind him where so many really hated Gina and Dexter

I wouldn't say Raph has hate though as such. Definitely not in the leagues Gina/Dexter did anyway :D

Ofc but being transgender means you automatically win lol. Which isn't a problem, just a fact based on experience.

I think Raph and Issy will make the final. And probably Debs. Then it's between Kieran and Tom. Hannah is gone.

Raph and Issy are the safest for tomorrow's backdoor. I could see it being two of the other four.

There's only been two transgender housemates have there not? (excluding Rebekah from BB10 and Zuleyka from BB6) Yeah Nadia and Luke won but Kellie and Lauren didn't win (they were in CBB granted, but yeah)

Hmm well, I'd say Isabelle has Chloe's sympathetic storyline, you kind of root for her. Hannah and Deborah have had the sort of Jason/Charlie storyline but obviously in a different way, with Deborah being the Jason (people feeling like she's a saint putting up with the other). Honestly Raph is kind of Sam Evans-esque but like someone said there's not going to be a Gina/Dexter in the final for him to win against.

The biggest point that I agree with you on is no home territory.

Even on the last X Factor series, Saara had the biggest fanbase, but because she was from Finland she ended up finishing 2nd, I even remember Nicole played a nationalistic angle to stop Saara from winning.

I know that it's separate shows, but we have seen on BB over the years that the foreign Housemates possess big fanbases on the Internet but it never materialises quite the same with the general public (with the exception of Gary Busey) and we have seen people try different tactics aswell such as Perez Hilton playing the troll angle, Tiffany from the year that Scotty T won, and loads more to mention that always finish lower than what any Internet poll, or even what the Bookies are saying.

Never say never.

He has been getting a sympathy edit in the last episode and he'll definitely get the FB mum/female vote over the likes of Isabelle and Deborah.

Isabelle for me...she's really hasn't done much but she's quite humble..takes a joke and can laugh at herself. She doesn't take anything seriously. The only 2 things I didn't like was her low blow to Lotan...and I didn't like Lotan one little bit...and she underplayed herself being Chanelles sidekick.
She hasn't played any game and just flowed with it...Rather her than Raph any day.

For someone with no home territory Raph has now got a good fanbase. So I wouldn't count him out.

Where do people get this idea that females/mums/older women vote for young males?

I'm all of the above (except I don't do FB) and my faves are normally women.

Same with most of the women I speak to.

So did Hughie? The one thing Raph has in his favor which might make him win is his "Superfan" status and people might want to make his dream come true.

Like Trisha just pointed out, Raph has had an evolution in the house so in fact he could win and hopefully he will.

He hasn't raised his voice once. He has apologised as soon as he knows he's upset someone. He is entirely himself and extraordinarily pleasant and well balanced. If he doesn't manage to win he will be magnanimous about it. One of the best housemates ever...

Unlike the others he has a brilliant career ahead of him anyway, so not winning will hardly hamper or impair his bright future. In my book that makes him successful. If he doesn't manage to win I would really like him to come second - just for his steadfastness if nothing else.

Raph didn't have a great episode tonight but he will make the final. But I can't see him getting better than 3rd. The top 3 will most probably be Isabelle, Deborah and Raph and Raph is the most hated out of them three so there could be an anti Raph win vote in the final night more than anti Deborah or Isabelle
