Won't catch Issy going for tapas with baggy fanny :hmph:

He always got on well with most of the housemates so why wouldn't he be having lunch with 'em?
It's an awkward situation, isn't it? Not sure whether to say that Chanelle needs to grow up a bit - as I think I'd react the same.

tbf though, they all met at the same time and Raph got on with both of them so why shouldn't he be friends with them both just because them two don't get on? It'd be like him expecting Chanelle not to stay in contact with Issy because Raph decided he didn't like her

Oooh.
I got the impression too (but it's probably not the case) he wasn't much for her. He kind of downplayed her win by saying she would have won because she wasn't a 'POC' like him and Deborah and I think he said Deborah would have won in his opinion if we had live feed over Isabelle.

Silly cow needs to grow up. I used to be close friends with people who hated each other, their issues weren't my issues. I don't remember Raph and Rebecca having any problems with each other, why should Chanelle's feuds dictate who he can associate with?
Marsh.
02-10-2017, 03:15 PM
Tbf, she's saying she's not holding it against Raph.
But she'd have to be made of steel to not feel something about it. No matter how irrational.
Probably wrong to put it out there on a public forum though, might make Raph feel awkward.
Nancy.

He seemed pro Lotan from replies didn't he?
Which baffles me, no matter what we missed he was still vile towards her and since Raph never gave us any details my guess is what we were shown was accurate. Maybe a little sour grapes on Raph's behalf that she beat him?

Yeah I asked him what he thought about the way Lotan behaved towards Issy (not just that night but in general) and he just totally ignored the question twice
I wouldn't like to speculate as to why, I like Raph but it did seem to me that he wasn't very keen on Issy tbh
Amy Jade
02-10-2017, 03:50 PM
Yeah I noticed your Lotan questions were ignored too, not to be a bitch but he seemed to stop replying to anything other than questions that started with 'big fan here loved you' etc after a while.
Either way I hope Chanelle and Raph stay friends!

Putting my opinions on these housemates aside, if my friend went for dinner with somebody that I absolutely couldn’t stand…
I’d be pretty pissed off, call me what you will.
However, I wouldn’t go on a social media rant about it, I would just keep the opinion to myself, or politely talk it out with my friend.
Loved the 3 of them as housemates though.

Hmm I personally wouldn't go to lunch with someone I know a close friend strongly dislikes.
I can kind of see why Chanelle is annoyed tbh. She has proven time and time again just how loyal she is as a friend, and I know it would definitely batter my trust a little if my best friend started hanging around with my worst enemy. That being said, Raph just seems like the type of person who wants to be friends with everyone and doesn't really get caught up in drama. Like I don't think you're going to see him bitching about Chanelle behind her back to Rebecca or anything.
Also Raph's praise for Lotan definitely threw me off a bit too. Apart from the obvious reason of Lotan being a misogynistic prick who treated Issy like crap, he also made a low-key homophobic video on Twitter that was completely mocking Raph.
Daniel.

I don't care what's said, if my best friend went lunch with someone I didn't like I would be absolutely livid.

02-10-2017, 08:56 PM
Are they really 'worst enemies' though? None of them even knew each other a few months ago and I didn't watch enough of BB18 to know, but is it really any more than they just didn't get along when they lived together for a few weeks? I dunno I find it all really childish tbh. I've had situations in the past where friends of mine have fallen out, and I've seen them separately and it's never been an issue. Or you have some friends that don't like other friends. Not everyone can like each other, but you don't start cutting friends out your life because of it. If the issue is between Channelle and (Rebecca?) then it's between them, has nothing to do with Raph.
Jake.

Why does she think that she has the right to decide who Raph should and shouldn't hang out with? They are their own people and if she had any respect for him, she'd talk to him privately about it rather than posting it all over Twitter.

omg yes I picked up on the Isabelle... distaste (?) as well. Like sure, it's okay to be upset that you didn't win and got completely outplayed by an orange bimbo despite being A True Superfan. But like... lmfao at a well-groomed, perfectly handsome half-Asian (?) guy thinking he was born behind the eight ball just as much as the black single mother who spent more than half her time in the Diary Room speaking in an obnoxious Nigerian accent.

Still think Issy being white made no difference to her win, and think it diminishes her win to insinuate Raph and Deb lost to her because of their ethnicity.
Issy was just the best housemate end of.

I don't think her being white made a difference either tbh. Most people instantly wrote her off when she was one of the 3 hopefuls to get in, I know I did, I completely judged a book by it's cover so to speak. Issy totally surprised people, what won it for her was the Lotan stuff and her complete selflessness with putting herself up for eviction over Sam and giving away her time with her sister. I liked Raph and Deborah alot but they didn't do anything note worthy like that that would make them win over Issy imo
I would actually say Issy had a lot more odds stacked against her than Raph for the win. For starters she was a strong female who actually stood up for herself and played a major part in the series, so that in itself is enough to make the usual British GP hate her. I mean look at how she was destined to go the week Savannah was evicted, all because she dared to stand up to the alpha male bully.
It was 100% her personality and her actions in the house itself that won the public over, nothing to do with her skin colour.

To be fair though Raph wouldn't have had any idea how things were playing out on the outside or what was being shown and who was popular/unpopular etc, so I think what he's saying is that he was just going off the fact that POC don't usually end up winning and that's what he was thinking while he was in the house, which is true really, rather than saying after the fact that Isabelle won because of it or that she wouldn't have deserved it regardless.
