View Full Version : Bruno Langley (Todd Grimshaw) pleads guilty to sexual assault charges
Scarlett.

A spokesman for the soap confirmed: “Bruno Langley is no longer contracted to Coronation Street.”
Allegations of inappropriate behaviour were made by a woman in her 30s who was at a Manchester nightclub called Band on the Wall.
The actor, who denies her claims, is understood to have been among cast members there who had gone to see ex-Corrie colleague Craig Charles perform a DJ set.
Bruno said last night: “I’d like to thank all of my friends who work on the show for their love, friendship and support during this extremely difficult period.”

:( I’m gonna miss Todd’s one-liners, and he’s taking Summer with him, which means we won’t get to see more of Tilly being parents :fist:
But it’s the right decision if these claims are true

The claims must hold water, as Corrie usually stands by stars until they're proven guilty.
Will be sad to see the character, Todd, go.
Gutted tbh, Todd was my favourite character. I bet that’s put them up **** Creek. Todd is quite integral atm.

There must be some truth to the allegations if he's been fired.
They didn't fire William Roache or Michael Le Vell until they were proven otherwise.

Kate Oates seemed to have a lot of plans for him and wanted him centre stage. What a shame.

Summer's going with him?
If so, I take it Billy is too?

:skull: I don't watch soaps anymore so how do they usually deal with something like this? Do they write them out and get them to film exit scenes or is it dismissal with immediate effect?
What if they're in the middle of a big storyline and are in one episode and then just disappear the next?

Depends. If they're axed and see out their contract then an exit is written in.
If it's immediate effect like this seems to be then it means re-writes and a swift explanation.
Stephanie Davis, when she was axed from Hollyoaks just had the last episode she filmed re-edited to facilitate an exit. They used a shot of her storming out of her house as her ending and said she'd just left.

What made it funnier was that she was sacked for always turning up late and drunk having a big drinking problem.
And her last shot was reading a text on her phone, getting angry she downs a glass of wine and storms out. :skull: :skull: :skull: It couldn't have been more apt.
Although, her storyline made it easy for her to be written out, they were lucky. :hehe:

One of my favourite characters  they handled The Asians dads departure pretty well so I guess they will just airbrush him out he is not a central character at the moment, if it were Pat Phelan or Anna Windass they would be stuffed

He really is though
He's running the lawyers with Adam, he's got the whole story with Summer, Billy is about to start a big story, so presumbly that's all going to have to be changed, his mother is married to Phelan and he's now or was the only Grimshaw kid left. It's not going to be easy to just delete him from the street.

He is barely shown, the Asian dad was in the middle of an affair and storyline about the fake apartments he and his mistress were just axed no one cared, I don't even remember his name

He's one of the most prominent characters at the minute  But anyway, my point is, he's in the middle of a story right now that is going to be tricky to write him out of.

And my point is, so was Sharif ..they wrote him out with no issues and he was far more central than Todd

Not sure he was fired ,according to this he has left, I assume while this is being investigated, I wonder how they will write him out, or will they kill him off ?
Left before he was pushed? Sounds very odd. No arrests have been made, and yet he's in some way left the role.

It's a pity he's gone.
We don't really know the whole story of what has become the issue as to this.
All I want to read is that Pat Phelan is gone as a character then I may watch Corrie again at times.
In fact now Todd's gone, and surely Phelan gets his comeuppance soon, get rid of wishy washy Eileen too.
With the likely scandal of Phelan,Jason unlikely to ever be back and Todd gone.
Eileen is then totally redundant.
Scarlett.

I think Jason's actor has a role in Neighbours now too
Scarlett.

Apparently Todd's last scenes will be on Christmas Eve, they will be rewritten from that point on.

Maybe he needed a push to leave and this is it?
As Cherie said, he's on screen till Christmas Eve

I forgot about Eileen. Once Phelan's killed off she'll have nothing and no one.
Shame really. The family did nothing for years and both sons left just as soon as they were actually having stories.
Scarlett.

I'm glad that Todd will be on screen til Christmas, if they had to reshoot all his scenes, I can imagine it would be quite damaging to the show (like when the Peacock's kidnap scene was rewritten a week before it was aired)

A couple of the reports I've seen on this is that he was monumentally drunk. He's already lost his job, he's pleaded guilty and now there's a suggestion that he may get a prison sentence. What a bloody farce this is getting to be. If he gets sent to prison for this it's going to set an awkward precedent for EVERY bloke who will ever get drunk on a weekend and act like a ****ing idiot. And every woman the same, for that matter.

Looking at the level of the crime I don't see why you're screaming.

I've been drunk plenty of times and have never felt the need to grope random women. Me and my old housemate used to talk all the time about how strange we found the behaviour of men in clubs, and that if you collapsed the walls the same creepy and predatory conduct in any other context would constitute sexual assault.
That said, I don't agree with a custodial sentence.
Marsh.

Yeah getting a bit handsy is one thing. Grabbing the woman by the crotch is unacceptable and a criminal offence.
