I was just reading that they hate each other, Elton literally dispises her but who who is better?
For the Lion King soundtrack alone I vote Elton John

In his five-decade career Elton John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, including seven consecutive No. 1 US albums, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10, four No. 2 and nine No. 1.
Elton wins

I rate Elton John as a songwriter but prefer others singing his songs than him.
Madonna is excellent all round so for me Madonna ahead by miles.

That's a terrible thing to say, he was Diana's best friend.

Not terrible, its the truth. He would never have sold that number of copies if the country wasn't in mourning.
Not doubting their friendship, its well documented but just saying that's the reason he has that record.
He is a massive diva, also well documented and not a nice person at all if stories ive read are true

Sorry but I believe accusing him of such a thing is terrible. He released it to honour his friend. He was already massive why would he capitalise on his friends death?

No, he doesn't. He seems to have a love-hate relationship with her.
One minute he hates her and the next apologising to her.
Show me one bad thing Madonna has said about Elton?
Anyway, this is all water under the bridge as he apologised to her last year.

The thing is, Elton might've sold around the same amount of records she has, but he's recorded 30 studio albums over those 5 decades, whereas Madonna only recorded 13 albums across 4 decades.

I saw Elton in concert a few years ago and there's no doubt he's a man of considerable talent, but he didn't excite me as much as Madonna did. He kinda just sits there at his piano and belts out the classics. With Madonna you get everything thrown at you. People will argue and say she does that to divert attention away from her lack of talent, but it's no different to others who do the same. She might not have the strongest voice in the world, but the choreography combined with classic songs, lighting is amazing. She works her arse off to give the very best she can and the result is spectacular.

Just saw a video of Elton ranting about Madonna miming a couple of songs on the Reinvention tour, but show me an artist who can sing and perform a full dance routine 100% live.

this.
real talent is bejng able to command the stage and get the concertgoers up on their feet and have the time of their lives...not saying Elton is untalented, I have a lot of respect for him.

I'm not really a fan of either but Madonna has more songs that I like. The only Elton one I can think of off the top of my head that I really like is Are You Ready. I'd say Elton is more talented though and a better musician.
