Endemol hires new creative director for BB19

Paul Osborne, who worked as a series editor, and later executive producer, between 2005 and 2008 is returning to the show as creative director.

Let's hope this is a good signing, as he was in charge during the show's best years.

Getting de ja vu all over again with Endemol putting the effort in when the show has been axed in order to ship it to other broadcasters rather than continually putting the effort in throughout the contract to make the best series they can and avoid it being axed in the first place.

I want to be hopeful given the history Paul has with BB that there is a chance for 'some' improvement... That said I have to be realistic and say that my expectations are fairly low... The CBB series currently airing was off to a great start which was refreshing but it is still very much a Channel 5 series... So I wouldn't set the bar too high...

Well this is the most exciting and intriguing thing I've heard regarding civilian BB for a long while

Mind you, as others have pointed out it's not guaranteed he'll be any good. Television has changed a lot in ten years and there's every chance he could think the old C4 days are outdated and out of place and so we'll be in for more of the same, I hope not though! If nothing else I just hope he restores some quality and slick feel to the production of the show and removes the tacky and embarrassing feel it has now

something I don’t think many people care about is the font they use, it just doesn’t feel the same without Ms C4 Headline and Gotham has been used so much over the years by a multitude of companies etc. that it’s overkill and she just looks tacky!
another fun fact: the old Channel 4 font can now be used by anyone (the exclusivity contract ran out) if they buy it and the licence for it so it’s doable!

Tbf I happened to be watching the launch of CBB4 the other day and Davina doing her house tour (:love:) and showing us the gym. It had all these motivational phrases written on the wall in that font and I’d completely forgotten about it. Made me think of the old days :love:
