My step sister does this to her Mum and it's beyond stupid. Just sheer laziness.

What about you? :)

no but my mom's done it to me like twice before :skull:

when i used to go to one of my friend's house him & his parents used to do it all the time & i thought it was strange

Personally, I find it really ignorant. Especially when there's other people in the house.

the girls text me from their rooms as does the TL all the time if I am downstairs, or phone me

And what do you think about it?

well it saves shouting or having to go up so its fine. Often its the TL saying the dog is at the door and its shut or the girls saying "dad nutella toast and juice"

Rarely. I have done, I will do again. Shouting down the stairs is so impractical.

Yes if it's in the same house, not if it's the same room

No, I'm always glad to put my phone on silent when home and only check it now and then.
Would never use it to phone/text in the same house nor would I respond to same either.

Not text, however I message son or daughter on messenger if I want their attention, or a cup of coffee etc:blush:

If I get in late at night I like to shut the door loudly enough that she'll hear it and then message from the hall like "Running ten mins late, shouldn't be long!" for giggles.

Other than that nah. Unless it's to share a link to something funny I've seen online whilst sat on the toilet or something.

No, that's quite funny though

I do find myself sometimes texting to my coworkers when we're in the same office - but it's either because it's easy to share technical issues or just private chat with my team leader. Still feels funny though

(i filled the bowl with packing peanuts and pretended to spill cereal all over her, worked a treat) :laugh2:

Never. :D I think I have only texted about 7 times this whole year. Rarely use the smartphone either. :p

I usually find shouting it good. :p

I do, but it's usually for good reason, like either I am sick or I'm in my home office and can't afford the distraction. I literally lock my door so people can't just waltz in. Plus scares the living sh*t out of me when people walk up when I have my headphones on and I'm deep into something.

And I wouldn't even really call it texting. My husband and our friends use LINE, and it has a PC app, so I rarely use SMS. I'm much more likely to miss a real text actually...
