Watching the sheer reaction of euphoria on a pop forum I frequent during and after her performance was a very special moment. It was the sort of moment I’d been waiting to see for years! It deserved to win for the hair flip alone.

What's the point of judging the songs and the performances of those songs if it's all to do with which country you prefer more? Isn't the outcry of the UK's poor results in Eurovision over the fact that people aren't judging our entries on merit but instead on hating the UK? And no, there's no problem with hosting ESC in Israel, to those who again are influenced by the same wrong impression that there's about Israel. Ahhhhhhhhhhh I'm so happy we won. Saturday night was one of the most nerve wrecking moments.
We've had some huge celebrations here.
I went to the "Israel Calling" event in Tel Aviv back in April when around 30 artists came to perform and on Monday I went again to the homecoming celebrations with Netta in the same place - and it was very exciting to have this closure.
I voted for her to represent Israel, and it's amazing seeing her winning it. She truly deserves it.

I was looking for the post I've made before she was chosen
In a few hours it's the final of "Rising Star", choosing the singer to represent Israel.
The four finalists are: Jonathan Mergui, Chen Aharoni ("Israeli Idol", "X Factor UK"), Riki Ben Ari and Neta Barzilay.

I haven't watched the series, but Mergui will probably win it (the obvious winner good looking 16 year old). He's great though (Against All Odds (http://www.mako.co.il/tv-the-next-star/video?subChannelId=2d4e92c8ae27f510VgnVCM2000002a0 c10acRCRD&vcmid=85a3cc09c9681610VgnVCM2000002a0c10acRCRD)), unlike Imri from last year.
But my absolute favourite is Neta - absolutely unique and amazing - have a look at her "Barbie Girl" rendition with her looper:
