Update after the Casa Amor dumping - quite a lot of risers and fallers, the most so far! (Georgia's massive rise affected a few peoples rankings, as did Wes's massive fall. Plus alot of the new islanders gained lots of fans which switched up placings)

Yeah if it wasn't for the Danny Dyer connection I don't think she'd be at 1mil just yet. A number of the Survival of the Fittest cast ended up with about 200k/300k by the end of the show, but Dani was only in one episode so hr dad is definitely a reason for a lot of her followers from that show :laugh:

New Jack obviously had a massive rise. Zara has been gaining followers at an increasingly fast rate since she was dumped from the island. And if Dani continues at the rate she's going she'll be challenging Kem & Chris as the most followed islander ever (she's about 200k away from being the highest followed female I think - Olivia S2, Amber and Liv S3 are all at 1.6 million)

Samira is the bottom original left in by a large amount (beating only Hayley of ALL originals, even those lasting 6/11 days), .. even behind Georgia and Rosie who entered late (and Rosie eliminated weeks ago) - kinda shocked her followers are so low. She is kinda irrelevant though

I'm surprised Samira has managed to gain a 10k lead over Laura (currently) since Laura's been getting quite alot of airtime recently and central to storylines.

Kendall has now finally dropped out of the Top 10.

And Dani has just hit 1.7 million followers, making her the most followed female contestant of all time. I believe Kem is the most followed ever, with 2.1 million (Chris has 2 million), so she could very well become the most followed ever if she milks the post-show deals.

within 10 days of leaving almost every contestant gains 250k minimum [unless they are completely irrel, aka the Casa Amor irrel newbies or people that last less than a week]

Hence Samira overtaking Laura, by the time Laura leaves she will have at least 350k lead on Samira, people outside the villa when they first leave gain far quicker than those inside, It's not just Samira, it was Adam, Eyal, Niall, Zara, Rosie, Kendall - all 200k plus quickly after leaving]. Dani will leave on around 2M and then end up on like 2.4M a few weeks after the show I reckon [maybe even more..].

I wonder whether it's better to be dumped/leave before the finale and have more attention on yourself for a few weeks while the show's still on rather than having to share the post-Love Island hype with about 9 other islanders after the finale. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I think leaving in finale will be better. I imagine the week after finale there will be a huge surge in followers for the contestants who make the finale.

Georgia will probably end up fifth by the end though on around 1.3M, I imagine Alex will overtake her a few days after the finale should he make the finale and at least one other of Wes/Laura/Meg will overtake depending on if Meg/Wes and Laura/her man make the finale.

Even being Danny Dyer's daughter hasn't made her win. Her personality has. People don't support Dani because she was on a Channel 5 show for a day, nor do they support her because her dad is famous.

It's like saying Lydia from BB13 was destined to win from episode 1 because her husband was famous.

this. last year the couples were solid which made u more attached to them and made the final more exciting and in the air. for example i can't see anyone coming after after casa amor hitting over 500k even though they will make up half of the final, simply because people have no attachment to them

I have noticed that contestants who leave gain more than when they are in there as they are posting more and most importantly, posting themselves (not having others do it). So people like Alex 1, Megan and Laura will for sure reach over 1m if they don't achieve during the run.

I have done another update [a final update], as the last update doesn't really show the islanders that got to the last week/final's true ranking [as Islanders when they leave grow massively on Instagram and so the effect hadn't fully hit them yet].

Any Islanders that are tied I've put the ones that have been growing at a far faster rate higher as they have likely already overtaken the older islanders or are likely to overtake them soon. As the older islanders have been stuck on their number of followers for weeks [I.e. Alexandra and Kaz I've rated higher than Samira as she has been static while both Alex/Kaz have been growing, they are likely to hit 1.1M soon, and also Josh and Jack over Adam who has been static..

I put Kaz and Alexandra ahead as they were each 400k behind Samira and over the course of 5-10 days got to 1 million, theyre going to overtake her if they haven’t already, I imagine all 3 are very close to 1.1m and she may reach their first by a day (who knows?), but Kaz and Alexandra are gaining more followers per day and will likely remain ahead of Samira (although samira has just got press from frankie which may help her but not enough). Samira is going to end up in 13th regardless, it’s just the effect of leaving you gain followers quicker..
