Anyone else find this is a really suprising statistic?? considering its reality TV and the ages of most of the housemates, this is specifically CIVILLIAN big brother as well mind.

I posted before about how the average age of TV viewers has gotten higher. With Channel 5 it is 58, and even the E4 average is 42.

Not surprised, the majority of Big Brother's viewers are probably people who have been fans since the beginning. Most youngsters use catchup now, too.

I’ve been saying this for a while. BB keep aiming at the 16 - 24 market and get scared that Love island is the competition. However, C5 haven’t taken into account that the audience has grown with the show and it’s not surprising that the main audience for the show would have been 20 - 30 when the show began back in 2000.

I’d go further and say that one of the reasons why the ratings have got worse in the last few years is because the age group actually watching the show has been forgotten about in their casting and targeting for the programme.
