THERE were rumours Big Brother was facing the axe after a dip in ratings . . . but it’s not heading off to the scheduling graveyard yet.

Production firm Endemol Shine Group has renewed the lease of the famous house at Elstree Studios for another THREE years.

That's still a very strong possibility... They also might not have any firm commitments or interest from other parties either...

As previously stated Endemol still held the permits for the house when the show left Channel 4... As far as we know the renewal is just buying time to complete the series and wishful thinking in regards to the future...

No doubt it's much easier for Endemol to sell the show when they already have a production base than it would to start again from scratch...

i think they should keep the house and use it to sell to public bb nightly experiences... eg people pay £100-200 a night depending on what time of the year it is eg peek and off peak or even a mid peak at £150 then people can live in the bb house for a day or two and experience it ... only they wont be on tv... i know that the permission is for there to be live evictions, but that could be done just encase c5 renew the show contract..

Yeah, have to agree. It seems to me that the only reason they applied for a 3 year is because they got turned down for a 1 year. Not because they have any real commitment at this stage.

True, but look at the name of the forum site; "This is Big Brother", primarily it's a Big Brother forum and as such if he still wants to post about Big Brother and discuss it, he has every damn right to do so.

Not gonna lie I'd be surprised if even 50% of active members still watch BB. It may be named after the show it doesn't mean you're banned if you don't watch about it

Yeah I would hope we stick with TiBB for the members and not for what shows they watch? The fact some of us even still watch the show gives more to do, people to interact with during livestream. When it was popular, I imagine it attracted a lot of new members and I'm sure that helped all parts of the forum...

Even saying that I think BBUK is on its way out, whether they cancel or not... it won't matter after a point when the ratings decline. I kept saying sometime after Winter CBB that I was skeptical they would even air civvy... just this filling like we are near the end of an era. I don't know that moving her to another channel will "save" her... the format is quite stale at this point, and with social media and general current events being ever-saturated with daily happenings, it's not like there is a shortage of drama...

I'll still watch launch and if I like, I'll keep up... if not, it's not the end of the world. Live continues forward.

If you had any kind of reading comprehension skills you'd have seen I was responding to the comment that I'm still on a forum about a show I no longer watch. I'm not as I use the other areas of the forum and the BB one infrequently.
