Red always. White or yellow are only good if you want them to disappear into your dish... like a soup or cream base where you blend them in completely.
Red have all the flavour and colour and crunch .... yum

I haven't had Red onions since I lived at my mam's, we're talking 20 years.

I only really buy onions for cooking things like lasagne, stew, curries ect.
