You got a cracking good result tonight Dogeatdog.
A 6-0 away win for Charlton.
Thanks Joey I was absolutely thrilled about that result!! For us now to go into these last 5 games being unbeaten in 10 is a huge boost for the whole squad and the fans.
Our away form has been amazing but what needs to happen which is crucial now is for our home form to improve because it’s been poor this season and we need to win as many games as we can to be in the playoffs. Peterborough at home on Saturday, I really hope we can keep this good momentum going.

Thankfully that absurd penalty didn't make a difference between us staying up or going down.
Hopefully we keep this untouchable form through to next season.

I hope so too Mock. From this point onwards it’s going to be very tense for the teams in League 1 that are aiming for the playoffs with the season ending soon.
On a side note I saw a really odd stat yesterday. So Coventry who are ground sharing with Birmingham this season are on the exact same points, with the exact same amount of games won, drawn and lost, and nearly the exact same goal difference . Just thought it was a bit unusual lol

Hello Dogeatdog.
I've got to say I didn't know that statistic at all.:joker: It's very funny though.
The League One playoff positions are incredibly tight at the moment, maybe one win and a draw will be enough for Charlton to make it into the playoffs.:fc:

Yh man I’m feeling that anxiety poor Joey’s been feeling all season for the blues. The playoffs in L1 this season are soo close at the moment. We’ve got Crewe tonight at home which I’m nervous about because we’re just so $hit at home this season.

Neil Harris gave me a good laugh on Sky Sports today.
Stats for the Sheffield Utd vs Birmingham match.
Possession:
Sheffield Utd 76% Birmingham 24%
Shots:
Sheffield Utd 16 Birmingham 9
Shots On Target:
Sheffield Utd 2 Birmingham 2
Corners:
Sheffield Utd 8 Birmingham 2
Fouls:
Sheffield Utd 3 Birmingham 12 (I swear every single one of those 15 fouls ended up with the players receiving a yellow card, such a poor Referee)
Final Score:
Sheffield Utd 0 Birmingham 1
Neil Harris said that "Sheffield Utd dominated the game and that they only conceded off poor defending" which makes it sound like we only had 1 or 2 shots on goal and didn't have a goal disallowed or Hogan miss an open goal.
If anything Sheffield Utd were lucky that they didn't lose by more, yes they may have had more chances than us, but only one of their chances was truly threatening, and I certainly wouldn't call it "dominating."
I can definitely see why he has been sacked twice as Manager if that's his analysis of last night's match, instead of just admitting that the flavour of the month weren't good enough, the pundits try to excuse and dismiss " the underdog" which I'm sure Villa, Leicester, and Tottenham fans can all testify to after what the Media said about their big victories last season against Liverpool & the two Manchester clubs respectively.

Well the EFL is at it now apparently.
I haven't seen the list myself, but my Mom told me that the EFL Championship Team Of The Week has happened and not one Blues player made the list even though Chong and Colin played fantastic, and we beat one of the best teams in the League.
Instead a bunch of players that didn't play as good as Chong or Colin got in there, and in quite a few cases their teams didn't even win their matches.
Basically there's too much bias and corruption in Football, instead of judging the players on merit, the EFL are picking who they think the public would like to see on the list, or flavour of the month teams who get vastly overrated every season (basically the club version of Belgium) which means we have to have our token QPR, Reading, and Swansea players on the list.
Rant over.:joker:
And just to let everyone know, I don't have anything against these teams or their players (they're not Ched Evans for me) but I expect these lists to be based on merit, and removing the two best players of the week from the list makes it look like a laughing stock imo.

I agree with this.
He is of a totally different caliber to the rest of our players.
And tbh Blues are looking really strong this season in general, we just drew away from home with a team that's always been a bogey team for us, and they were in the playoffs last season, and they're looking decent this season.
Apart from Fulham & West Brom I fancy our chances against everybody else in the League which is highly unusual for me to feel this optimistic about Blues, but I honestly think that we're gonna be a tough team to beat this season.

Obviously I shouldn't get carried away, but I feel like we're a top 5 team from what I've seen from every other Championship team so far.

Obviously conceding four goals is never a good thing, but I honestly feel like no other Championship team will look as threatening against Fulham as we did at points in the game.
Plus without meaning to sound bitter, there were two very questionable goals from Fulham, and the Referee did favour them alot throughout the game.
We probably were gonna lose anyway, and in fairness Fulham's done something that no other Championship team has done against us so far this season and that's beat us by a massive margin, so they deserve credit for that.
But seriously with the Referee he shouldn't officiate on a Fulham game ever again as he clearly supports them.:joker:

A classic sign of when the better team isn't trying.
1. Score an own goal
2. Concede a penalty
3. A player getting sent off
Clearly Lee Bowyer has done something to piss these babies off, I mean no offence to Peterborough fans but we're clearly the better team yet we're losing 3-0?:suspect:
I can't say this about other teams and not my own, players need to grow up and get over their differences and try in every single game that they play, deliberately tanking the team is a disgraceful action to take not just on the Manager, but also on the fans that are watching a farcical "performance" before their very eyes.
I mean fair play to Peterborough for taking advantage, but our players need to get over themselves and actually start trying at the very least against teams that we're better than.
Also this isn't the first time that Blues players have tanked the team because of having issues with the Manager either, I've personally had enough of it.

And sadly the worst part about all of this is that thanks to Covid we'll see many more teams in this situation for the next few seasons, the Sport needs to do something to stop another massive club like Derby or Sheffield Wednesday from going through this again as it's bad for the Sport to lose these teams potentially.

We're getting relegated this season.
Yeah we can score more frequently under Bowyer, but we can't defend on any basic level, and I honestly can't see where the next win is gonna come from.
And yes the Referee had a terrible game tonight, but even I can only blame the Referees to a certain extent for our bad results.
Imo the owners are a disgrace, Trillion Trophy Asia/whatever alias they're going as currently were blatantly dodgy owners to me when they sacked Rowett who only had us 4 points off 2nd place, for Zola who's always been a bad Manager.
And if Harry Redknapp couldn't get us going, then how are Managers like Steve Cotterill & Pep Clotet supposed to get us playing well? And don't even get me started on this loaning business that we seem to have currently going on when it comes to transfers.
Basically we're not seeing the Premier League again until these owners leave the club, and that is sad to say as I normally like to be optimistic when it comes to Blues, but not with them in charge.

What a weird season for Birmingham City Football Club.
1. We've played diabolical most games, in some of them we've defended so badly that even Fort William up in Scotland could beat us.
2. The referees allows teams to score offside goals against us for fun, literally Derby & Sheffield Utd robbed us of points that were rightfully ours, but having 12 men on the team bought them points.
3. Being allowed to take the ball out for a goal kick just to then pass it to your teammate to then smash it into an empty net against us. This is the most creative way of the 12 men Hull City to cheat us out of points during a game before, I almost respect it.
4. We have players get sent off just for daring to tackle.
5. And on Tuesday 15th March, Middlesbrough will get their Maradona on again and play with their hands instead of their feet and rob us of a result just like they did to Man Utd in the FA Cup, because once a cheat always a cheat am I right guys?
6. Forget dealing with Fergie time or Ole time, we had to deal with Rooney time where Derby equalised in the 45th minute of added time.
Yet despite all of this, we've somehow got 36 points on the board and are in 18th place.
Question is does anyone think that any of the other teams in the Championship could receive this much cheating against them and achieve the same or better result than us? Tbh the only team in the Championship that I think could outdo us with this deficit against them is Fulham, everybody else... No chance imo.

It’s odd really, Lee Bowyer got off on a strong start for the blues iirc but it started to tail off once December came round. As crap as it has been for the Derby and Reading (obviously mainly for the former) it’s been a bit of a blessing that those points deductions occurred, if they hadn’t I would’ve been seriously worried as a blues fan. Hopefully the team can rebuild and come back stronger next season but I’m not sure if Bowyer will be around to see it.

I’m glad you’s held Millwall to a draw, I was hoping you’s would nick the win tbh it would’ve made me very happy
Thanks Dogeatdog, tbh it was nice to see us put up a fight against a good team after calming down and thinking about it more logically.
But I agree with you that if it weren't for the points deductions we'd be screwed right now and I think there's three big reasons behind our bad form in the second half of the season.
1. The owners and whatever name that they go by at any given moment in time, they're corrupt, and run the club like they're a Championship version of the Glazers.
2. Troy Deeney's arrival has really not helped imo, he hasn't played very well in most of the matches that he has played in, and he just bitches on Social Media a bit too much for my liking.
3. I honestly don't get Bowyer's obsession with playing 3 defenders at the back? Our team really doesn't suit it but he won't back down sadly as I think that he has potential to be a decent manager.
Charlton have won two games on the bounce, do you think that might be a good omen for you guys next season to maybe build momentum for promotion?

Yh the last 4 or 5 seasons you’s have always finished in roughly the same position in the table. It’s clear there’s poor ownership happening down there and not enough investment into the squad.
Yh Deeney has been pretty poor this season mind you he was out injured for a few months but I’m sure he’s only bagged 4 goals in the rest of the time he was fit? That’s not good enough imo.
Yh Bowyer did the same thing with us when he was manager. He persisted with the 3-5-2 formation when we didn’t really have strongest of players especially defence wise. A lot of the fans thought that we played a lot stronger when we had 4 at the back and I also thought the same but Bowyer also had a habit of changing the team around near enough every game. I don’t think he ever really knew what his strongest squad was towards the end of his run with us. Unfortunately Jonnie Jackson has picked up some of Bowyers bad habits and is persisting with the same formation with a much weaker squad.
We’ve won 2 games which is great don’t get me wrong but we have been pretty bad this season, dropping right into the relegation places at one point and until I see us make some good signings in the transfer window, then I will continue to remain pessimistic about next season. We have a really weak squad atm and it needs to be addressed in the summer transfer window. They need to stop with the loan players for a start and actually get players under contract with us because a lot of them are not really committed to the club and it shows on the pitch.

You've hit the nail on the head with our ownership.
As you've said about Deeney he was unfortunate to be injured for a chunk of the season, but I again agree with you that 4 goals in 21 games for someone of his caliber is not good enough.
It sounds like Bowyer just has bad habits that he can't shake off when it comes to tactics and rotating the team.
Tbh I can't stand loan players most of the time, with the odd exception most loan players just simply don't give a **** about the team that they are loaned out to so they don't put the effort in.
Hopefully you guys invest well for next season.

Congratulations MTVN.
I wish I could've caught the games today but let's just say Virgin Media's useless Tivo box has broken, and it was supposed to be repaired today but apparently our Technician couldn't fix it because of a "powercut" even though I'm on the Internet right now, and my Neighbours have told me that they haven't experienced a powercut either.
Even worse than that level of incompetence was the fact that we had to phone them up to find out what was even going on, because Virgin Media wasn't even gonna tell us the Technician's bull**** excuse otherwise.
Basically if you're considering having Virgin Media then don't, maybe that'll teach them to actually do their jobs.
How would these ****ers handle retail jobs where you have to deal with all sorts of people? Absolute clowns at Virgin Media.
But rant aside, we might play each other for the 2023/24 season.:joker:

Tbf it was no different to the season where Villa got promoted.
I remember they were animals against us, but yet no red card was given.
Basically the big clubs in the Championship do get a lot of help off the Referees, it's unfair, but Forest isn't the worst I've seen for rigging in the Championship imo.

I agree on both Joey, I was expecting us to at least draw with 10 men, and the team should be a lot better than it currently is imo.
I knew not to get carried away when we beat Huddersfield because every team is doing that, but the draw with Watford did genuinely impress me, but in typical Blues fashion we've blown it on a game that on paper was made for us to win.

God the EFL is corrupt.
I think that we can all agree that John Eustace should've been nominated for Manager Of The Month, especially considering how limited his squad is, yet we've lost only 2 games in our last 11 or 12.
Yet he got snubbed for a guy who's team lost to us, and hasn't won a match in his last 4 games.
A guy who's team lost 5-2 to Sheffield Utd.
And a team that's lost twice in their last 6 matches.
That makes a whole load of sense.
I'm not meaning to be disrespectful to these other Managers, but it's clear that Eustace has done better than these three in question this month.

I'm mystified really.
A city like Birmingham should attract and have some of the best investment and owners of a football club.
I really don't know why they haven't.
Birmingham should be a premiership club, not just because I support them but for the major City Birmingham is.
How I wish some great investment would be forthcoming to put the club back in the top heights.
To attract string players too.
There's still a lot to play for this season but I really hope they get back to not losing vital points in matches and find a belief that they can do much more than just barely survive in the Championship this season.
They've been doing that until the last run of matches.
My fingers are crossed for a return rapidly to even the knife edge results of holding on to draws and wins they were achieving earlier.
Good luck to them, this is a club that warrants better than has been the case the last few seasons.

And Eustace saying that we played well.:joker:
Look, Eustace seems like a decent guy, but the form has been shockingly bad lately, and I get that this happens every year at Birmingham City, but why Eustace keeps playing certain players that keep playing terrible every week, no wonder we're not seeing good results.
Although this isn't me ignoring our ownership being a menace, I honestly wouldn't wish them on Aston Villa.

A respectable showing from Barnsley, especially considering they were down to ten men.
But I do feel that Sheffield Wed deserved it more throughout the season, they were 10 points ahead of Barnsley in the table, so as someone who's a neutral to both teams, I feel like the fairest result played out.

Good result for Charlton today. There’s still work to do tho, our midfield is a bit wobbly and we’re making the same mistake of getting subs in too late.
I see the blues had a draw today after being 1-0 up which was unlucky (I was backing them on my bet as well). What do you think Mock do you reckon you’s can challenge for the playoffs this season?

Sadly too many draws.
Enough to keep them safe in the Championship but such a lot of points missed out on.
Again today, they got ahead then ended up with a draw.
Again too late in the 2nd half.
However it's the first game only, it's an away point so I'll keep hoping they string stronger results in fixtures to come.
Please though not a repeat of last season's load of draws after getting ahead in the matches

I'm not going to get too carried away with playoffs yet, but I think that we could easily grab a top 12 finish, because I feel like that the first four or five games will be where we'll be finding our foot through the door due to all of the changes at the club.

A similar situation here as well tbh Mock. There’s been a lot of changes behind the scenes so it’s difficult to know how this season will pan out.

Without meaning to keep gushing over Birmingham City Football Club, but according to people that I know irl who use Twitter, we apparently helped a local Football club who play in the Midland Football League called AFC Birmingham with getting extra seats in their stadium, plus a tunnel to walk out of before a game is about to kick off.
And I think we gave them some of our spare goalposts as well.
Basically I respect Blues all the more for helping out a Non-League team out, and hopefully AFC Birmingham have a great season, whenever it starts back up for them.
Update... After some research I've found out that AFC Birmingham have played two matches, I think they're sitting 8th in the table.

I am trying to be optimistic that Rooney can get something going here, he has admitted to making mistakes early on, which I remember managers like Karanka and Bowyer being really stubborn about their mistakes and doubling down on them, so I hope that Rooney is genuinely learning.

Although the Referee got a little bit biased towards Leicester in the second half, they were getting away with diving and a potential leg breaker from the one Leicester player on Buchanan.

I wonder if the board will finally see sense and sack Rooney, or will the American owners try to "educate" us on why we're "wrong" as a fanbase to not back their "vision" and how Rooney is a "great Manager really," who is going to eventually play "possession based Football" (even though Eustace with the same group of players was getting them to have higher possession stats) because if they choose the latter (which let's face it, we're talking about Americans in a business setting) those types in general can't pass up an opportunity to patronize and "educate" people, but if they choose to do that instead of sacking Rooney after repeatedly defending like a Conference team, then the club will deserve relegation, and I am deadly serious about that.
If Tom Brady and Tom Wagner aren't even going to try and make this club be decent, then why should anybody else care what happens? I mean a lot of Blues fans have repeatedly given them advice, but like the stereotype around modern American businessman mindset, they're letting their ego get the better of them.
And no it's not Xenophobia, just look at Disney to see the Americans stubbornness and egotistical opinions when it comes to business, and how they handle criticism, Wagner & Brady are currently operating in a similar way.

Get rid of him PLEASE.
He is good at attacking/goalscoring, but tactically he cancels out the midfield and defense to achieve goals, which is why we're conceding so many goals.
In particular no Football team can operate at a decent level with no real midfield, because Rooney is piling too much pressure on the defense to essentially do both roles which is impossible.
Rooney seriously needs to master the arts of midfield and defense, because he is making ours look worse than they actually are.
And I agree with you that he needs to go, a good Manager plays to the players strength, not what the Manager's "philosophy" is (which sounds so pretentious when I hear people saying it like that) and the only time Rooney has played to the players strength was when we played Cardiff.
