Since there's a lot of speculation with the planning application lasting up until 2022 or something, but Endemol's contract with Channel 5 ends this year..

..would you like Channel 5 to keep it? Channel 4 to take it back? Or maybe you want it to move to another channel altogether. And what do you think will happen?

My personal view is that I'd love Channel 4 to take it back, but it seems kinda unrealistic. Therefore, I'd be open to ITVBe or ITV2 having the show!

You do realise ITV would turn it into Love Island in a Bungalow in rainy England?

Epic.

Anyone but channel 5, I want them to realise how much they took the show for granted

I don't think so. I think they'd be keen to differentiate the shows as much as possible, and that means having the original format potentially. (social experiment rather than reality show style)

Isn't it what it kinda became already?

Sky would be a good fit for it. They’ve both currently got Fox as (partial) owners and there hasn’t really been a big prime time format on Sky since Got to Dance.

I think sky would take creative risks (like Something about Miriam) but I think C4 would still be best. It’s clear to see they’ve have a hole to fill and that’s why they’re trying to do stuff like the circle. I think if they had the chance to give it a whirl again because they have been able to take risks like The Circle etc in terms of ratings. I do think there’s a bigger chance of it than we think.

When Ch4 had it the ratings of 3mil them days were low for them, they had Shameless etc and a few shows that exceeded 5mil+. Now they only have Bake Off, they rarely get 1m+ so BB would actually be good for them now.

No other channel would take it because ITV have Love Island and tbh they have hit shows, CH5 have no shows with consistantly good ratings so will pay a lot for CBB stars. No other channel wouls take it so we need to hope and pray Ch5 keep it

Conflicting interest because they have Love Island. It would always be on the back foot

I think a smaller network (in terms of ratings) would treat it better- so I would be interested to see how Sky1 would manage it. I think Netflix or Amazon could do a really great job if they made the most of its potential as an interactive, online experience.

CH4 have many shows that rate above 1 million

Gogglebox just had 3 million viewers and shows like First Dates and Undateables are hits

Only now and again tbf when they have stuff like period/original dramas big shows lke EastEnders only get like 4 million these days and The Graham Norton Show scrapes 2 million.

How did they lose Bake Off to Channel 4? Probably because they weren't willing to invest money into it which is worrying if they took over BB...Though I do feel they would make it more of a social experiment which could actually pay off.

I'd be interested to see it being online-based.

YouTube Red, Netflix, Amazon Prime... would all be very interesting. IGTV is investing in series and episodic content even.

I think the format needs completely stripping back, but also needs to look to the future. Big Brother, in today's social age, should be at it's biggest. I think looking to modern platforms would help facilitate that.

:notimpressed:

Strictly also has like around 8.5 million/9 million viewers, which definitely outslays channels like ITV/Channel 4 & 5

The Apprentice also does well in ratings for the BBC
