View Full Version : C5 Without Big Brother

Let's face it, Channel 5 is going to suffer miserably without big brother. The ratings will hit rock bottom, barely reaching a million, nobody will watch it or care about it anymore and it's ridiculous how they axe BB (Their most famous show) when the following is all that they will have from 2019 onwards:
-Horrid benefits documentaries exploiting people who can't/won't work, all for the sake of ratings
-Trashy Scum Island rip-offs like Undercover Girlfriend & Make or Break (Both of them flopped anyway)
-The pointless Can't Pay We'll Take it Away (They should take this rubbish away instead)
-Rich House Poor House (WHO CARES??)
-In solitary (FLOP)
-In Therapy With [Insert troubled celebrity name here]
-Cruising with Jane Sodding McDonald (What's the big deal over some middle-aged woman on a cruise ship?? Overrated tripe.)
-Botched-up Bodies (Who in their right mind would want to watch this gruesome shower of ****e??)
-GPs Behind Closed Doors (Again, WHO CARES???)
-A load of pointless timewasting documentaries
-The Hotel Inspector (Waste of airtime.)
-A load of random US imports (CSI, NCIS, The X Files, Will & Grace, Friends etc.)
-The Bachelor (Which already flopped the first time. I can already predict that it'll flop again)
-Those pointless compilation shows (No one watches them or cares about them anyway)
-SuperBloodyCasino
-Celebs on the Farm (What a load of manure. Literally.)
-C5's ruddy version of Blind Date
and all the other crap C5 will continue to air
If this is C5's roster from 2019 onwards then it is really embarrassing for them. Bent Frown and C5 should hang their ugly heads in shame! Diehard BB fans should immediately boycott C5 once BB19 ends! Pitiful. Just Pitiful. I don't know anyone who would watch any of the dross listed above. I dread to see what their ratings will be like now that they stupidly axed their flagship show.

It is puzzling.
Just hope Endemol manages to negotiate with another channel to keep it going in the UK.

I do actually like In Solitary, and Blind Date. C5 now has a chance to prove it can do something without BB, which makes me think they believe they have a new gap in the market to fill.
That being said, I'm fairly certain C5 are planning on a GBBO competitor involving model railways, so what do I know?

Whatever it is, I'm sure it will flop, just like a lot of C5's other shows.

I think they had to save a lot of money because of buying friends. Like anybody cares about friends anymore. All of those that loved it have seen all of it 3 times over. Channel 5 are stupid

Never watched the channel before, don't think I will again. Only other thing during BB I watched was the football highlights when they had the three english leagues, but I think that's moved to another channel now.

It's gonna lose all of it's 16-34 share, thats for sure :laugh2:
honestly, even from a business POV, this was a terrible decision from C5.

I don't think anyone will watch C5 again, unless they enjoy watching crap.

I hope they sack Mr Frow its what he deserves.
I hope they ship him off to another universe. Pathetic ignorant narcissistic fool.
If/When Channel 5 ends up losing ratings and money it will be all Bent Frown's fault for betraying and letting down a majority of the people that watch HIS channel and replacing C5's flagship show with garbage that no one will even bother watching.

Big Brother is by far their highest-rated show. They'll lose a lot of money and they honestly deserve it.

Not a chance. As far as I'm concerned Channel 5 is well and truly Dead without BB. As I said earlier no one will even care about any of the other rubbish shows C5 come up with.
Big Brother, whether you like it or not, is C5's highest-rated and most talked-about show. Neither of their other shows generate so much publicity for the channel. Scrote-head Bent Frown must have been high on something when he made this decision.

C5 will still survive I'm sure , ratings may lower but they'll always find other new programs to air on C5 .
C5 has always been a strange channel anyway , I remember as a kid I was never interested in it as the programming was dull . Now it seems a bit like it's reaching out to a young audience .

I highly doubt their "young audience" will be interested in benefits documentaries, Love Island ripoffs, any of Jane McBloodyDonald's shows, compilation shows, In Solitary, GPs Behind Closed Doors, Can't Pay We'll Take it Away and any of the other pointless mind-numbing trash they like to show.
Without BB, I can't see C5's viewing figures ever passing 800-900k. C5 axing BB/CBB is like BBC1 axing Strictly Come Dancing, Channel 4 axing Great British Bake Off or ITV2 axing Love Island when those shows give the channels their highest amount of ratings and publicity. As another poster said, its a terrible business decision from C5.
