I actually think it's more complicated than that; I don't think he is naturally like that and is quite insecure like someone said above. I think he WANTS to be like his dad, or possibly even, thinks it makes his dad happy for him to be like him, so it's mostly an act that he's been putting on his whole life.

It definitely feels like an affected personality more than a natural one.
